We had a great time staying at Windsor! The hotel is beautiful with unique interior decor. The Single Queen Suite was nice/specious (loved the kitchen and in-room laundry facility) and the lobby complimentary food/drinks were a big plus. Most importantly, the hotel staff (especially Elisa) were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to Windsor if we ever visit Asheville again. 💕
Unique Boutique Hotel with each room it's own personal dream spot! Rooms were individually decorated and so much room to mill around and relax. The perfect place to visit downtown restaurants, hop on the local trolly, shopping and even a wine bar next door. We would stay there again and again and again!! Susan
We did a buyout of this hotel for a small business group and they loved it! The suites were clean and unique. The washer/dryers really appreciated by the runners/workout guys. The antique floors creaked a little but that was only complaint and the positives just so many. I appreciated combo lock doors so no key to lose! Close to tons of restaurants too. Would highly recommend if you are in Asheville.
Our family stayed at The Windsor for four nights and it was a treat. The decor is amazing! The rooms are each uniquely decorated, clean, and have a lot of space. Our King room was straight out of Paris! The coolest place we’ve ever stayed and we travel a lot.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect as it is within walking distance of so many shops, restaurants, and bars. It is small enough that we got acquainted with the staff, and they seemingly catered to our every need. We will stay at The Windsor on future getaways to Asheville.
Stopped overnight as we made our way back to the Coast ...arrived after an exhausting drive after 10" of snow had fallen to be greeted by the kindest of staff, the most comfortable of accommodations and the added bonus of a full "apartment" suite with kitchen, laundry and dining! Center of it all location in Downtown Asheville... With the snowfall everything was closed but the full kitchen allowed us to enjoy a delicious "dine in" evening as we cozied up for a good rest. Our room was exceedingly quiet, decor eclectic and fun...the hotel is absolutely delightful with the added amenities of coffee tea set up, complimentary beverage station and how "sweet" were the French macarons for an arrival treat! Thanks for a great stay, the thoughtful additions and we look forward to our return **if looking for the spaciousness of an Airbnb with the comfort and amenities of a luxury hotel I think you'll be pleased…
Stayed here for an overnight after a snow storm on January 17th. Staff was amazing and friendly. Kim and I travel to Asheville a few times a year and this is our new spot. Parking due to location of hotel is just a short distance away. Room was very comfy and quiet. Hotel is located in the heartbeat of the city. We love it. Highly recommend this place
Helpful and pleasant Staff with roomy suites and all of the fixings, but our second floor suite had footsteps throughout both booked evenings from an upper floor making sleep difficult. Having stayed in Asheville several times in the past, it is important to note that the walk from the provided parking area to the hotel is on the ‘weirder’ / ‘dirtier’ end of town. The hotel was more ‘worn’ than the website would indicate. Our shower had seen better days….the shower head was not fixed to the structure rendering it unadjustable, and we had to blanket the floor with towels as the shower door did not seal properly. Finally, some of the finishings did not complement the ‘Boutique’ Hotel Experience….windows were not closed properly which allowed for excessive street noise, toilet was difficult to use due awkward proximity to the sink, and several wall mounted items were supported with screws or toggle bolts that did not match the decor. Not a bad experience by any means, just not as polished as we would have expected.…
The staff is great. We enjoyed talking with them when we came in, and while waiting for friends to meet us in the lobby. There is a small refrigerator in the lobby, stocked with free bottled water and sodas, plus coffee and snacks on top. The room was huge, large full kitchen, so we had our normal breakfast every morning. They supplied an unopened bag of nice ground coffee and all the fixings. There are markets very nearby, Harris Teeter (normal supermarket), plus Whole Foods and Trader Joe. Big living area, kitchen table, small bedroom and bathroom, but all very manageable. Shops nearby, restaurants in walking distance. We came late October, so a little chilly at night, not a lot of noise late at night, except one idiot on Saturday at midnight, repeatedly revving his engine, until he got bored. Trash pick up did come by around 6am, but they were gone soon, so not a big deal. Zero noise in hotel, altho we were on top (3rd) floor, friends on the 2nd noticed the people above them. Had dinner at the Omni, and Kimpton, saw the Biltmore and the Grand Bohemian, and we were glad we stayed here. …
The location was fantastic, the staff were very helpful, and the building itself was beautiful. The selection of snacks in the lobby was also primo. The downside, though, was that the floor above us was super thin--we heard everything the people upstairs were doing, from casually walking around, to doing laundry, to arguing, to having sex. My wife and I stayed for 2 of our 3 planned nights and probably slept an average of 4 hours a night before checking out early and going somewhere else. It was just impossible to sleep well. On a related note, although I know it's a historic building and so this might be expected, the street noise coming up from Broadway was pretty incredible. There did not appear to be internal or external storms on the windows, which is something management might think about adding to make the stays a little more relaxing. A final comment: the staff allowed us to check out early at no cost, which was nice, but we were not offered any sort of compensation for our poor experience the two previous nights. I've never asked for a room to be comped--it was our decision to stay--but this is one case where it would have been appropriate, because are no noise disclaimers that I can find on the hotel's website. It felt like a massive bait-and-switch.…
