Rooms small but clean with nice decor. Staff friendly and helpful. Cozy Rooms missing key things like, adequate light. Adequate storage for clothes, iron. Desk. Chair! Even the Queen room missing things like desk top, kettle or coffee maker and chair. Like many hotels in the USA why no drinking glass or ceramic mug? No bath in bathroom (Sic.) /Shower room. A freindly manager told us they are updating adding more artwork getting a vending machine. I would advise getting at least a hot water urn first as they don't have a cafe on site or room service. Rooms do have fridges. The hotel is in an excelent location and if the days had been cooler we probably would have been out more near tea shops with seats. I gambled on expecting the rooms to be better appointed then some reviews said as they were not up to date. Seems they have trained staff now but still the residence lacks basics expected fhat price. Next time we will chose elsewhere unless they have pulled their socks up.…
The hotel was perfect for our needs. Clean, cute rooms with comfortable beds. Great location, right in the middle of things. Close to, shopping, restaurants, malls, and tours. Staff was friendly, patient, extremely helpful and accommodating. "shout out to Peter" for recommending some great nearby eateries. Would highly recommend.
I took my 10 year old son into Boston for his birthday weekend, and needed a nice hotel in a good location for a decent price as we had a busy itinerary. The Copley Square Hotel was exactly what we needed. I was able to check our bag hours before we checked into our room, every staff member we interacted with was pleasant and helpful (and very tolerant of my many questions; we don't travel often!), the hotel was clean, and the newer elevator was working all three days we were there. Our room (601) was exactly what we needed. Clean, cool and comfortable during Boston's heat wave! A spacious closet with hangers, a beside phone if you needed to call down, a desk with a lamp, a mini fridge, a safe, and a large TV. The bathroom was lovely, we had nice clean towels, a hair dryer, and amenities for the shower - which were much appreciated after walking around the city in the heat! Also, the wall paper in the bathroom and in the bedroom amused my son and I to no end and added such a touch of fun to the whole experience. I will say that we had a very busy schedule of sightseeing and as a result we only needed to sleep and shower in the room, and for that purpose it was absolutely perfect (and really, the air conditioning was a godsend this weekend!). We stayed two nights and housekeeping didn't come while we were there, but given the interactions I had with the staff I can assume that if I had needed anything it would have been provided. I suppose if you are used to luxury hotels with room service or breakfast/dinner buffets offered you might be disappointed, but we were in Boston to see the city, not spend all our time in the room. There are so many places to eat in the city, many of them steps from the hotel or a quick T ride away. The historic aspect of the hotel is wonderful, the location cannot be beat, and as I said every interaction we had with the staff was pleasant. This trip was my son's 10th birthday present and he has already asked if we can stay in the same room next year - so I would say it was a good weekend!…
We used Copley for a concert at Fenway. It was a great location and the hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. Get the suite upgrade as the standard room was small but worked for us. Parking is a separate charge as well. Overall great experience.
Our room was clean and comfortable. We weren't there for the amenities...we were there to explore all the sights of Boston. Within walking distance of Newbury Street shopping, restaurants, and House of Blues- our primary destination. Will be back.
My teen daughter and I were in town to tour colleges and sight see. This was the perfect hotel for us. The location is ideal. The "T" is right down the street. This is close to Newbury street for great shopping and restaurants. The Museum of Fine Arts is just down the road, along with NorthEastern University. The front desk was polite and helpful. And answered all my questions about the T. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. Honestly, we were not in town to hang out in our room only to sleep. If you don't need a lot of bells and whistles, stay here and save some money to spend in the North End on Italian food! I will definitely stay here again.
Came to Boston on a relatively short notice 2 night business trip and needed to stay in the Back Bay area but found a lot of the hotels were really expensive. Found this one and was pleased with the location and what it offered me. A couple of observations to avoid possible disappointment. This is a comfortable and quiet dormitory style hotel i.e. it’s a place to sleep and there is no restaurant breakfast etc but there’s plenty of great food options in a couple of minute walk. There is also no room servicing until you leave which again may or may not be an issue but there are toiletries provided and the WiFi is free and decent.
