A beautiful place full of fine art stylish furniture, very hospitable and accommodating to my needs, delicious homemade breakfast. And nice conversations with the owner at breakfast interchanging experiences with her and other guests. A place of choice if you are planning to stay in Asheville
We've just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely B&B and we couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay when visiting Asheville. The house is beautifully decorated with amazing artwork and the attention to detail from furnishings to food was amazing. Sadly we missed Stephen & Robin as they were away at the time but we were looked after beautifully by Rain & Chandler for who nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in The York Imperial which was divine with an enormous, very comfortable bed and a fabulous large balcony (with 2 chairs and 2 loungers) which overlooked the garden. Only suggestion would be for somewhere to place toiletries in the bathroom but this is only nit-picking. Breakfasts were delicious and access to tea/coffee/wine/cookies at anytime was an added treat. We had high expectations of Applewood and they were met in every single way. Being from the UK we are tempted to try their French home at some point in the not too distant future. Huge thanks again for a fantastic few days!…
Perfect location: in a woodsy, residential area but walking or biking distance from downtown, parks, and trails. We were so pleased to be welcomed by Stephen and his wife, Robin. They knew the area, recommended restaurants, could provide bikes, guides and paths, prepared a delicious dinner as well as filling breakfasts. Loved the wine list and the great conversation about the Inn's decor, food, biking, and France! High end bedding and rooms were varied but very pleasant and private, The back patio was also very inviting. Definitely, a place you want to come back to.
We visited the Applewood Manor on a business trip to celebrate an important milestone - the group couldn't have picked a better location! The place has an amazing warmth, style, and uniqueness. Each room is special and has the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Staff members are all very helpful and friendly. The food is absolutely stunning! If you get a chance to chat with the owners, take it - they are incredibly caring, smart, and interesting people. We got the chance to chat about life, business, and travelling one morning and it was a highlight of the trip for me. I will definitely be returning for another stay at the gorgeous Applewood Manor!
My stay at Applewood Manor and in the Macintosh room was wonderful from start to finish. The bed was extremely comfortable, loved all the pillows! I was out on the balcony every night and morning. The breakfast was amazing! Communication was great! Thank you to all who made my stay incredible!
The Manor is charming and well located in a historic neighborhood near downtown. There is also a nearby walking trail along the water that is very pleasant. The house itself has several different comfortable spots in which to eat, relax, and visit. Robin is a talented cook and we looked forward to our breakfasts each morning. We especially liked the homemade yogurt and granola with real strawberries, as well as the excellent coffee and fresh juice. Stephen was thorough and on top of every little detail. He set me up with a good road bike and provided just the right route suggestion. Both were friendly and gracious hosts. We will return to Applewood at our next opportunity.
Recently stayed at the Applewood Manor with my adult daughter as she is considering relocating to Asheville. From the very beginning, communication was professional, timely, and responsive ... above and beyond. This is what you want and expect from a B&B ! Robin, Rain, and the team were always prompt in replies to questions about our stay and consistently accommodating our needs. Upon arrival, the property is welcoming and impressive; beautifully and tastefully decorated in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood that is so conveniently located. It was an easy walk to downtown and a nearby river trail. Attention to guest comfort is of the highest quality; rooms very comfortable, terrific bed, coffee/cookies in the room, and bathroom accessories make for a superb experience. The most appreciated aspect of our stay is Robin's welcoming and pleasant demeanor "Say Yes, whenever possible!" attitude is a winner ! Their team with Rain and Rex was also exceptional. And, we mustn't forget delicious breakfast each morning with fresh coffee or tea, fresh fruit/greens from the local farmers' market and Robin's freshly baked breads were unforgettable. Needless to say, it was difficult to leave, but we will be back many times for future visits. Much gratitude for a superb stay !! PS. we also got to see/hear the Manor owls as well as some visiting black bears that lazily roamed through the property.... an exciting sight (from a safe distance)!!…
The B&B is a beautiful and serene property in a great location close to downtown and the river arts district, yet it is in a quiet historic area away from the noise. The historic home is beautiful with fabulous art throughout and the grounds are lovely. We stayed in the Courtland cottage which is steps from the main house but completely private. The cottage is spacious and comfortable. It has a shower and an oversized whirlpool tub. Bed is comfy. There’s a nespresso machine and plenty of coffee and tea. And best of all - Robin’s yummy cookies! Check in and check out was smooth and easy. Communications prior to check in and during our stay was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. You can eat in the dining room or on one of their outdoor porches. The owner, Robin, is the nicest, most helpful person - and so interesting to talk with. I enjoyed getting to know her so much that it was hard to drag myself away so that we could explore Asheville. When we left after our three night stay I felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend. All in all - 5 stars plus in every way…
We had a team event and decided to host it in Asheville and the Applewood Manor was the perfect place for our group. The house was extremely cozy, the beds were suuuper comfortable, the food was amazing (loved the breakfast), and Stephen and Robin + the entire Applewood staff were great hosts. Couldn't recommend this B&B more!
From the gourmet breakfasts to the wonderful furnishings and appointments, we had a wonderful stay in Asheville. Quiet neighborhood with easy access to both downtown and the interstates for excursions into the countryside. Quite simply the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. We loved getting to know Robin and she was so helpful fielding all of our questions and providing suggestions. We'll be back.
