I don't want to tell anyone that the Princess Anne Hotel is wonderful, because then the secret will be out and it will be impossible to stay there again. And, staying there again is exactly what I want to do the next time I travel to Asheville. The Princess Anne does everything right. From the beautiful, quiet, and comfortable rooms. (With the classy Nespresso machines and bidets.). To the pleasant common areas, lounge, and dining room. To the food -- snacks and breakfast and happy hour. To the staff. No one could praise the staff too much. The manager, front desk, and Ness, the chef, along with everyone else on board is so pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The Princess Anne is nestled in a comfortable off the beaten path neighborhood, yet close walking distance to downtown Asheville and all the major highways. The Princess Anne is a gem.…
Historic Inn oozing with charm. Convenient, safe parking behind the Inn. Can’t say enough about the staff - they were all friendly, helpful, and engaging. Breakfast provided was ample and tasty - 4 options available and two were vegetarian which pleased the other couple traveling with us. Wine and appetizers provided each afternoon were quite nice. And the homemade cookies/brownies provided throughout the day - heavenly. The chef/baker here is just exceptional. Remember this is a historic inn so yes, the floors creak. Our bedroom tv was on the side wall so yes, you had to look sideways. No, it doesn’t have a magnifying makeup mirror in the bathroom. But the friendliness and expertise of the staff - and the great baked goods - more than makes up for any non-modern inconveniences.…
Truly impeccable service and hospitality from the moment you walk in the door until the day you leave. The staff will go out of their way to do anything to take care of you including showing you how to use the elevator which is an experience itself and brings back great memories from the past. Thanks for the free upgrade to a huge three room suite. The wine and hors d’oeuvres reception was outstanding an allowed us to mingle and meet all kinds of guestsThat were in Asheville for a wedding. They even give us a ride to a local restaurant. We chose the crêpe with salad for breakfast and I must say the crêpe was extremely good but a very large serving. Remember there is free parking in the back of the hotel I almost forgot the hotel does offer free afternoon pastries, cookies and brownies. With all of these pluses you cannot go wrong with the Princess Anne…
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in Asheville and this hotel was amazing and made our trip just perfect! We got three rooms, a dining room with a small kitchen, a sitting room and the bedroom. It was more like an apartment and was very comfortable. It's historic but we loved the quaintness of it. Our reservation also included a free breakfast every morning and the choices were excellent! They also had a free happy hour that included appetizers/drinks every evening. The common areas of the hotel are very relaxing and inviting. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to just relax. The staff was also very helpful in helping me plan day trips. I plan on staying here every time I come to Asheville.
If you are like me, I always read the reviews! lol This place is beyond perfect! The staff was on point, the room was STUNNING, and the food was to die for! Its a hidden gem! BTW don't miss the afternoon cocktail hour :) This place has converted me to a bed and breakfast lover. If you are looking for a Instagram worthy place to stay in Asheville with great food and an amazing staff.... this is the place.
Princess Anne Hotel was better than I expected. I was greeted with the most pleasant staff and yummy homemade desserts. My room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The manager's reception had wonderful and nice wines and more yummy homemade treats. The rooms have espresso machines and cold creamers in the fridge. Every sitting area inside and outside is delightful and quiet. The breakfast was yummy. Their cuban inspired coffee was a treat. Thank you for giving me the restful retreat I needed. I will definitely come again.
We loved this hotel. It is not right in the city center but within walking distance of everything we wanted to see within the city. Our room was very large, with a kitchen, dining area, living room and bedroom. It felt more like our own apartment than a hotel which created a comfortable and cozy stay. I have to mention that you could hear some street noise, in which they provide you ear plugs (but I am sure much more quiet than in the city) and in our room the floor slanted slightly and did squeak some (hardwood floors) but I thought it added to the charm of the hotel. There were gorgeous seating areas both inside with a fireplace, and an outside porch to enjoy the evenings. The staff was extraordinary! And each evening they provided us with a charcuterie board and free wine! The breakfast that was included was also phenomenal! If I ever return to Asheville, this is where I want to stay.…
We would go back to the Princess Anne and stay anytime we return to Asheville. It is an old, quaint hotel with the ambiance of going back in time. The rooms are big, clean and have everything you need. Ours had a small kitchenette and small refrigerator. The people who work there are very friendly, helpful and make you feel like you are welcome from the minute you walk in the door to when you leave. The breakfast is like no other. You have different selections every day. The food is fresh, plentiful and delicious. In the evening they offer a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres. Wonderful experience. Interesting history. Great location. I will be back!
We have stayed here twice now while in Asheville for the Southern Conference basketball tournament. Even though we don’t get to enjoy the afternoon wine time, this is our first choice to stay. The rooms are just what we need - clean, big enough, and a sense of privacy. We like the extra seating area with the refrigerator and cook top. You are simply not going to ever find a better breakfast anywhere! Options and choices you wish were repeated. Simply outstanding hospitality and close enough without being too close.
My stay at The Princess Anne Hotel was fantastic! Jenni greeted us warmly and was always available and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast that was included was delicious All of the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend staying there on any trip to the area. I hope to return.
