My wife and I recently stayed at this Country Inn & Suites while visiting Asheville. I was a little concerned about the place after seeing some reviews say it was old and worn. I needn’t have worried. Other than some carpet that needs replacement in front of the main floor elevator and some tiny wallpaper peels in the hallway if you look closely, this is an immaculately maintained motel. It is dated, but has a new-old look. By that I mean the design looks old, but the quality is almost recent build. The staff make you feel warmly welcomed, are helpful and seem genuinely cheerful. Our room was a one-bedroom king suite at a price less than we would have paid for a regular room in other Ashville motels. Our room felt fresh and clean. The living room included a comfy couch, chair, coffee table, dry bar, large screen TV, desk with chair, fridge, microwave and dry bar. There are lots of outlets on the desk and a single cup coffee maker on the bar. Don’t worry about coffee though, there is always hot coffee on in the lobby. The bathroom is roomy and clean. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed, dresser, big screen TV and night stands with lamps. TV service includes a channel guide. Everything in the room worked well. Breakfast is good. There are hot and cold options for most people. I see three places where there could be improvement: (1) If you are a CPAP user and want to sleep on the right side of the bed, you’ll have to pull out the nightstand and unplug the clock or lamp, (2) I wish there were two luggage stands. They are like most motels and only provide one. (3) There is no charging station provision for electric vehicles, not even an extra outlet. This is a very good place to stay and an excellent value. We will definitely return.

Hi Alan, We are so thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! I will let our staff know how warm and friendly you found them. It is true that we are an older hotel but as you mentioned we try to keep it in top notch condition. We are scheduled to have a renovation later this year so hopefully we can make updates to address the issues you mentioned. Thank you again for your kind words and we look forward to having you stay with us again soon. All the best, Jeanne Mercier General Manager

My wife and I visited Asheville for a hastily planned weekend getaway. Needless to say, hotels in Asheville are quite expensive on the weekends. However, we found a fantastic value in the Country Inn and Suites, and if you aren't a high maintenance traveler, this is definitely the place to go! I booked our room online but a king bed was not a choice, so I booked a room with two queen beds. Upon arrival, I asked about a king room, and for $10 extra a night was upgraded to a king suite. The fantastic staff started everything out perfectly, and I couldn't have been happier with the check in process! There was always HOT coffee in the lobby (no matter what time you grabbed a cup) and it was very good coffee, not the usual swill you find at most places. Cookies and fresh fruit were also available 24/7 in the lobby as well. The suite and bathroom were immaculately clean. In fact, this was hands down one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in. The suite itself was quite sizable and left us plenty of room to relax. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. Our room was right next to the elevator, yet we heard no noise from other patrons or the elevator itself. The only drawback is the number of limited parking spaces and they are quite narrow, but if you are attentive to parking straight and centered in the spot you will not have a problem unless you drive a land yacht sized vehicle (unfortunately there were a few idiots who parked crooked and on the line, rendering the spots next to them useless). The breakfast in the morning was fantastic with two quick belgian waffle machines. The entire area was clean and well maintained. The juice actually tasted like real juice and not some watered down juice drink. On Sunday they served bacon and biscuits!!! That totally made my day before we checked out. Compared to the cost of other hotels in Asheville this place is a total bargain and when we go back to visit Asheville again (and we definitely will) we will certainly stay here again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We loved the room and closeness to restaurants and shopping. Staff was great. In town for the Hot Doggett ride and will be back next year if not sooner. I would most definitely recommend this hotel. Our room felt like being home.

We wanted to stay at the Country Inn downtown but there was no availability so we settled for this one. Location is good, off the main road so nice and quiet. The hotel is showing major wear and tear. Our bathroom floor tiles were loose and coming up. The breakfast room seemed dirty. We only ate their once. Staff were nice and helpful.

When you think of romantic honeymoon stays, budget-chain hotels are not usually what you'd expect to book. However, Country Inn & Suites in Asheville completely changed the game for me, and made me sincerely re-think how I may have undervalued such budget-friendly hotels in the past. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful with all our needs, from the little things like needing shaving cream, to bigger things like printing/ emailing important documents during our stay. They also have some delicious complimentary cookies for your taking at any time during your stay; true southern hospitality! The breakfast selection was much wider than I expected, and truly had more than we could ask for in the spread of food, that also changed a bit every day. It was delicious, and I enjoyed starting every morning with such a good meal. The room was impeccably clean; we were also given a room with a jacuzzi (requested) as it was our honeymoon, and that really helped to set the tone. Not to mention we received a complimentary bottle of Biltmore wine upon check-in to our honeymoon stay - a lovely way to start our trip! The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was well stocked and also kept clean. My only "complaint" would be the shower being a bit too small even for singular use, and despite the shower curtain in place, we would often wet the bathroom floor outside as the curtain wasn't long enough. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you very much for making my honeymoon a wonderful, relaxing experience!
