We had a lovely stay at the Princess Anne hotel. It isn’t a brand new, sleek place but it is lovely, clean and comfortable. We had a suite on the 3rd floor with a kitchenette, a dining table a couch and a comfy queen bed. Communication fro the hotel was prompt and effective. Lots of careful covid procedures in place and we were the only ones at breakfast during our “reserved” time (It was delicious) We walked into the city center which took about 10 minutes tops. we will return to Asheville during non pandemic times and will happily stay at the Princess Anne again.

Hotel's Favorite
Historic Inn oozing with charm. Convenient, safe parking behind the Inn. Can’t say enough about the staff - they were all friendly, helpful, and engaging. Breakfast provided was ample and tasty - 4 options available and two were vegetarian which pleased the other couple traveling with us. Wine and appetizers provided each afternoon were quite nice. And the homemade cookies/brownies provided throughout the day - heavenly. The chef/baker here is just exceptional. Remember this is a historic inn so yes, the floors creak. Our bedroom tv was on the side wall so yes, you had to look sideways. No, it doesn’t have a magnifying makeup mirror in the bathroom. But the friendliness and expertise of the staff - and the great baked goods - more than makes up for any non-modern inconveniences.

Hi RonC979! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It's great to hear you were able to enjoy a lot of the amenities we provide at the Princess Anne Hotel. Chef Ness is fantastic! I always, very much, enjoy the brownies...probably more than I should. I'm happy to tell you I have just ordered magnifying mirrors for all the rooms. I always appreciate hearing from our guests. Thank you for that suggestion. We hope to see you again!

This is the third or fourth time visiting the Prince Anne hotel over the years. They were VERY COVID friendly; still keeping with their traditional happy hour with wine, appetizers, and farm to table breakfast. They provided a complimentary bottle of wine and charcuterie plate to enjoy in our room in place of their typical happy hour in order to stay COVID appropriate. They had breakfast times by reservation and we were spaced out much more then 6 feet. I felt very safe and the staff was amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend the Princess Anne hotel and will definitely stay there next time I’m visiting.

We absolutely loved Princess Anne Hotel! Everyone there was so hospitable and kind. Complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres by the fireplace each afternoon was a great way to wind down after a day of hiking or sightseeing. The breakfasts were amazing! Everything was so fresh and tasty. The hotel is in a great location as well, just a couple of minutes away from downtown. We will definitely be staying here again.

We actually didn't know about this hotel before researching other options after finding out one of our favorite Asheville B&B's was booked when we wanted to come. I'm glad we did because this place is amazing! If you like boutique hotels that are within walking distance of downtown, you've got to check it out. We were very happy with our room, the service, the incredible breakfasts, and the afternoon wine & cheese which they started offering again after a hiatus when we visited in late October 2020. They did a magnificent job customizing to my wife's flexitarian diet. Instead of an afternoon cheese plate, they gave us a plate of wonderful crackers, nuts, relish and pickled veggies. My wife mentioned that it was great to see a hotel run by women (the desk clerks, the head chef, the server, etc.). They also let you know that it's not unusual for black bears to be on the property (we saw some rummaging through the trashcans) but they will leave you alone if you leave them alone. They had contactless check in, and there was plenty of sanitizer available and there were always delicious cookies and treats in the lobby. Our room was on the third floor and we took the antique elevator to bring our luggage up but pretty much took the stairs the rest of the time. We also enjoyed the porch area when the weather was nice, and the sitting area with a gas fireplace. Your stay includes breakfast, and they change up their offerings every day for a little variety. Everything we had was delicious. Highly recommended.
