The Princess Anne; you have found the right place to stay in Asheville!
Excellence! Everything about the Princess Anne is outstanding. From the moment we walked in the front door, we experienced hospitality at its best. The staff texted us to let us know that our room was ready, earlier than expected, and we found the room to be spotless, warm and inviting. Fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate were always at hand near the lobby, as well as a complimentary assortment of fresh baked goodies made in house, by the chef, who certainly know her way around a kitchen. The breakfast choices should satisfy most tastes. I chose Belgian waffles, with a blueberry sauce, with crumbled pistachio nuts on top, with bacon. It was delicious! Afterward, we adjourned to the lobby, and sat before the cheery fireplace to read a newspaper. Delightful to slow down the pace of modern life. In our room, the bed was just right, and we had a very comfortable night's sleep. Hot water from the sink and shower was pretty much instantaneous, which, although not a big deal, indicated the quality of the hotel's restoration efforts. Parking is in a convenient off street parking lot right behind the hotel. And, the realty is that the people make the difference. Every interaction with staff was wonderful. The people who work in this hotel care about your experience, and it shows. I love supporting a lodging such as the Princess Anne. We will return here. It's central to everything, and I suggest you give the place a try...you will not be disappointed.
Thanks so much for your wonderful review! It sounds like you took advantage of a lot of our offerings and enjoyed them all! We're starting our monthly wine dinners back up in 2023, we hope you can join us for one...or two! Don't forget to use our Repeat Guest discount code when you book your next visit!

    This place is awesome!
My wife and I stayed for a weekend so we could experience all that Asheville has to offer. We could not have been more pleased. The location is technically within walking distance, but only in nice weather or if you are used to walking. It was recommended that we take a Uber/Lyft to the breweries and downtown area we wanted to go. It took 2-minutes to get there. Literally. They offered complimentary drinks (alcohol offerings are included if you so choose) upon arrival. Rooms were immaculately clean and quiet. Showers had plenty of hot water. A Mitsubishi room heat/air was in each room giving you the option of of different rooms at different temperatures. The staff was friendly and provided ample recommendations upon hearing that we were there in town for the first time. The wine and food happy hour each day was a great way to relax after driving 6 hours, as well as a good way to have a chat with others staying at the hotel. But what sets this place apart is the scratch made breakfast each morning that comes with the price of the room. You read that right. Scratch made upon ordering! The chef is absolutely outstanding. And for the very reasonable price of the room stay I couldn't believe it was included. We will be staying there again, as my wife and I loved Asheville and plan to go back soon. This place is well worth the value of the price.

Magnificent property and service within walking distance of downtown
We actually didn't know about this hotel before researching other options after finding out one of our favorite Asheville B&B's was booked when we wanted to come. I'm glad we did because this place is amazing! If you like boutique hotels that are within walking distance of downtown, you've got to check it out. We were very happy with our room, the service, the incredible breakfasts, and the afternoon wine & cheese which they started offering again after a hiatus when we visited in late October 2020. They did a magnificent job customizing to my wife's flexitarian diet. Instead of an afternoon cheese plate, they gave us a plate of wonderful crackers, nuts, relish and pickled veggies. My wife mentioned that it was great to see a hotel run by women (the desk clerks, the head chef, the server, etc.). They also let you know that it's not unusual for black bears to be on the property (we saw some rummaging through the trashcans) but they will leave you alone if you leave them alone. They had contactless check in, and there was plenty of sanitizer available and there were always delicious cookies and treats in the lobby. Our room was on the third floor and we took the antique elevator to bring our luggage up but pretty much took the stairs the rest of the time. We also enjoyed the porch area when the weather was nice, and the sitting area with a gas fireplace. Your stay includes breakfast, and they change up their offerings every day for a little variety. Everything we had was delicious. Highly recommended.

