We stayed three days on a business trip. The hotel is close to downtown. Our room was reasonably priced and had a separate seating area so that we could welcome a guest. Small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The furnishings were traditional and comfortable. The evening "wine (and lemonade) and snacks was pleasant, as the public rooms and outdoor seating... The four of us (two couples) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We love the cocktail hour with decent wine and munchies, as it gave us a chance to talk to some of the other guests....always a pleasant part of travel. Breakfast was delicious. The owner thoughfully called me within 30 minutes of our departure to let me know I had left... More

What a charming place! The outside of the building does not do this place justice. The history is fascinating. Built as a hotel for families visiting relatives at a nearby TB hospital. Then is was used by military, was an Senior Home, fell into disrepair and was lovingly restored by a local family. You walk into a large foyer and... More

The hotel is a beautiful historic landmark for Ashville. The lobby and porch areas are very beautiful with lots of interesting information on the area. Our room was large! We were so pleased with the room! Comfy bed and even a large closet! Breakfast was great with 3 options to choose from. I had the savory option which was delicious!!... More

The perfect blend between old and new, snugly set in quiet neighborhood. Fantastic breakfast and cocktail hour where you can mingle with fellow travelers or be perfectly comfortable sitting solo on patio and homey covered porches. Cicadas and crickets serenade at night yet a few blocks away downtown Asheville offers creative dining, coffee shops, "hip Hops" in the many brewpubs.... More

A beautiful hotel on a quiet street in a lovely, old neighborhood with a great Asian fusion restaurant a couple of blocks away...great for the night of arrival. The spacious, older building equipped with all the creature comforts is the perfect setting to relax and slow down. Renovations have been thoughtfully considered retaining the beauty and character of the hotel's... More

Great staff and beautiful hotel. Breakfast was superb. Highly recommended! Our room was beautiful with a great bed and linens. The hotel sold us two day passes for the price of a one day pass to the Biltmore Estate, an outstanding deal.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel was only 5 minutes from Asheville, 10-15 minutes from other activities and the Biltmore estate. The hotel is beautiful and quaint with excellent service. We loved the made-to-order breakfast selections each morning and our favorite part was sitting on the side patio in the... More

If you are tired of the large, impersonal hotels, this is the one for you. It is hospitable, clean, and charming with a wonderful breakfast and afternoon wine and nibbles and bits. Large three room suites - because of the conversion to a modern hotel. Needs some work - you regulate each in room air conditioner via a remote control... More

The place was beautifully decorated. When you slept it was so quiet. The people were beyond kind and so helpful. The breakfast we had every morning was perfect. We had wine , cheese, crackers, and other food every night. It came with the room. The room itself was perfect. It could have not been any better. We loved it.
