This was our first visit with new owners. They are keeping the tradition going nicely. Everything seems to be in order. We arrived on second day of "new normal" due to Corona virus. The inn handled everything in a very professional and light hearted manner. Although we are sure they were stressed we still saw a lot of smiles. I would not hesitate to visit during this trying time. We had a great visit as always.

This was the ideal place for our couples getaway! There was ample space in both the dining and gathering rooms to accommodate 12 couples and the guest rooms were both beautiful and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were amazing and our special lunch was perfect after exploring the trails around the inn. Close to Asheville, but super private at the same time I imagine the grounds are gorgeous during any season. And, did I mention the food was amazing? The whole experience was a treat!

What a gem of a place. Beautiful, spacious room with a fireplace all set up to go with wood and starters. A very comfortable bed. A balcony overlooking the mountains. A homemade breakfast, with a wonderful frittata one day and the best French toast I've ever eaten on the second morning. We had two dinners (liquor license coming, but it was still BYOB) that were both wonderful- filet mignon with tomato compote and squash puree, duck confit with a raspberry sauce, swordfish cooked to perfection, a chocolate "biscuit" like a brownie with pears and chocoloate sauce, lavendar and honey gelato, bone broth soup with squash, frisee/arugula salad with feta. Every bite was fantastic. We also bought a falconry package by former owner Jeff Curtis, and it's a unique, terrific experience with hawks that land on your arm probably a dozen times, in our case as snowflakes fell in a field for a magical effect, and Jeff shared his extensive knowledge. (You can do this package at Biltmore with Jeff, too.) We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. There's also a tub with candles and a window overlooking the snowy woods. (There is no TV, in the room but internet allowed us to watch a movie on our laptop.)

A hidden gem in the mountains, my wife and I really enjoyed the quiet beauty of the Sourwood Inn and its 100 acre grounds (with hiking trails!). We stayed for three nights and ate twice for dinner and three times for breakfast at the elegantly understated restaurant. The food and service were fantastic. All of our meals were well prepared with care and were delicious. The inn's owners and wait staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive. The views from our room and many other parts of the inn were excellent and we spent many a long while drinking in the Blue Ridge mountains, clouds and stars. We highly recommend the Sourwood Inn for a beautiful, quiet getaway in the mountains surrounding Asheville.

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of celebrating my wife's surprise birthday at Sourwood Inn. Two other couples came in to share in our surprise, neither of whom had ever had the pleasure of visiting Sourwood. They would not be disappointed. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating to our litany of "pre-arrival" requests, and once we arrived, were beyond attentive to our every need. Of course, the Inn was as warm and inviting as it always has been, and every single staff member wore permanent and authentic smiles. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and expertly decorated. The grounds were in pristine condition and the food was outstanding. We met some other guests who like us, were "repeat customers" and we all agreed that coming to Sourwood is a must. Thank you so much for making this very special weekend one that we will never forget.
