My wife and I stayed here for a short babymoon. The place is super beautiful and the hosts are super nice and accommodating. We stayed in the Magnolia room and it is quite comfortable with its own mini fridge and seating area. Definitely,we recommend it.
Loved this artsy bed and breakfast in between downtown Asheville and Biltmore Village. The decor wasn't stuffy like some other bnb's...the whole place had a friendly, unpretentious vibe. We enjoyed our upstairs room with an adjoining sitting area, all furnished with antiques. Before arriving I...More
Oakland Cottage B&B is very nice. The old building is well maintaned. Rooms are spacious, clean and lovely decorated. Bathroom is small, but everything is in working order. The bed was not so comfortable, the matrasses were too soft and oblique. Steve, the inn keeper,...More
Our first time to ever stay at a bed and breakfast. Wonderful place close to lots of activities including the Biltmore. Becky, Jeff and Tammy were great hosts. Wonderful homemade breakfasts. Also - had more privacy and luxury as a private hotel. Will come back...More

Thanks for your inquiry. I do not think it is an easy walk to the main/fun part of downtown. It is just a little too far - about 1.5 mile to the Orange Peel (music hall), 2 miles to downtown's Pack Monument (I consider this monument to be town center). I recommend driving and parking in one of the garages. All the garages are free first hour, $1.00 each hour thereafter (except for special events - $7-10 ea visit).
