I can imagine that the Langham Boston was one of the best hotels in Boston at one time. Today the comfort is gone, technology is ancient, and hospitality a bit too traditional even for me (and I'm not a millennial.) I gave the hotel 4 stars because they are trying, just not trying with any creativity.
We could not have asked for more professional service and comfortable accommodation. Great breakfast menu, with massive weekend buffet. Good bar with excellant seafood selections. Walking to many good restaurants. Love the walking distance mix of "new world" financial district convenience and "old Boston" historic streets.
The hotel is nice, it’s well located in the financial district and the service is great but the rooms could use a renovation. It just seems to be old and no updates in the decor in a really long time.
I've heard that the Langham has new owners and that a remodel is coming. It was clear from my short stay that they are prepping for that now. For a high end hotel, this was an average experience. Although the rooms were up to what I have come to expect from the Langham (stayed here often times in the last few years), the staff and amenities were less accommodating. For me, the location is great and past service has been exceptional. Thus, I'll look forward to the new Langham experience.
Stayed at the Langham recently on business. I found it to be very clean, conveniently located to my companies office in the financial district, and fairly priced compared to other options I had. The staff was very friendly and my room was quiet. I made use of the gym and spa which I found to be good. They have have full lap pool with several lanes, better than most in a city location. I would recommend a stay at the Langham.
