We have visited Grove Park Inn for many years. The beauty of the building and the property is the only reason I gave it a 2 star. AAA needs to revisit their 4-star rating of this hotel. Since Omni took over the GP, we have seen a decline in the type of luxury you would expect to see at Grove Park or anywhere else you would see 4 diamond rating. The staff has always been great but now if there is a problem or a complaint, it's almost like their hands are tied and they only say sorry! Great customer service would bend over backwards to make it right. Omni GPI doesn't do that anymore....just sorry is what you will get. During our stay (last night) we noticed the following (we were in a King Mountain View Room in Main Building): -Bed was very hard as a rock. -Sheets had a strange smell from their laundry detergent which gave us a headache. -Room experience (now) is similar to Sleep Inn Hotels. -It took 5 mins for the water to get warm. -We were in a king bed but the headboard was full size and we only had one side table.

Hotel's Favorite
The GPI is one of our favorite get-aways. We have been here several times, and we always find something new to enjoy. It is not cheap; look elsewhere for cheap. The rooms in the older section are small and reflective of the era when they were built. Most travelers of today will find them wanting. However, on our first visit we found them quaint and interesting. Since then, we have chosen to stay in the newer rooms. So, be warned. On this visit, I had a great massage and spa experience. Had a great round of golf; the golf course was in very good condition. And all of our meals (again, not cheap) varied from very good to excellent. This is a totally unique place. It has no peers that I have found. Yes, it has its faults, but in my opinion the pluses far ourweigh the negatives. And, you will not find a more beautiful setting or nicer people. Expand your horizons a bit; check out the Grove Park Inn.

Have stayed many times over the last ten years. The property and views are wonderful, but the guest rooms are below par and getting worse. The rooms have always been very basic and dated -- perhaps that was part of the charm. But now the bedding is cheap and uncomfortable, and the bathrooms and toiletries are comparable to a Comfort Inn or Days Inn. We shared this feedback with the front desk and they were gracious and apologetic. My guess is that their hands are tied until management decides to make the investment to turn GPI back into a competitive luxury property.

My wife and I spent 2 nights here with our 4 sons over Christmas. The atmosphere here is incredible. From the very first staff member to the last as we were leaving, it was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and truly seemed happy to be at their job. The facility is beautiful and we really enjoyed the gingerbread house competition. We hope to get back again.

I value honesty in advertising. We intended to stay in the historic section that would have offered a great view of the property but when we arrived we were told we had been moved to the Sammons wing and the view was poor. We should have been told about the move before arriving. Also, if you are going to include a "Resort Charge" that can't be refused then it ought to be included in the room price and details described in the amenities. Additionally, the required parking charges are too high. We probably won't stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback based on your recent stay. We would like to apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations. The traditional queen room was upgraded out of the historic section, into one of our premium king rooms, due to a mandatory Main Inn closure that occurred during your stay to upgrade our WiFi. While we work to continuously upgrade and maintain the property, there are times we must close sections for projects. We apologize for this occurrence and that this was not more clearly communicated to you. With this room upgrade, the view remained comparable. We invite you to book directly through our website or call and speak to one of our excellent reservation experts for your next stay to gain valuable information about happenings on property. Please reach out to (800) 438-5800 for your next booking or with any further questions.
