Staying at the Eliot Hotel is like staying with old friends. From the welcome when you park your car to check in to every time you come and go, the staff is the friendliest you've ever met. Add to that a spacious room, comfortable beds, and a marble bathroom, all set in the best spot in Boston, and it's a total winner. Set on the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue, it's a nice walk to Fenway Park and around the corner from Newbury Street. There is nothing not to love about this place, and I never stay anywhere else.

This was our first stay here and it was such a treat. We felt like we were back in one of Europe’s boutique hotels. Beautiful hotel, delightful staff, and great location. I highly recommend this elegant gem!

We were supposed to stay next door at Harvard Club but there was a booking error. Eliot offered $400 off their “usual” rate of $700. Not inexpensive! When we entered the room, there was urine and pubic hair on the toilet seat. Also, apparently our “deal” meant staying in the worst room in the hotel. We could hear conversations and a sneeze as if they were in our room. Turns out we were connected to the elevator hallway so every time the elevator was used, we could easily hear the conversation, and the heavy elevator cables woke me out of a sound sleep throughout the night. My son slept on sofa bed that was literally lopsided. This could’ve been a great experience in a beautiful hotel but it ruined an otherwise beautiful trip.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review her stay. It is certainly regrettable that this guest experienced so many disappointments that "ruined a great trip." The Eliot prides itself on the priority we place in cleanliness and for the awards we have received for housekeeping. This guest's experience was most definitely an extraordinary anomaly. The guest left the room to go to dinner right after checking in and informed our front desk of this issue. Housekeeping recleaned the room and ensured everything was in perfect condition for the guest's return. The guest did not reach out to us at any point thereafter. It is true that during a very busy evening when most hotels were full committed, the Eliot reached out to assist this guest by matching her rate at the Club next door where they also were fully committed and could not accommodate her. We felt fortunate to be able to offer her our last room so late in the evening. This particular room was located adjacent to an elevator, which for the vast majority of guests poses no issue. Prospective guests who are light sleepers or noise sensitive are encouraged to inform the hotel prior to arrival so that we can have the opportunity to select the best available room to meet expectations. Unfortunately, checking in so late in the day when the hotel was fully reserved did not allow us an opportunity to do so. I appreciate that "this could've been a great experience at a beautiful hotel," and hope this guest would consider providing the hotel with another opportunity to be our guest, in order to realize the type of experience we consistently strive to create. If so, I would invite this guest to contact me directly and I would be delighted to assist in any way possible. Joseph, AGM: email@eliothotel.com

What a fabulous place! The location couldn't be better ... even had a dog park right across the street. And, every single staff member was spectacular. I was so sad to leave them at the end of my stay.

Elegant and Immaculate suites. Gracious staff. Impeccable service. Attention to every detail including hand written notes and fresh baked cookies to welcome you to your suite. Boston charm at its best. We would choose The Eliot over any hotel in Boston, looking out at beautiful, quintessential Commonwealth Avenue and minutes from Newbury Street shops and galleries.

This is my favorite hotel, perfectly situated on the Commonwealth Mall, walking distance to the Commons, Newberry Street… The staff treat you like a dear friend and are so helpful and kind. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, and it’s very quiet. The food from the restaurant or the Harvard Club is also excellent. This beautiful, sparkling clean jewel of a hotel even welcome dogs (and they seem genuinely delighted to have them)! If you do bring your pup, or even on your own, the pedestrian walking area down the mall to the commons is so lovely. I will never stay anywhere else in Boston!

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review her stay and for the generous rating! Our friendly and welcoming staff truly do "treat you like an old friend," and ensure our guests are well cared for. The Eliot is a pet friendly hotel and we recognize that pets are part of the family and sometimes must accompany them when travelling. The hotel's ideal location on park-like Commonwealth Avenue, in Boston's elegant Back Bay district, provides an ideal opportunity for walking, filled with beautiful architecture, shops and lots of people watching. I'm delighted this guest "will never stay anywhere else in Boston," and look forward to welcome her back once again.

The Elliot Hotel a is European experience nestled on the best corner in Boston. The staff members are as quietly professional as they are friendly. The location is walking distance to the best shopping in Boston as well as many of the historical landmarks. Exceptionally clean and comfortable, yet with the feel of a historic mansion. It has been our families favorite Boston destination for over 25 years.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review his stay and for the high rating. Being a member of our family of repeat guests for over 25 years is a true honor and something we don't take for granted. The Eliot's small size, enviable location on park-like Commonwealth Avenue, and our spacious designer suites that guests often say feels like they are staying in their own private apartment, makes returning to the Eliot feel like home. I'm delighted this guest finds his home with us to be the "Best Corner in Boston," and look forward to welcoming him back once again.

The staff is wonderful. The rooms are decorated old-school style -- reminded me of my grandparents house in a good way. Beds are comfortable but the sofa bed was not. Our one bedroom suite was very roomy and it was great to have an extra sink. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Location is great -- near restaurants and convenient to the T Green Line (subway).

Very Poor room. 1. Bed Mattresses were so old and saggy. 2. Shower doesn't fit an a normal size person Im only 180lbs 3. I had to use the mattress off the pull out bed on the floor. 4. I reached out to people at the desk and they had no good answers...as to what I could do. 5. The noise that comes out of the AC unit wakes you up from your sleep... 6. The building is in a convenient location for access to other ares

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review his stay but regret very much that his experience did not meet his expectations. I'm quite perplexed because the vast majority of our guests comment on the high quality of our beds and mattresses. Our mattresses are routinely replaced to ensure the highest quality sleep. And as a hotel that is dedicated to providing personalized service, any issue, concern or disappointment is provided the highest level of attention in order to provide a solution however we can. That this did not apparently happen is, indeed, disappointing. I invite this guest to contact me, Joseph, personally to discuss his stay in greater detail, as our objective is always to create exceptional stay experiences and to make things right when they diverge from expectations.
