I am a Diamond for life member at Hilton, so I decided to stay at the Marriott Copley on this visit as I am only 4 nights away from Platinum Elite for 2021. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I met friends for drinks at the Hilton Back Bay (where I usually stay) and then went back to the Marriott to grab dinner and a glass of wine. I asked where I could get a bite to eat/drink and I was told due to COVID there was nothing open for dine-in, for food or drinks. Amazing how from one hotel to another it is so different. First off, the Marriott ( like most hotels) are very busy, to completely ignore the need to provide service to your most valuable guests and blame it on a pandemic that while real and there was a time for drastic measures has past. Business are allowed to be open, and they should be. Anyone uncomfortable should not stay. For the guests that do show up, remember you are in the business to serve their needs, not lower your costs and blame it on a pandemic that is completely different today than a year ago. This hotel also has guards posted at the entrance to make sure you are wearing a mask and to make certain you have a key. I felt like I was staying at a hotel, somewhere other than in the USA, much less Boston. The owners and managers of this asset along with the Marriott (The Parent) need to wake up. Remember, a fish rots from the head. Respectfully submitted

We went down to Boston for a family weekend away to enjoy the aquarium/ zoo and some downtime. I have two kids- 3 and 5 years old, so a hotel with a pool was very important to us. I am also a travel agent, so I consider myself fairly up to date on travel communications. Before I booked this location, I called and asked if their pool was open- they confirmed it was. Great. Upon check in, the front desk also confirmed the pool was open and my bell man told me it was on the 5th floor and told us to have fun. At this point, I had 3 points of communication with Marriott staff, all regarding the pool. Fast forward to that night, we enjoyed dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and had two kids out of their minds excited to go to the pool. We got all ready in our room and headed down. When we arrived at the pool, we were stopped at the front and asked if we had made a reservation. Full. Stop. I had literally talked directly to THREE staff members solely about this pool. NO ONE mentioned it was reservation only. NOT ONCE. Since it was all booked up that night, I got to cart my two crying young kids back to the room, and we weren’t able to even use the pool on our trip. Marriott, this communication is unacceptable. I literally book people into your resorts for a living, but I won’t be recommending this location anytime soon. Between your website, paperwork in our room, and the three different employees I spoke to, there were 5 points of communication between us for anyone to mention the reservation system. How would guests ever know this before they get in their bathing suits and just show up to get turned away? Furthermore, if I had known this amenity would be off limits I would have booked elsewhere with a pool, or saved $60 a night booking somewhere without one. You need to do better next time.

We arrived early and they let us check in no problem. We are a family of 5 and our room was kind of tight. We called and they gave us a larger room, no problem. Very friendly and helpful staff! The room was very nice. Comfortable just what I would expect from a luxury hotel.

Enjoyed our stay here. The only complaint was a lack of free wi fi. I have been at much lesser hotels that still had this feature. That part was disappointing, Everything else was good. The pool and exercise areas were nice.

Rooms are very business standard. Clean and comfortable. 20th floor was very quiet. Nice views of the city. Near Back Bay and the South End. Room had everything— fridge, iron and ironing board, safe, desk and was a good size double. Beds soft and comfortable. Large TV. Decor is uninspired and very generic. Keurig coffee maker and radio alarm clock were both broken. Management replaced them for me.
