The Cedar Crest Inn is a bed and breakfast in Asheville, NC, that, going on 34 years in business is the longest running Asheville B&B. Feel free to read our many positive TripAdvisor reviews - we offer a safe, clean, convenient and an overall fun place to be - and this definitely shows in our stellar TripAdvisor reviews. Asheville, North Carolina has a lot to offer its' visitors. This city has incredible restaurants, a lifetime of outdoor activities, has been named Beer City USA 3 years running, and of course more arts and crafts than one could ever dream of. The great news our BnB boasts the best location to all there is to offer in this beautiful and vibrant city. Guests enjoy the plush bedding and gourmet breakfast among other top-tier amenities, complementing the spacious rooms adorned with historical charm.

Hotel's Favorite
Great location. Fantastic breakfasts and the quiet ambiance you wish filled every day. We stayed in the carriage house: a tastefully decorated yet highly functional separate building from the main house. Our bedroom (2) was cozy yet spacious and the common area a homey combo of quiet and serenity. Our common kitchen was easily accessed and our room quiet.
None of this matters if the staff doesn’t get it…but this staff does. They are attentive but not intrusive. The food was beautifully presented but the taste more beautiful. Good coffee, fresh fruit and local suppliers make this place a genuine keeper. No place is perfect, but some people are..at least some of the time. And this staff gets an A+.

We were looking for a safe and relaxing getaway from several months at home. Cedar Crest Inn fit our need. Wonderful historic property with plenty of space room for our dog (Rosie), fresh air and a veranda for outdoor breakfast and relaxing. The staff was well trained in the new Covid-19 safety standards, the rooms and facilities were clean and distancing was not an issue. They just purchased a new sanitation machine from Ecolabs which will be delivered tomorrow that will completely disinfect the entire room after each stay with a 24 timeframe between guest visits. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was outstanding. Thank you for making our get away such a success. We needed it and look forward to visiting again soon

Cedar Crest Inn is a oasis of beauty, comfort and class perched on a hill in Asheville. My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed there for three nights while scouting out the area for a possible move and found the location to be so convenient. The Biltmore is five minutes or less away and Asheville itself is a very short (and easy) hop skip to get to from the Inn. The staff made us feel welcome and “at home” from the first moment, This 1800s Victorian home is incredible in ways that I cannot describe. Every detail of comfort has been thought of without sacrificing the historic feel of the place. Misa and Tiffany were so helpful but also not hovering in any way and Misa’s breakfasts were amazing, including accommodating a dietary need for my daughter. Two nights of our stay we got to sit in the parlor in front of a fire and drink a bottle of wine. They simply made us feel like this was our “home away from home”. The one downside for a light sleeper might be some road noise but nothing a good set of ear plugs or pods can’t fix and the location can’t be beat. So many other positives - lovely veranda and grounds, comfy beds, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon made our stay so magical we didn’t want to leave!

The Cedar Crest Inn was the perfect place to stay for a quick getaway to re-visit the Biltmore Estate. The bed and linens were soft, the space was immaculately clean and the staff was friendly, quick to respond to requests and accommodating. We stayed in the Serenity Suite located underneath the main house, which has a private entrance as well as its own veranda with rocking chairs. A huge garden tub with jets provided a relaxing soak after a long day of walking! The Victorian home is full of antiques, to include Eastlake style furnishings, and our room had a sitting area with a TV. A mini fridge is located in the closet, and coffee can be made in the room. Breakfast times of 8:30 and 9 were offered, and served on the upper terrace which overlooked the lovely grounds. We will certainly be back!

Couldn't recommend the Cedar Crest Inn enough! I stayed in the William Breese Room with my boyfriend for a weekend trip. Room is spacious and bed is very comfortable. Windows have dark curtains that keep room dark for sleeping in. The only downside to this room is that the bathroom and shower are very small, but we didn't mind, since that's just part of getting to stay in a historic house built in the late 1800s. We absolutely loved our two-course breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday, in addition to the complimentary wine in the evening. They also have complimentary cookies and water bottles available all day :) The common areas feel warm and historic, and the porch was our favorite place to hang out. Can't wait to come back!

