The Marriott was located in Back Bay Area of Boston close to Newbury strip of restaurants and shops . Car valet was unavailable due to Covid but self park was available for $42 daily with in and out privileges. The TV remotes was wrapped in plastic and other objected sanitized for the current COVID situation. The air conditioning was not regulated and was able to adjust my own comfort level
We checked in today 9/2/20, I booked this hotel in Boston for a change of venue. Generally we stay in the north end, big mistake. As you can see from the pictures this hotel needed a renovation a while ago. I don’t even know if we can manage a shower in this tub. The chair pictured has a huge stain on it that is not from us who knows what kind of DNA is on it. The price was right but don’t be fooled go to the North End instead. Very disappointed
Staff was unfriendly and rooms are outdated. My room had blood on the sheets upon check-in. Minimal service offerings, garage is very small, food was average. I would certainly look elsewhere in Copley.
An anticipated good stay for the Inncredible New England section of my Matt Nelson Reviews dot com site ended up exceeding all important expectations. I must add that hotel and corporate management went well above and beyond both before the trip and when things went sideways to circumstances beyond their control. I was booked in an executive suite for a “Minneapolis-style” vacation President’s Day Weekend, The idea was that the extensive network of skywalks would have allowed for more than ample dining and shopping pleasure if the February Boston weather was not conducive for being outside. The 40- degree days resulted in staying within a few blocks the entire time. The fact that the (presumably Masshole local) was laying siege to my booked room and had the Do Not Disturb sign out three hours past checkout was concerning mostly because the hotel was fully booked that night, Although staying in a standard room would have been disappointing when a suite was reasonably expected, the larger concern was that honoring the request of the clerk to be patient and have faith would have resulted in the current guest not relinquishing possession that night and my not having any room. The hotel temporarily placed me in a standard room, which was surprisingly large and had a comfy settee. That shirt sanctuary ended with being upgraded to the spectacular Presidential Suite on the top floor, An article on my site provides the glorious details as to that experience. Similarly, getting up early the next morning to swim before other guests descended on the pool led to finding that it was closed due to the type of hiccup that can always occur. Once again, the hotel came through. The takeaway from all this is that running a massive well-designed hotel that offers awesome bargains in a prime location is a challenge. This is not to mention dealing with “elite” guests who DEMAND the royal treatment merely for being corporate friends of Bill. The takeaway is that Copley Marriott staff does what it can to out the odds forever in your favor and goes even more above and beyond to put right what once went wrong.…
Attended a conference there this week and it's a great place to stay. Staff is incredible. Polite. Kind. Patient. Professional top to bottom. Room was very clean and comfy. King size bed . Big tv. Selection of channels was meh, but you won't be in the room that much. The location is surrounded by amazing food. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Delicious. Porto is a must. It's a longish walk to the historic stuff but a short uber/taxi ride. Fenway is down the street. One thing. The pillows are terrible. Hard. Flat.
