The Gilded Lily was a wonderful base from which to explore Boston, a fabulous and interesting city. When we arrived James went over the map with us, pointing out where to eat, what to see and all the main sites. He was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble for him. The location is perfect and the bed etc.... More

The room and house were charming in an elegant way, I really liked the breakfast, and the location was excellent. I was in Boston for business and therefore only met the host when I left, but he was a very nice person.

We just completed a three days stay in Boston at the Gilded Lily. The room was beautifully furnished, very comfortable, spotless clean and the location was perfect. If you come with a car – be sure to book the parking space. Breakfast is enough to start your day. The kitchen is fully equipped and you can bring your own groceries.... More

The property and street is gorgeous, quintessential Boston brownstone. Our host, James, was so personable and focused on our interests, while giving us complete freedom to ourselves thereafter. Some beyond the norm tweaks to delight us and make the stay both more enjoyable and cost effective for time and expense were appreciated! Exactingly clean and well appointed, the room offered... The Gilded Lily is an absolute jewel in Boston's Back Bay. The rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable, and James could not have been more welcoming (be sure to take him up on his offer of a little information on the city). He went above and beyond in every way to make my stay comfortable. The bed was fantastic! The only... More

Great location in a historical brownstone property and lovely neighbourhood, close to metro and easy walking to sights. Lovely room and toiletries and great kitchen facilities. James was very accommodating and helpful and we were provided with parking in crowded Boston.

The Gilded Lily has well appointed, beautiful rooms in a very upscale neighborhood! It's a great location and very easy to get downtown. The owner is very gracious and showed us some of the remodeling he had performed! Highly recommended!

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