Cedar Crest Inn has a beautiful, impressive entryway with gorgeous dark wood, masterfully carved and dramatic wooden stairs leading to the upper rooms. The dining area also has this beautiful wood, truly a work of art from days gone by. There is a sitting area just inside the front door with gas fireplace. Verandas were abundant but with the b&b being on a busy street and a hospital nearby, sirens and road noise were common and you might not find sitting outside relaxing.
Check in was smooth and the lady even helped us with our bags. Cookies were available in the afternoon along with tea or coffee, self serve. Breakfast was good...yogurt with a bit of fresh fruit and a waffle and piece of sausage.
Our room (Serenity Suite) was under the main area with entry from around the back side. FAIR WARNING to guests: the entry to this b&b is steep stairs if coming from the front. Even our suite, which was not on an upper floor, involved concrete steps getting to it, the last part of which had NO hand rail. In addition, there were 4 stair steps into the bathroom (with handrail) and an enclosed tub/shower combination that involved stepping over a piece that was about 2 feet high. I am agile and was okay with all this but my friend is unsteady on stairs and this was all a surprise to us. She was unable to use the shower at all. If you have ANY mobility issues, I urge you to ask questions ahead of time.
In order to accomodate a king size bed, there was no room left for night stands on either side of the bed. In fact, the side near the wall is small and I can see it being a tight squeeze for some. I think a queen side bed with small night stands would be more appropriate here. There was a small refrigerator and a coffee machine. It would have been nice to also have a couple of bottles of water with it and sugar packs instead of only artificial sweeteners.
The rooms were spotlessly cleaned. The sheets were soft but the smell of artificially scented dryer sheet was so strong on them that my gown had to be washed when I got home. I think the staff should consider using the wool balls that are just as effective as those dryer sheets and don't leave that smell that many of us find to be an irritant.

Our room was on the third floor and while not ideal when carrying luggage up stairs that become more narrow as you ascend, was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The view faced Biltmore Village and through winter’s trees, we could see all the way south to the church. Breakfast was served daily and freshly prepared in the kitchen off the dining room. Gas lit fireplaces in the living room and dining room added warmth and charm. An unexpected warm spell also was welcomed with sunshine and the ability to open the screened windows. If the creaks of century old wooden floors are your thing, this is another reason to choose this location. The inn’s location is convenient to major transportation arteries and just down the hill from local shops and restaurants approaching downtown Asheville. We will return to Cedar Crest Inn, having become Biltmore Passholders and looking forward to visiting during other seasons throughout the year. You all are very accommodating & allowed special assistance to ensure our needs were met. The Inn was warmly decorated for the holidays & we felt little to no risk traveling here during covid 2020 due to the health & safety practices of the Inn staff. Our family will want a return visit at Cedar Crest Inn. Thank you & staff for the delicious breakfasts, the special treats provided during the evenings & the clean fresh rooms.

When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Sue. She informed us that the previous guest had dislodged the towel bar in the room we had reserved, and offered us an upgrade, however the upgraded room had a tub and no shower... We opted to keep our original room. The room is small but comfortable and clean.... Cedar Crest is in a perfect location for visiting Biltmore, and only a short distance to downtown... Breakfast is served at 8:30 or 9:00 which ever you prefer and was very good. Fresh brewed coffee was ready earlier if you like to have a cup or two before breakfast. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cedar Crest Inn.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cedar Crest Inn. We stayed in the Serenity Suite which was lovely and very comfortable. We even had our own veranda and fireplace. The bathroom was very unique in our suite. It was up a few steps and had a jacuzzi tub with shower in the corner. It was a nice surprise for us, but stepping over the almost 2 foot high enclosure might be difficult for someone with mobility issues.
Breakfast was served in the dining room in the house and was very tasty. The second morning, the chef fixed us a “to go” breakfast of yogurt with strawberries, a sausage and French toast. She had it all packed up for us at the time we requested so we could get an early start on our travels. We really appreciated that. In addition, the host texted us before we arrived on the first day that our room was ready if we wanted to check in early. We did and she was so gracious in showing us around and explaining everything.
The host on the second day called me to let me know she was leaving for the afternoon and to see if we needed anything before she left. I thought that was extremely considerate.
Our stay was pretty quiet except for the occasional siren (there is a medical complex close by) and the sound of a train rumbling in the distance. I would highly recommend staying in this grand old pink lady. The location is up on a hill just a half mile from the entrance to The Biltmore estate and Biltmore village. I’m so glad we chose Cedar Crest Inn for our visit to Asheville.
