We stayed here for the close proximity to Asheville and for the river camping. Our site was directly on the river as promised. It was beautiful! The not-so-good: The bathhouse had only one shower with luke-warm water (when I showered. May be warmer at other times). The road into the campground is two way so if you have a big...

I don't know why some people have really knocked this place. This campground was great as far as family friendly, beautiful campgrounds. The prior reviews made me a bit uneasy but it was holiday weekend and our choices were limited and we decided to go for it, so we did and we are glad we did. We had campsite #10,...

The Campground is Great! We have stayed about three times now! If your looking for a place to go with a ton of activities and amazing amenities (this may not be the place for you)! We love the French Broad River, you can open your windows and listen to the river all night and the occasional train but that's what...

I have to say that this is one of the worst places I have ever camped!!!!! Not only was the place trashy because there is no trash cans but also they sites are cramped together and u have ZERO privacy!!!! Not only that but the owners are very rude. We were visiting my girlfriends parents and in the middle of...

I give it a 5, but am reserving the infamous May Emblem for the house that are worthier. It is good but not outrageous. Ranked number one, I was expecting more. Junction is better. Wicked weed is better. Really just a sweet shop with a Dyllons candy bar nyc feel.....without the commercial dyllons feel. Still a 5 makes it a...

First I will start by saying the river is beautiful! Next, beware if you have a camper longer than 28 feet! There is nowhere good to turn around!!! We tore up the rear jacks because of this. We stayed in sight 16 and there is a year around resident that must have a case of OCD about leaves falling into...

The French Broad River Campground sounds like it would be a wonderful place to camp. It's good on paper but once you arrive you quickly find out that because it's such a beautiful area and could be prime camping grounds they cram in as many people as possible which ruins the experience. The assigned camp sites are extremely close together...

Very convenient to Asheville, this was a very small campground, most sites are right on the river. It was a different kind of campground in that there were cabins (which I had assumed were for rent), but almost all of them appeared to have permanent residences. Some of the campers that were there also appeared to be permanent. The bathrooms...

I was very disappointed by how poorly this campground is kept up. Thank goodness we had full hookups and didn't need to use the bath-house- I would have pulled out and moved to a different campground. Game-room was never open, office was rarely manned and many individuals 'living' at the campground long-term-although they were very friendly. The road is extremely...

We spent four nights at the campground, friendly owners and a beautiful setting. Where else can you camp on a beautiful river in a wooded setting so close to a great town. For those folks expecting more maybe a hotel would suite your needs better.

“Only camp here if you're in a camper because they "camp sites" are extremely close together and if you're in a tent you can hear everything. Also there are train tracks across from the river so if you're a light sleeper you may not like this place.”
