The best place to stay in a Asheville, family friendly, great staff, and prestigious wilderness all around... visit for a while, remember for a life time. The pool was clean and prolonging a healthy atmosphere, the security guard was very friendly, with outstanding morals toward his job and the teavors.

Professional, friendly customer service. Historical atmosphere. Pool, breakfast and a talk with 83 year old owner was memorable experience. Recommended for folks who remember the motor lodge era. We had a great stay at the Mountaineer!

I am with the people who liked this place. The place was clean, friendly and the breakfast was nice considering it is complimentary, and includes a variety of fresh fruit (melon, apples, bananas and fresh strawberries one morning in addition to bagels, creme cheese, donuts, etc). I liked the wood finish in my room. I also appreciate the friendly, non-corporate... More

This is a nice, quaint inn with lots of style. My girlfriend and I went up to Asheville for a wedding, so we only stayed one night, but this place had everything we needed. We are fans of elaborate neons, so we were definitely charmed when we first arrived. Had a comfortable rest that night and then a quick dip... More

Very nice experience. The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space to stretch out and relax. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of options for dinner nearby. An overall top notch hotel.

Asheville is a really cool, hip, exciting city. There are a lot of neat things going on and a ton of things to see. That being said, every room anywhere near Asheville is ridiculously expensive. I was really happy to find and affordable room at The Mountaineer Inn. It's right in the middle of everything. Literally dozens of restaurants withing... More

We stayed here BECAUSE it is a vintage motel, and were not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You quickly feel like family, especially at breakfast in the office. Relaxed and informal atmosphere; everyone says hello and seems genuinely happy that you're there. The security guard was especially friendly. The owner (since the 60's) was on-premises frequently and... More

From it's iconic neon sign, mid-century architecture, refreshing pool and spacious rooms...the Mountaineer Inn is where to stay when travelling through Asheville, NC. At night the glow of vintage neon throughout the property soothes the weary travellers soul and the clean and comfortable rooms guarantee a good nights rest!

Thank you valued guest for such a nice review. Folks are really enjoying our pool this year, with a new sandy looking deck, and brand new privacy fence to shield sunbathers from the main road. We are continuing our upgrades, and will soon boast a new and larger gazebo for picnics and possibly music performers! Our beautiful signs were just... More

For the price you pay, its worth the stay! The location is great, the funky signage the best, the staff the most welcoming (beyond belief!), the rooms simple (who really needs more?), the coffee the best, pray there are some donuts left, and now that there's some renovations going on, its bound to change the reservation the locals have about... We were passing through Ashville over the Memorial Weekend. This was the only motel we could find. Upon arrival, the attendant at the desk was very frazzled. She said they were busier than they had anticipated. We did not check the room before deciding to stay because there was nothing else available in Ashville. When we opened the door, the... More

Dear valued guest, How unfortunate that you felt it better to demoralize us at a later date, than just let us know at the time, that the room was not up to par. We are so happy to try to accommodate folks who are fair and honest with us. We know we have issues but, I can assure you that... More
