After a five-hour drive, this B&B was heaven. Cedar Crest sent multiple reminders as the reservation neared, and the only part of the property that is temporarily unavailable is a balcony (B&B ensured we were aware prior). It was no problem for us. The shared entry spaces are accommodating and welcoming. There’s a cozy side parlor with fireplace to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee or work on the laptop. Holiday decorations are tasteful and beautiful. Breakfast is excellent with very nice views and a lovely dining area - spacious. Our room was comfy and everything we needed. We will be back and recommend. Oh, and of utmost importance: staff are great. Check out this gem! Oh… nice little wine happy hour in the afternoons.
Great location. Fantastic breakfasts and the quiet ambiance you wish filled every day. We stayed in the carriage house: a tastefully decorated yet highly functional separate building from the main house. Our bedroom (2) was cozy yet spacious and the common area a homey combo of quiet and serenity. Our common kitchen was easily accessed and our room quiet. None of this matters if the staff doesn’t get it…but this staff does. They are attentive but not intrusive. The food was beautifully presented but the taste more beautiful. Good coffee, fresh fruit and local suppliers make this place a genuine keeper. No place is perfect, but some people are..at least some of the time. And this staff gets an A+.
We splurged on this historical home and glad we did. Excellent service, very nice rooms. We stayed in Serenity Suite in lower level - wonderful!! Fireplace, coffee pot, nicely appointed. Note: there are stairs to get into the house.
There were a few issues with our stay-the fireplace wasn’t working and the room wasn’t cleaned, to name a couple. We even had to go down to the main house ourselves to get fresh towels and extra toilet paper! Not sure if they could do anything about the shower alternating at random from ice cold to scalding hot. The place was nicely decorated and comfortable. Location was great as well. The daily breakfast was very good, and they accommodated friends with dietary restrictions.
They are in violation of service dog laws. No PET fees should be charged for service dogs, its against federal law. Homeless banging on cottage door at night asking for blankets., homeless screamed at us eating dinner 2 blocks away bear in yard that night. No change provided for cash payment. Host is nice but not worth the money not a safe environment.
This is a warm, inviting and comfortable place to stay. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfasts were amazing. The location is very convenient to all the fun things to do in Asheville. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful B&B. I hate to give them 5 stars as it will be harder to get reservations. But such a charming, well maintained, old world craftsmanship house needs to be appreciated by others. Close to downtown. Very good and accommodating breakfast. The fireplaces are phenomenal and felt great on the cool evening and morning. Sue was very helpful on check in.
Cedar crest inn was an amazing place to stay. We enjoyed our time and had great accommodations we could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was friendly, the house was welcoming, and the room was well kept with lots of space. My girlfriend and I would 100% stay here again on every visit we have to Asheville.
It’s a beautiful old house with a rich history. My husband and I stayed in the William Breese suite for one night. Keep in mind the bathroom is small, which is common in these older homes, but the room is spacious. We wanted the experience of a B&B knowing we would be coming from a day spent touring the Biltmore Estate. The staff was great. We enjoyed the wine social and meeting a couple, Joe and Ellen, while sitting in the beautiful living room. That’s the beauty of a B&B, getting the chance to meet other travelers and hearing their stories. Joe and Ellen were a delight! We slept well and came down in the morning to a roaring fire, as it had turned cold that night, and the smell of delicious food being prepared. The coffee was very good and the breakfast was fantastic. Great service and a wonderful addition to our stay in historic Asheville. It’s also just about a five minute drive to downtown Asheville with lots of restaurants and local flair. As we came down the back driveway of the house, we drove by a historic graveyard where we saw four black bears foraging around. That was a surprise! Apparently they are fairly common to the area. …
House was very well kept and clean. Breakfast was somewhat disorganized as there was only one choice unless asked for night before and even then it might not be provided. Staff was not overly friendly. Bathroom was phone booth sized, but did work well. Driveway was a bit challenging. Probably would not stay second time. House is in need of mechanical updating and repair.
