Whatever you do. DON'T stay at this place. Not budget price for MUCH worse than budget accommodation. Where do you start. We had already had 3 great nights in a hotel on the outskirts of Boston at the start of a 2000 mile sightseeing holiday and finished with our last night in a hotel with a great description near to...

Located within a five-minute walk of the USS Constitution, this hotel has a bit of an institutional feel: * Lobby is more for the YMCA downstairs than a hotel * A lot of hard surfaces (cinderblock walls), basic carpets, basic bathroom finishings * One slow elevator to reach the 3-6 floors and housekeeping/maintenance people are always using it * Wi-fi...

I should have know that the best price for a hotel in central Boston would be a YMCA. Yes it's basic: breeze block walls, no A/C etc. Although the whiff of 'mary jane' on my corridor suggested that someone was having a fun evening. Weird location - feels like the middle of nowhere but a short walk under the freeway...

This was not my first time here. I stayed here years ago, back in 2001. I remember it well. The Constitution Inn was a hotel that catered to the military. I'm not sure it was only military, but it was a great place to stay when visiting Boston. They would determine your rate based on your rank, so the lower...

My husband loved it, everything was perfect for his height, I'm only 5'7 1/2" and I found the place dreadful. We guessed it's because it was created so long ago to accommodate the height of people back then. If you are tall, I hope you can squat because the toilet was so low, it was crazy. Even the workers there,...

This review is a bit belated - I stayed here for 4 nights in May 2013 for a business trip in the Charlestown Navy Yard area. There aren't a whole lot of hotels in the vicinity to choose from, so it was either this hotel, which is directly across the street for where I had to be for work, or...

The Inn was built adjacent to the Charlestown YMCA and so it is just what one would expect. I was traveling on a budget so it was perfect for me as I did not spend much time there anyway. The wi-fi will not work so don't count on that, although if you really need a computer there is one you...

My family of four stayed four nights at The Constitution Inn in mid-August, and we had a wonderful stay. We reserved the two room suite, which was perfect for us. I couldn't believe the size of the two rooms, we had an incredible amount of space plus a kitchenette (which we didn't utilize, other than the refrigerator). The beds were...

We booked in here after a trip from Heathrow for 4 nights. The room looked OK, nice hob and oven, microwave and fridge freezer but....no pans, china or cutlery asked for plates and cutlery at reception and were given plastic hmmm. Fridge door had a broken handle and no runners in freezer. The bedroom has no view just a skylight...

Staying in Charlestown

Neighborhood Profile
Charlestown
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.