One of worst hotels ever. Dangerous place to stay. In room phones out of service. Management knows and does not care. Answer was “there are phones near the stairs”. One very slow elevator. Pray no fires or medical emergency. Absolutely no food or beverage service other than free bottled water (unless they run out). No where near the price they charge. Never again!
We’ve stayed at this hotel before about 6 years ago and had a good experience so we decided to book again. It is the most affordable option to stay in the Back Bay area of Boston but hear me now, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. This is a 2 star hotel at best This hotel is absolutely terrible now. The service from the girls at the concierge desk is awful. Long black hair with the manicured nails, I’m talking to you. Work on your RBF (resting b#%^€ face), work on how you speak to your guests. Your future is not bright if you stay the course you’re on. If any of my employees acted like you, I would have let you go on the spot. There was no valet parking, even though it was advertised in my booking and there is literally a street sign outside the hotel indicating valet parking. When I realized there was none, I had to drive around Boston without gps in a panic, not relaxing. When I told the RBF lady at the desk, instead of being sympathetic about the experience she tried to throw it in my face that valet parking was never an option and insisted I show her where I saw this. That was our very first experience for our 3 night stay. That night, the safe that was in our room (that we weren’t using) was beeping on its own throughout the whole night. I slept through it, my wife did not. We told the front desk about it the next morning and they said they would fix it. The safe continued doing the same thing the second night so obviously nothing got fixed. We told them again the next morning and they said they would fix it again while we were out for the day. When we got back that night, same thing beeping of the safe constantly. I went down to the desk told them our issue was still not fixed so they gave us a new room on a different floor. Before moving all our stuff over at 1am, I checked out the new room and it smelt like sour milk and the A/C did not work. The biggest issue of all was on the second night at 4am. My wife and I woke up to 2 drunk people trying to kick our door in. My wife was terrified and was enough to make her cry. I opened the door, yelled at these 2 guys and threatened to get physical to try and get rid of them to protect my wife. As they were leaving they spit on our door. We immediately called the front desk told them what happened and asked for assistance. We never had anyone contact us or get in touch with us to see if we were ok. The next morning I told the RBF lady about what happened, she had no record of anything happening but told me her manager would call us later in the day. I was never contacted by anyone. Our room was literally attacked, our safety threatened and not one staff member seemed to care at all. The other issues worth mentioning is the shower is meant for 5’5” people and there is absolutely no water pressure. The 1 elevator they have takes about 5 minutes to get to you and when you’re in it, you feel like it could go down at any given moment. This forces you to walk the stairs, so if you’re on floor 7, good luck. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I work my balls off 49 weeks of the year and when I get a week off I hope to make it count. This ruined our trip without question. This establishment made us sad, angry, scared and worst of all disappointed. GUYS, Spend the extra $100 and stay at the Marriott or Westin across the street. This hotel will go bankrupt within a year based on this and most of the other recent reviews it’s been getting. Do not book here.…
I thought I had booked the Marriott Copley Square and was a little concerned as I approached the front desk. I was in the wrong hotel. I was only staying for one night and the room was pre-paid so I thought I'd make the best of it. Only one of the two elevators was working - not a great start. When I got to the room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was relatively large, as was the bathroom. It was neat and clean and had a refrigerator and microwave that I didn't use. The bed was comfortable with luxury type fluffy bedding that I would have expected from a luxury hotel. The internet worked, there was a very small desk and HD TV with all the requisite channels. What more does a business traveler need? The location is a block or so from Copley Square and there are lots of great shops and restaurants all around - there isn't one in the building. So all in all it's a luxury hotel without the usual amenities like room service, restaurant, garage etc. Eduardo at the front desk offered me a complementary bottle of water when I arrived, booked my dinner reservation and lent me a Hotel umbrella as I headed off to dinner in the rain. By the way, I saved about $50 vs the other luxury hotels that actually have amenities. That's why I labeled this a very high value hotel. PS take a minute to look at the hotel architecture and history. It's a pretty interesting old building.…
