The Green Turtle is a floating bed and breakfast as luxurious as it is unique. Set in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard on Boston Harbor, the Green Turtle offers an expansive view of the Boston skyline along with the comfort and amenities of a modern bed and breakfast. The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides), the Bunker Hill Monument and the Freedom Trail are a short walk away. You can take the water ferry to numerous points along the waterfront. There are dining choices from bagels to world famous dining. The Green Turtle houseboat and yachts were designed for comfort above all and the only reminder you are floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, motion of the sea and the reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling. It is delightful starting your day sipping coffee or enjoying a cold beverage after a day of sightseeing while sitting on your dock chairs or aft deck watching the harbor traffic and city skyline. The Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast offers 2 boat choices. The Green Turtle I is a houseboat offering two private and separate suites and each has 1 queen sized bed with luxury linens. Each suite(Loggerhead and Sea Turtle) has a kitchenette and a private bathroom en suite. Each suite sleeps 2 or reserve both suites for 4 people. Green Turtle II is a 45 foot motor yacht which sleeps 2 - 6 people. She has 2 private queen staterooms with bathroom and shower in each stateroom, a full sleeper sofa in the living area, a galley and dinette and a great aft deck with comfortable outdoor furniture. Your suite/yacht is stocked with gourmet coffee, teas, juice, yogurt and water. We deliver continental breakfast. Staying aboard the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast is a unique way to visit Boston. All boats are docked in marina slips and are moored permanently during your stay. Wifi and basic cable TV. The boats are air conditioned and heated. Come Float With Us!

What a perfect stay. John and Karen are wonderful hosts! We enjoyed the muffins, comfy bed, warm decor, and beautiful views. Thank you for helping us get some much needed rest and relaxation. And for the spot on recommendations for dinner!

Our second time at the Green Turtle was just as great as the first. Love the comfortable, cozy room, gentle rocking, wonderful Boston views and occasional passing boats. The location in Charlestown in Boston Harbor is unique and so convenient to local restaurants and sites and easy to get to Boston. However, be sure to save time for just relaxing in the room and sitting on the deck with coffee or a drink because you might not want to leave. Also there is great walking along the harborwalk. We loved having the convenience of an in room coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and sink. We were sorry to hear that a full breakfast was no longer served but you probably won't miss it. The fridge is stocked with yogurt, milk, juice and Jon delivers lovely warm baked goods in the morning. Perfect! We enjoyed a few great restaurants nearby. Pier 6 is within walking distance and has amazing Boston and harbor views and perfectly cooked baked halibut! Loved the historic Warren Tavern. Highly recommend the buttermilk chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. In the north end, loved the authentic feel of Massimino's. Try their Limincello Parfait! Best wishes and continued success to Jon and Karen. Jon has great suggestions and is an expert on the area.

The Green Turtle 2 was amazing! It was cozy, comfortable and cute with all amenities needed. It was perfect for four adults. The views were great and water and bus shuttles were easily walkable. It was well located for us to do all we wanted to in the Boston area. Our hosts John and Karen were wonderful. Very friendly and full of ideas for our stay. We were looking for something different, something that wasn't outrageously priced, and something that added a bit of adventure to our trip. This was it. We will visit the Green Turtle again!

Didn't know places like this existed. First of all, Boston is beautiful.. one of my favourite places. Spent July 4th weekend here and its a must! Green Turtle is unique made even more special by Jon & Karen. They email you on the day to find out your ETA/flight times etc and are there to greet you when you arrive. The houseboat is gorgeous, complete with amenities and drinks/snacks. Jon was kind and willing enough to go to the store to get us beer and wine and book us a taxi for our return journey. There is motion on the houseboat but its more of a gentle rock. On a afternoon/evening we would sit on the pier with drinks watching the world go by. Had the best time and hopefully will return to see more delights of Boston and of course Green Turtle. Thanks

Had a great time aboard the Green Turtle II. We spent the afternoon on the aft deck sipping wine while watching the Sunday boat traffic. The accommodations were lovely and we couldn’t have felt more at home. The banana bread delivered for breakfast was the best ever! Thank you Karen and Jon for being such terrific hosts.

Are you looking for something a little out of the ordinary? You’ll find it at The Green Turtle. The idea of a floating bed and breakfast intrigued me as soon as I learned about it. Arriving in Boston during evening rush hour, I soon found myself at the Charlestown Marina and settled into my accommodations right on the water. My room was charming, comfortable, and well-equipped. Jon asked me about my travel to Boston and what my hopes were while I was visiting, and he gave me some good general ideas for nearby dining and interesting shopping as well as some on-target intercity travel advice to for seeing the items on my list. Thank you Jon and Karen!

This house boat was a one of a kind experience. John and Karen were awesome. Never having been to Boston before, John took the time to ask what you are wanting to do and goes out of his way to give guidance on navigating the city and getting the most out of your visit. Without him we would not have gotten so much in on our short trip. We stayed on the house boat with another couple we were traveling with. Great setup for traveling with friends. We plan on going back in the future. Hopefully we’ll be able to set aside extra time to chat with John. He’s a great guy and you lose track of time talking to him. Kudos to John and Karen for offering this alternative to a hotel room.

Stayed for 2 nights aboard the trawler yacht. End of October during some pretty rough weather. Constant rain and wind gusts in excess of 50 knots. Dry and snug as a bug the whole time. Warm and cozy. Location is great (away from the bustle of the city). The North End and rest of Boston easily accessible by several means and of course Uber. Jon and his wife were phenomenal hosts the whole time. Genuine and accommodating to any request. It wasn't our first time staying with them and we look forward to returning again as soon as we can.

If you are visiting Boston you should consider staying at the Green Turtle! Jon and Karen will take great care of you! Jon gave us informed ideas about how to plan our itinerary and how to get from place to place. The breakfasts were delicious and delivered to our front door at a time we requested! Loved sitting on the dock watching the sun come up and watching all of the boats going in and out! Great place and loved Jon and Karen!