From the moment you arrive; you are warmly greeted and it continues throughout your entire stay. A delicious breakfast with several different choices which change daily await you in the mornings. Happy hour from 5-6pm provides you with a complementary delectable array of assorted charcuterie plates along with beer and wine. Fat Tire for the win! The parlor area boosts two comfortable and spacious sofas to sit back, relax and unwind on after an adventurous day of hiking. There are also two inviting outdoor sitting areas to take in while visiting with other guests. Our spacious suite had a separate living area, stove, refrigerator, Nespresso machine and cafe table. Very close to the downtown area. The Princess Anne and it’s outstanding and attentive staff has left an indelible mark on us. We look forward to our next stay with them!

We booked five nights in this delightful historic hotel and certainly made the most of our stay there. Our suite - comprising kitchenette, sitting room, passage, bedroom and bathroom - allowed us to spread out our belongings and enjoy welcome space after two weeks of travel. The a la carte breakfasts were a real treat and we looked forward to choosing from the changing menu each morning. At the end of our day of sightseeing, we enjoyed returning to the happy hour glass of wine served with delectable appetisers, some smooth tracks on the sound system and often a chat with fellow guests. Added to this were friendly reception staff, and a sense of comfort and old world charm. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are heading to Asheville.

The Princess Anne is an absolute treasure if you’re planning an Asheville visit. There is so much character and charm in this historic inn. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Their breakfasts can match any five star restaurant, with the friendliest and most welcoming servers. They have a happy hour for guests, with canapés, cheeses, wine and beer. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting Asheville.

We had a lovely overnight stay, and were so pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We booked somewhat last minute and received a discount for booking directly from their site. The room was spacious and spotless. We missed the wine reception, but the lobby and patio both looked so inviting. It was so quiet we felt we were the only guests on our floor. Nespresso in the room made for a treat for in room coffee. Cooked to order breakfast is included with your stay, and it was delicious. Staff were always friendly and inviting. Overall so pleased and will definitely stay again next time we’re in Asheville.

I had a lovely solo getaway to the Prince Anne Hotel mid-May. I had a wonderful and spacious suite with a bathtub ( which I had requested) looking over the beautiful courtyard in the back. The hotel is quiet and beautifully appointed. The afternoon wine and hors d'oevres were quite substantial and substituted as my dinner the first night when I was too tired to venture out. I typically drove back and forth into the downtown area but you could walk if feeling vigorous-it was not far at all. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions and a discount for the Biltmore Tour (which I highly recommend). Breakfast choices were terrific and the food was delicious. Service was sometimes a little slow so allow plenty of time because it's too good to miss and included with your room price.

We loved our stay at Princess Anne and would highly recommend staying here to others. The hotel is a charming old building set in a residential neighborhood. There was a small parking lot as well as street parking. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, we were treated like family. Our room was adorable...very clean and comfortable. We loved the front porch and back porch areas for relaxing. The breakfast was amazing and worth going back for. They also provided wine and appetizers in the late afternoon, which was a nice touch. I would say the Princess Anne does a great job with the little details....fresh flowers on the breakfast tables, bakery items for guests in the sitting room, caramels on the bed, etc. They really know how to host guests. We would love to go back!

Our 2nd stay at the Princess Anne was even better than our first. They are gracious, welcoming and have a wonderful breakfast and happy hour - two of my favorite things in life. Our room (#307) was just right for the two of us, even had a nice big, tiled shower and plenty of space to spread out with a little LR, DR and kitchen area. We had to leave early on Sunday and didn't want to miss their good breakfast so they delivered a really yummy yogurt, granola and melon breakfast while we were away at a wedding Saturday night - it made the perfect breakfast to pull out of our fridge that next morning. Bonus is always meeting other nice and interesting guests at the happy hours! It's a super convenient location for anything you plan in Asheville too.

The Hotel is quite old and the carpet needs attention. Breakfast was not the best but the house/bed & breakfast as well as the afternoon wine was very pleasant- just not the quality I expected after being valued so high.. Just for the experience it was nice, the location was good as well, unfortunately still not was expected
