This is a lovely bed and breakfast located in a beautiful part of town. The innkeeper was excellent on keeping us informed… unfortunately we were not able to stay for breakfast so they provided us with a yummy muffin and fruit for the road! Would definitely stay again if traveling thru Asheville!
My wife and I chose The Lion and the Rose B&B to use as "home base" while we celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary. Over the years we have stayed at many good B&B's - we love them. Karen and Steve, the innkeepers were fantastic. Our time at The Lion and the Rose Bed and Breakfast in the center of the historic and charming Montford area of Asheville was exceptional. Our room was A+++. The breakfasts were gourmet and first class - A+++ (again). Of all of our stays all over the country at good B&B's, The Lion and the Rose is our new favorite. Thank you Steve and Karen. You are special and your beautiful B&B is nothing but quality and kind hospitality. We'll be back!!
We came to The Lion and the Rose for a short wedding anniversary trip. Although we had been to Ashville before, this was our first time at The Lion and the Rose. Steve and Karen were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed our short stay very much. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed super-comfortable. Karen fixed us a delicious breakfast each morning. We chose breakfast in the dining room so we could chat with other guests, but solo breakfast on the porch is also an option. (By the way, Steve makes an EXCELLENT homebrew—be sure to try it when you come!)
We stayed at the Lion and the Rose to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Karen and Steve were gracious hosts making our visit quite memorable. The house is wonderful and in a great location close to all that Asheville has to offer.
We celebrated our 22nd anniversary with a weekend getaway to Asheville and a stay at the Lion and the Rose Bed & Breakfast. We stayed in the Craig Tom Suite. Really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were wonderful and left a little bottle of champagne and a treat with a sweet note on our arrival. Breakfasts were very good. I liked the coffee left at our door each morning. It allowed us to have coffee and get ready before going down for breakfast. The suite was spacious with a separate seating area and another room with a daybed. The shower was huge and there was a big soaking tub. The bathroom sink/counter was a little tight with the toilet right in front of it. But that was a minor inconvenience compared to all the space in the suite. We had to leave for a flight our last morning and couldn't make the 9am breakfast, Karen was so sweet to leave us two huge (and delicious) muffins and some apples with our morning coffee. Every evening we came back there were two bottles of water and a sweet treat. Really, so many nice touches. It was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do and had off street parking for guests. We were visiting when weather was high of 71 and low of 48 so no need for heat or air conditioning, but the room had a fireplace we did turn on to check it out and it provided warmth. There was also a free standing air conditioning unit we used once while napping and it cooled the room and provided white noise. Didn't really need it at night. Just a lovely place with lovely host - really enjoyed our stay.…
