Unique Boutique Hotel with each room it's own personal dream spot! Rooms were individually decorated and so much room to mill around and relax. The perfect place to visit downtown restaurants, hop on the local trolly, shopping and even a wine bar next door. We would stay there again and again and again!! Susan

All of the great reviews I read about this hotel were true. I love to try boutique hotels, but usually am at a big brand hotel for the points. I am so glad I stayed at the Windsor Boutique. It was a girls trip and we had everything we could possibly need. I think this had to be an old apartment building. The wood floors were old and gorgeous. We not only had a full living/kitchen area, but also a washer and dryer. The staff was amazing in helping us with anything we needed. Through the lobby of the hotel you can access a gorgeous art gallery where you can enjoy wine and light snacks. The Windsor is right in the heart of downtown making everything you’d want to do an easy walk. The only reason I got in a vehicle the whole week was to go on a waterfall hike. Even then the tour guide picked us up at the hotel.

We loved this hotel! Great central location, huge comfortable room (304), helpful staff with good recommendations. Plenty of character. We would definitely stay again. Easily walkable to all of downtown.

I had very high expectations of the Windsor Boutique property based on the reviews. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. On the plus side, the room was spacious. The location is central, very convenient for all downtown activities. Complimentary water bottles appreciated. Decor is lovely. The bed comfortable. The challenges began for me when the hotel completely ignored my husband’s special birthday. For a so called luxury property I would have anticipated a bottle of wine or champagne, or at the very minimum a special dessert. None of that appeared. Generally speaking, although the staff was responsive, they were largely “flat”, not proactive. From a room perspective. The outlets were not convenient for charging electronic devices. The bathroom sink was small, with very little room for toiletries. Closet/drawer space is sparse with few hangars. Lighting is poor for putting on makeup. Parking is two blocks away, and although I thought it would not be inconvenient, it was, especially in rainy weather. The parking space/lot is also tight. There were no usable windows in the room, with no view. Windows were frosted up and that is likely because all you can see is a brick wall. I missed seeing the outside, the street. During our stay we had a weak and iffy Wi-Fi connection. If you want daily housekeeping, you must request it, which we did. That said, housekeeping did not replenish toiletries when they serviced the room. There are no phones or direct lines to reception. If you want to notify someone or ask a question, you need to call on your own line and hope someone answers (frequently it goes to voice mail) or go to the lobby. My husband and I are in our mid-seventies on a two week road trip. Day of check out we secured the luggage cart, brought it to our room, loaded it and proceeded down the elevator to the small lobby. While my husband went to get the car, I waited. When he arrived, a staff person, finally opened the door and assisted with getting the cart outside but not with loading it. When you are paying premium for an “upscale” experience, you could expect to receive “upscale” amenities - having available luggage assistance is mundane, not a luxury perk. Despite the disappointments, I would say this is a good property to stay at if you book knowing the shortfalls.

We recently stayed at the hotel in a King Suite. The hotel is conveniently located fir the downtown area, is easy to find and the staff were professional and friendly. The parking is in an open air lot that is nearby, however not secured. The room has seperate lounge, kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. The facilities were rustic. As some reviewers have noted the bedroom was cosy/small - think door and cupboards cannot fully open. The king sized bed was comfortable. This is an old property that was refurbished at sometime so please expect uneven very creaky floorboards, gaps under doors etc All in all we enjoyed our stay, however perhaps a little too rustic for us.

Have been to Asheville several times in the past year and this was my first stay at the The Windsor. It's a home run in terms of location and service. Room was fantastic with so much space and a kitchen and living area. I will definitely try to stay there again. Book early as there are not many rooms. I have tried before and this is the first time I have scored a room. Well worth the cost. A wonderful experience.

Don’t hesitate - this place is amazing! We traveled with our toddler and infant and stayed at the Windsor for 5 nights. We had a two queen suite, with a pull out couch and we brought our own pack n play (never asked if they had them, we just always bring our own) . Here are some things I think others may find helpful. 1) location truly couldn’t be better 2) yes the floors creak but it didn’t bother us, and the kids slept thru it too 3) there are complimentary snacks and drinks in the lobby which was so nice and convenient 4) the staff is incredible 5) the kitchen has the basics - we actually needed a couple items to cook our meals and the staff brought them up for us! 6) we also asked for an extra blanket and they brought two options for my toddler 7) you get a small discount on biltmore tickets 8) parking is off site but not far at all, and it’s a dedicated lot. 9) there’s a place to pull up right in front of hotel to load and unload and the staff even offers to help 10) I loved the big fluffy bathrobes and they even provided slippers 11) the pull out couch was lacking … but my toddler didn’t mind. As an adult I would have been very uncomfortable. Most all of them are, but this was pretty bad. We stayed at a holiday inn on our drive home and theirs was significantly better 12) hair dryer in unit 13) awesome decor and vibe 14) would Be great for couples, girls weekend, and families because it’s basically like a mini apartment

My husband and I decided on a last minute trip to Asheville and found great reviews for the Windsor. So grad they had rooms available. Our requested room (304) was just as pictured on the website and was super comfortable and quiet. The staff are very friendly and happy. Excellent communication prior to arrival too. We'll return.

I searched for the perfect accommodation when my husband and I planned our trip to visit Asheville, NC, to see the Fall colors. There were many choices but when I came upon “The Windsor” smack dab in the middle of town, in a historically preserved renovated building (it was supposedly a brothel back in the 1800’s), I knew I found our home away from home. Only 14 units, all like small apartments with decor fitting a 5 star boutique establishment. Our kitchen was stocked, our bedding was cloud like and no detail was overlooked. Best of all were the STAFF . . . shoutouts to Zack, Ryan and Eliza. They helped with recommendations, restaurant reservations, fresh bottled water always available in the lobby and a Wall Street Journal every morning with coffee. Sure, you could stay at the other fine establishments in town but if you want service, uniqueness, location and comfort look no further. They are the epitome of Asheville hospitality!
