Zen Asheville Inn was a wonderful place to stay for the first part of our honeymoon. Doniel, the host, was very friendly and accommodating so don’t hesitate to ask him for special requests. The Inn was cozy, historic, and definitely had a romantic vibe. It’s also very close to downtown. Also, we scheduled a couples massage which was given on site. The two masseuses were absolutely wonderful! After going through the excitement and stress of our wedding day, my wife and I thoroughly benefitted from their healing hands.
Great location to downtown and Biltmore. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. Clean rooms with lovely host. Homemade breakfast was nice! We had a terrific visit - our first to Asheville. Highly recommend!
My significant other and I stayed here during early November, and had a wonderful time! The owner was extremely friendly and gave us great dinner recommendations for in town. We loved the room as well as the common area. The breakfasts consisted of bread, hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, and yogurt/granola. We were very happy with it. We also LOVED the couples massage, amazing time. Overall great experience!
This amazing b&b is the perfect getaway from the stresses of life. Charming 1920’s home, beautiful secluded grounds, clean tastefully decorated rooms, wonderful food, and Zen Spa. Doniel makes everything perfect for your little escape.
My partner and I spent a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at this amazing B&B. It was a last minute trip, (we'd planned to go to the beach but the weather had other ideas), and we were happy to stumble across this B&B on a list of LGBT friendly places to stay in Asheville. Doniel (the innkeeper) was friendly and helpful. Overall, the service was stellar and the accommodations impeccable and extremely comfortable. We can't wait to visit again!
I have a high-stress career and my husband and I were both in desperate need of a getaway. I tripped across this B&B on a blogger's site and was thrilled when Doniel told me he had the Bohemian room available for the weekend. What a wonderful space! The inn is quiet, peaceful and private. Our room... I didn't want to leave it. Beautifully decorated and very private. We also did the couples full body massage. This was a first for us and we were both delighted. I don't remember the last time I felt that relaxed and content. I've already booked a massage here in my hometown and I'm praying that the experience will be at least half of what I got at Asia. I honestly couldn't say enough about this place. Doniel is a wonderful host and an excellent cook. Breakfast was delicious! The house is absolutely lovely. I can't wait to go back for another weekend!…
We were so happy to stumble upon Asia! It was our getaway to celebrate our birthdays the weekend before Thanksgiving and to relax before the holiday chaos. I was drawn to the idea of having a spa treatment at the same place we were staying. It was our first B&B experience and we loved not staying at an ordinary hotel. I spoke with Doniel a few days prior to arrange our couples massages and he was very accommodating. When we arrived, Doniel greeted us, showed us the property and our room. We discussed the breakfast routine and then our massages. He was informative and available for all our needs. Breakfast was FANTASTIC! I asked Doniel if he had any training and he said he just likes to cook! The entire facility is very spa-like.... relaxing, calming, and quiet. Hot tea and filtered water were available at all hours. We staying in the Bali room. We enjoyed the in-room jacuzzi tub as well as the fireplace. The King sized bed was soooooo soft! I imagined that to be what sleeping on a cloud is like. We scheduled 90 minute couples massages which was absolutely wonderful! The location is ideal, just a few blocks from downtown Asheville and a 20 minute drive to The Biltmore. I can't say enough good things about our experience. We will return!…
Asia was a much needed break from the hurry of everyday life. I felt myself relaxing the moment we entered the clean and inviting space. The Inn was light-filled, well decorated, and smelled wonderful. We enjoyed spending time in our well-appointed rooms and lounging on the sun porch. Do not miss the steam shower, couples massage, and sauna. Very close to all the activities of downtown.
From the moment they answered my call about reservations to the moment we left, I was wowed by Asia's people, services, and property. I called to inquire about meshing our reservation with a side-trip, and they made suggestions about timing that made our side-trip workable and fun - the side-trip would have been a disappointment otherwise. Once we settled on dates, they inquired about food allergies and preferences, and the day of our arrival called to confirm our estimated arrival time, which had totally changed from what I initially planned. They were low-key and accepting about the change: "No problem, take your time, and arrive safely" was their reply. We booked the Three Amigas special, and it was an ideal fit. Having the entire upstairs allowed us to keep our doors open and wander between the rooms without running into other guests. The rooms beneath are common areas so we were less concerned our feet pattering gently from one room to the other would disturb guests below. One of us slept in the Bohemian room, while the other two shared the Bali room, and we gathered as a group in the window seat and comfortable chair of the Bohemian room. The textiles throughout the upstairs are a delight of textures and colors. Each crispy-cold morning we chose to enjoy breakfast on the sun porch, which was bright and airy even on one rainy morning. Breakfast was a visual and tasty delight, accompanied by coffee and varying juices and teas. The experience and ingenuity of Asia's chef shone through when the dairy-eaters of our group tasted the non-dairy eater's food and complimented how delicious and "normal" it tasted. Other guests we saw were laid back and quiet, which is apparently the pattern for Asia's guests. Some guests chose to spend time in the quiet room, while others relaxed in the sun room (our favorite) and the living room, which adjoins the dining room where teas and filtered water are available all the time. Asia's people were helpful but not intrusive and read people well - when we wanted quiet, they gave us space, and when we were feeling chattier, they engaged us more. We enjoyed spa treatments as part of the Three Amigas Special, and each of the three professionals who cared for us was spectacular! (Better that other large resorts close by.) One of the treatment rooms is on the second floor with the Bali and Bohemian rooms, allowing us to slip quickly and quietly post-treatment back to our rooms for a nap and meditative time to remain anchored in our relaxed state. I'll be comparing other bed-and-breakfast stays ever after with Asia Bed and Breakfast Spa. I suspect most will fall short. Also, where else can you find a Three Amigas special with this combination of hotellerie and ambiance? We'll be back!…
Asia was just lovely, through and through. From the delicious breakfasts to the in-room jacuzzi tubs to the second to none spa treatments, we really felt properly pampered. The steam shower and sauna were really nice amenities, too. I cannot think of anything I'd change. If you're on the fence, pull the trigger...you'll be glad you did!
