Nice hotel. Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable but bring your own pillows. The worst pillows we have ever tried to sleep on. The closet is so shallow the hangers have to be turned at a angle. The bathroom is small. One sink with about 10 inches on each side. Not what we expected for a highly rated hotel. Floor 8 is terribly noisy. We could hear people moving around above us on the lobby level into the night.

Just returned from Grove Park Inn. Can’t say enough great things about it. We stayed in the main inn and our room had a Mountain View which was incredible! The room, the food and the staff were all excellent! We were there for fireworks on the 4th and they were awesome as well. Highly recommend!

I just tried cancelled a stay for two nights. We have a sick member of the family and will not be able to stay there as planned. I called just a few hours after the cancellation deadline (morning after) and they would not budge. We were loyal Grove Park Inn customers for years and always recommend it to friends and family, but we will never stay there again or recommend it. The inflexibility is not appreciated, especially when we have never asked for a cancellation exception before and have spent quite a bit of money there over the years. I happen to know the hotel is fully booked for the weekend and likely our room would be rebooked. Terrible customer service. By comparison, Marriott does not ever behave this way.

This hotel continues to disappoint. We take our daughters to camp and give the Omni GPI a try every year but this was my last. We paid $700 for a double queen room. The level of dirtiness and outdated furnishings is amazing to me. I truly can’t believe people still come to the hotel. The amount of dust is appalling. The shower is covered in mildew. The towels are all tough and have threads missing. Just so disappointing. The spa is in similar need of updating. The leather chairs are cracking, the tables are chipped, and the refreshments are lacking. Do better GPI. Update your hotel …although it needs a complete overhaul so I suspect this historic hotel will deteriorate to the point of no return.

After reading some reviews, I was nervous to check/in for our anniversary celebration at the Omni GPI. However, we were very pleased with our stay. One must appreciate the fact that the inn was built in 1913. We stayed in a room in the historic section, which has been restored. The pamphlet in the room explains the restoration and what pieces/design aspects were chosen. Very interesting. We stayed in Room 455. It was very quiet. It’s the corner room next to the elevator, which we didn’t hear any noise from. The windows open, which let in a cool breeze at night. We spent one day at the spa, which was one of the nicest spa facilities we’ve been to. There are indoor and outdoor features, men’s, women’s and joint. Along with a spa cafe and servers at the outdoor pool area. Highlights: variety of on-site dining options, night time entertainment at Elaine’s Dueling Piano Bar, hiking trail, sports complex, tennis and golf, shopping, outdoor pool (quick shuttle ride away) and AMAZING Mountain View’s! The hospitality was amazing! From the front desk and guest services, to the waitstaff, the elevator operators, valet and the shuttle bus driver. Every single person on the GPI team radiated positivity and enthusiasm for making sure the guests had a wonderful experience.

Its living on past glory for the most part and fair play to the owners they’ve tried to keep up. But honestly it’s a bit musty and fusty and it’s a tough property to maintain competition with more modern luxury hotels like the four seasons or European luxury hotels (The Kitzhof in Kitzbuhel for example). It’s worth reading a brief history of the Inn to see how they’ve modernized over the years. And it’s a pity about the prices which I suppose they have to charge to keep up. The price of the spa and extra services are very high especially if you’ve stayed in real luxury European hotels where such amenities are either included in the room price, the “resort fee” or are affordable. For example a couple using the spa for one day with a massage could run over $1k. The food prices are also high - the bar is a good option and the staff are great (as they are everywhere in the Inn). The pool is a bit of a distance away (and fairly ordinary by luxury hotel standards) although walkable by the golf path or via a shuttle. The spa pool looks nice (from the veranda!) although not included in the resort fee only via a spa fee). But having said that when one is relaxing on the famous veranda at sunset with a cold drink it’s hard to beat so it’s worth the price of a couple of nights to enjoy that, and local hikes. And of course to be a part of history even if only for a few days!

We were there to celebrate our 40th anniversary. While we have been to Asheville before, this was our first visit to the GPI. The property is in need of a great deal of maintenance and is grossly overpriced. The staff were nice. It was crowded with long wait times at all the restaurants. There was a wedding party held outside with loud music that literally rattled our windows until after 10 pm the second evening. The room was musty and had mold in the shower. We were scheduled for a third night. I requested an early departure and the kind person at the front desk allowed us to cancel the last day. She offered a discount for a future stay; however we will not be back.

The hotel is really historic and interesting as well as being beautiful with lots of amenities. If possible stay on the Club floor where you will get amazing service from the super competent staff. We simply love all the people working up on the floor lounge! Kristie, Amy,Mark, Nick, and Tim were wonderful and so helpful in every regard. The hotel should be very proud to have such conscious and friendly staff working there. We were so happy with our experience that we have already booked our next stay.

Let me start by saying this was my second work visit to GPI. The issues with my room this year (2022) were the same issues I had with my room and experience preCOVID. Both times the shower in my room had mildew/mold all over the walls. This tells me they do not bleach the showers—a huge red flag at any time. For the price, I do not expect to need flip flops for my shower. This was also the second time the room had a broken/ burnt out lamp. Given the shortage of light in the room, this is an issue. The temp in the rooms don’t go below about 69degrees, so if you are like me and really enjoy a cold room, forget about it! The hallways were quite warm as well. My room was ground floor, facing the air conditioning units. Should you find yourself in this room, be sure to check the windows. I didn’t realize until after I’d been in the room over 24hours that the window was open. It simply never occurred to me to check to be sure windows were locked. The staff saw fair—none of the southern hospitality I’d expected. The lobby is nice and the lobby view is exceptional, but I can’t recommend a stay.

Spent three days at gpi as part of my first visit to Asheville. The hotel property is great and historically interesting. The staff were genuinely helpful and truly friendly. Plenty to do in terms of activity. Food was good despite a somewhat institutional nature of menu. Additional lighter options would be nice. Seemed to do a nice job accommodating families, conferences, and couples. But…I’ve been to many places like gpi, and I have to say more than any of them, gpi noticeably seemed to do everything in its power to keep you on grounds. I get that the business model is to monetize the guest through ancillary charges beyond the rack rate. I really do. But from the absolute crap “local map” I was given by the concierge, to the poor collateral to allow guests to consider on site and offsite options, it was as though all of the rest of the area was a state secret. It left a residual bad taste in my mouth. Asheville is a very interesting area, with some truly spectacular outdoors, to some funky culture downtown, to some great food. And that’s not even mentioning that other little property across town that many people come to visit. In sum, I would not come here if I were trying to experience Asheville and the surrounding area. But I would come here if I just wanted to hang out at a destination hotel. But this is not the
