Several people have compared this place to a homeless shelter. They are not exaggerating. I have seen prison rooms in movies that look more welcoming than this dump. I felt very unsafe at this place (the rooms had a single old, weak lock). The men's bathrooms had a double shared shower, if you're in the mood for dating I suppose.... More

Hello! I spent one weekend in september in YMCA Greater Boston whilst I was in NYC for three weeks. As I've seen in Tripadvisor I thought it was to be a hell, a pigsty or something like that. I was really prepared when I put my feet on the YMCA. I've arrived on the morning, at 13 more or less.... More

Rooms are very small and there is no A/C... they give you fans but if you are planning to go in the summer and find it difficult to sleep in a bed of seat...... GO ELSEWHERE but great location

Arrived on a Sunday and the girl at the front desk was slow but super friendly. She pulled out city maps and helped us find our way around. The more you ask the more info you get. We were supposed to get a semi private room that we would share a bathroom with 1 other room ended up in a... More

This YMCA was not worth the money. The front staff were unprofessional. The place felt like a half way house. None of the urinals worked and the only shower that worked was the shared double shower. Mirrors were missing from the washbasins, so a simple shave became a hassle. The room smelt and was noisy (traffic and snoring from next... More

we wanted to cry when we arrived here having stayed at a lovely hotel in new york. the hostel is indeed a homeless shelter which we found to be quite apparent.the toilets were the most disturbing part of our stay as the females showers were communal and not the cleanest. as a young woman i did not feel safe in... The writer who described this place as a rehab facility and the guests as "inmates" was right on the money. I concur with everything he said. The only thing I can add is the terrible noise: people slamming doors and yelling or talking loud in the halls all night, with no consideration at all for others (paper-thin thin walls and... More

This is a homeless shelter that rents rooms. The main lobby is lavish, but once you get upstairs (3rd Floor) you have a locked mental ward and rehab client's rooms all around you. The men's shared bathroom should be condemned. Broken toilets and urinals are the majority. Toothless women "inmates" are even in-and-out of the men's bathrooms lookin for their... More

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighborhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
