With a unique posh-punk attitude towards hospitality, the Radical is truly one in a million. It’s got all the stuff you expect from a luxury hotel (service, comfort, safety, amenities) but is completely unexpected when it comes to design, atmosphere, and attitude. More than a hotel, it’s a living organism — an unexpected collection of uses, spaces, and personalities — buzzing with creative energy, and grounded in a collective consciousness. The Radical is up for anything, and down for whatever, with surprises waiting to be discovered around every corner. Come as you are, stay in the present, and be fearlessly Radical.

We enjoyed the freshness of the hotel and the stimulating decor. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet. The details throughout were wonderful, including the fixtures, cabinetry, TV, lighting, right down to the stickers on the fresh toilet paper roll. Many nice touches surrounded us.

Very much appreciated was the lack of artificial fragrances.

Justin at the rooftop bar was exceptional, mixing fantastic cocktails while providing very helpful tips about the area. The rooftop experience also featured a gorgeous view from the fireside sofas.

We would recommend a bit more light in the entrance hallway and inside the armoire cabinet.
It would be good to have some access to food if the restaurants are not open, ie prepared charcuterie or sealed cured meats - just something aside from the candy cars and chips.

This is a rock and roll fantasy wrapped up into one of the most unique boutique hotel experiences in the nation. With an urban themed artist design and decor, The Radical takes you to a place of creative comfort. Offering a fine dining experience, rooftop bar, coffee shop, open air gift shop, valet parking, artist galleries, bars and restaurants all around and a staff that is so incredibly kind and fun, The Radical is a must stay while in Asheville. If you desire downtown, The Radical is less than 2 miles away. Huge fan!!!!! This is an all in one, casual, art hotel with so much more than you would have ever expected.

Attention to every detail. The restaurant and rooftop bar have tremendous locally-sourced healthy and delicious food and an extremely knowledgeable and welcoming team. The River Arts District is my new favorite place to stay: tremendous artists, music at Salvage Station, bike, and pedestrian paths, coffee shops . . .

Love, love, love this hotel! Located in the River Arts District this hotel is a wokr of art itself. Beautiful unique space with amazing attention to detail! The hotel itself is so amazing you don't have to leave, but if you do you can't beat the location, so many fun walkable art galleries and boutiques. Don't miss the rooftop, we were able to enjoy a few truly amazing sunsets before heading down to the restaurant for dinner. I went with friends a few months ago and am already booked to go back in a few weeks with my SO.

Absolutely wonderful! The Radical is a piece of art all on its own. I booked for my 11 year old daughter, who is a budding artist and general lover of all things odd and interesting so that she could experience everything the river arts district has to offer. Walking distance to some of the best galleries and studios. You could spend hours just looking at all the graffiti and art in the hotel alone. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and overall the BEST! The rooftop is amazing to look at the stars and enjoy a cocktail. Afterglow has amazing coffee. Overall, well done!

Very friendly and rooms were large. Is a converted factory. Smelled like cement to me, had trouble getting to sleep. Restaurant in lower floor was pretty good but pricey for the food. Bad parking situation, some parking in rear, $39 for valet to park you across the street. Was approached by homeless person outside. Not great for us but I could see how younger clientele would enjoy it.

The Radical is in a great location with lots to do within walking distance and just a short drive to downtown. The restaurant is awesome. Delicious food and excellent service. We loved the decor and ambiance all throughout the hotel and room. We couldn’t sleep though. Between noise from the hall, the neighboring rooms, and outside, trying to get some sleep was near impossible. Next time we’ll bring earplugs & a few bottles of melatonin.

Hello Tommyball19, We are delighted you loved our location here in the River Arts District as well as our fare at Golden Hour! Thank you for appreciating the art-focused decor that is integral to our vibe here at The Radical! We are sorry, however, that sleep eluded you due to outside noise, which is unusual. We hope for the chance to earn your top score one day.

Really nice stay at the Radical. Highly recommend for a couples trip. The hotel is brand new and everything was immaculate. We especially loved the location. It is close to everything and had a convenient parking lot behind the hotel we could come and go from with ease. We ate an excellent lunch at the hotel restaurant, Afterglow. If you go, be sure to try the seafood beignets!

There is a lot to do within walking distance, including the Wedge brewery and a couple other bars/restaurants on Paynes Way. I also squeezed in a hair appointment with Michele at Ananda hair studio on Paynes Way, which was great and so easy.

My husband made a lot of use of the nearby river trail for daily runs. He said he preferred it to downtown because it avoided having to do a big hill at the end of every run. The hotel also has a nice looking gym and hosted roof yoga at 9am on Saturday.

It was like staying in an art gallery. Every where I looked, there was something that made me smile.
The room had thoughtful details, my favorite was the magnified makeup mirror. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was awesome.
The restaurant and bar staff were friendly and the food was very good.

This is a really neat hotel with great employees. The decor is amazing from lobby to room to roof top bar. Room was immaculately clean when we arrived and again each afternoon when we got back to recharge. The rooftop bar is definitely a highlight. Filled with a mix of guests and locals each night. Views of distant thunderstorms over the river were memorable. Bartenders were excellent with drinks and info about Asheville. Folks at front desk and the coffee shop were great to deal with all weekend. They all seemed to be really happy to help with whatever we needed. Will be back….
