    A phenomenal wedding weekend
We spent a phenomenal weekend with our adult children to celebrate our wedding. The hotel was phenomenal. Rooms, service etc. But it was the people who worked there who made it an incredible experience. From the doormen to the bellman to the front desk to the reservations people to housekeeping….to a person they could not have been nicer, friendlier or more accommodating. We would go back in a heartbeat. The restaurant UNI catered our wedding and that was beyond expectation as well. They are very well know for their food, but again, it was the people who made it all special. The GM, Event specialist, and serving staff could not have been nicer or more wonderful. It makes you wonder how all of these amazing folks could work at one place. We love The Eliot. And let me say thank you again to all of those special people who made our celebration the best it could be. Thank you. In case I forgot, the rooms are beautiful and authentic, not cookie cutter or all the same. And the food at UNI….amazing doesn’t begin to describe the food.
I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review her stay and for the beautiful compliments and high ratings. It's always an honor when someone chooses to celebrate a momentous occasion, such as a wedding, at our hotel, and I am delighted we were able to create an exceptional experience for such a special stay. Our friendly and genuinely caring staff is committed to ensuring we care for our guests as best as possible. I'm delighted this was evident and that it made a difference. Our Japanese gastropub, UNI, is truly an amazing restaurant that raises culinary arts to the highest level. It's gratifying to know they could also share in the contribution to a "phenomenal wedding weekend."

Some issues, but sorted in the end
I spent a single night here as a getaway gift from my husband. The doorman and front desk clerk were both very kind and helpful on arrival. I did notice a stale cigarette smell when I got to the 7th floor and into my room. I just assumed it was an old building and maybe this had previously been the smoking floor. The smell didn't last as I entered my room, it didn't bother me or my sinuses or anything, and I honestly thought very little of it. That night I dined in the restaurant; they creatively established the bottom floor rooms into semi-private dining areas as a way to socially distance customers for COVID19 precautions. The food was pricey but delicious, I recommend giving it a try, just go prepared to drop a pretty penny. The dining staff were kind and very professional. Everything went great, got to shop right there eon Newbury St., valet service was smooth, checked out with ease the next day. I am giving it a 4 star because I was charged $200 as a smoking penalty. I couldn't tell what the charge was so when my husband called they informed us that it was because I allegedly smoked in the room -I was pretty upset - I don't smoke at all. The person we spoke with on the phone basically laughed at us saying that no one else had used the room since a week before my arrival so it had to have been me. She said she would have the room inspector contact us but implied it was effectively a lost cause because they knew it was me. At this time I did not feel that the Eliot Staff was trying, in any way to help us sort this out. However, despite the discouraging phone call, the inspector apologized and they refunded the money to us promptly. I wish they had the tone "lets figure this out" and not "you know what you did", but I can't fault the entire hotel because one staff member was having a bad day. I do recommend staying here, I hope to take my family here in the future for a night in the city; just note, if you smell smoke, report it!
I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review her stay and for the kind compliments about our guest service, restaurant and enviable location. With respect to the "smoking charge," I regret that when calling to dispute the charge, her perception was that the veracity of her statement was being questioned. That certainly isn't ever our intention. The staff member whom she spoke with intended to provide information to support the rationale for the charge. We, of course, always endeavor to ensure interactions with our guests are affirming and helpful. I am sorry this was not the case initially, but am gratified this guest was satisfied with the final resolution to the matter. I am delighted this guest continues to "recommend" the Eliot and intends to return once again. It will certainly be my pleasure to welcome her back.

    Excellent 1 night stay
Our house was under construction so my family needed a place to stay. We decided to stay at the Eliot Hotel for one night. The experience was fantastic! We parked outside and the bellman was very friendly to us. We were greeted kindly by the front desk. The check-in process was very smooth and it was contactless. The room was very comfortable and clean. The housekeeper gave us extra towels and bathroom supplies and made the sofa bed. They gave us complementary masks which was very thoughtful of them. I highly recommend booking a room at this hotel as the location of the hotel is fantastic being near Newbury st and the Prudential Building there are many places to get take out or dine safely. The staff is what makes the hotel great, makes you feel like long time friends with them.
I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review his stay and for the high rating! As a hotel that is dedicated to providing personalized service, it is gratifying to know that our genuinely caring and friendly staff made the Eliot a "great hotel" for this guest. During this challenging period of COVID-19, the stringent protocols the hotel has implemented have reassured our guests. I'm delighted this guest could feel safe and at home at our beautiful boutique hotel!

Lovely hotel with historic charm. Excellent staff that were very accommodating and attentive. We stayed for our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite that was beautifully appointed and included a sitting room, bar area and dressing area. The general manager brought cookies and water to our room. It was a perfect place to spend our anniversary.

We had a suite for two nights and it was lovely. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. The cooling system worked well. The beds are great but I have learned, from earlier visits to ask to have my duvet, which I find too warm doing the night, replaced with a top sheet and blanket. The only small ding is that the bathroom lacks counter space. We find the location great and the room a good value. The staff is courteous and helpful.

I wish to thank these guests for taking the time to review their stay and for the high rating. It is always gratifying to know when guests have had such a positive stay experience. The Eliot has won awards for our housekeeping services, something we strive to make a priority, so it is disappointing to know this experience was "marginal." We will explore and hopefully this was an anomaly, but I am delighted these guests "definitely recommend" the Eliot and "will stay in the future. It will be my pleasure to welcome them back again.

Wonderful old fashioned hotel in the heart of Boston. Great beds. A little dated in that you can tell it's very old, the bathroom layout was weird, etc. But, the front desk aimed to please and overall was a great little hotel.
