We stayed at the Sourwood Inn for a couple of nights after our wedding in Asheville, and it was the perfect spot for our mini-moon! We were looking for a quiet bed & breakfast in the mountains with great views and food, and Sourwood was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed walking the trails, sitting out by the fireplace before dinner with our complimentary welcome bubbles, eating delicious food in the dining room, enjoying the view from the reading porch, and driving 5 minutes over to the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy the foliage and views. We stayed in Sassafras Cabin and particularly loved the giant two-story window overlooking the trees. Proal, Connie, and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and friendly during our stay. We hope to return someday in the future!

It’s hard to say anything but how great this place is to get away. In fact, you cannot say anything negative. Beautiful, secluded, special and inviting, the Sourwood Inn is a perfect couples get-a-way. Each suite is awesome, with enough space to enjoy the whole day alone with your own fireplace, balcony and accoutrements. Add delicious food options, a bottle of wine, or beers, and boom. Couples enjoy!

Stayed 3 nights at the Sourwood Inn during a family reunion, and it is was wonderful. The Inn is gorgeous and also casual and comfortable. The owners are so gracious and helpful with anything you may need. Breakfast buffet every morning was delicious and always different. The wet room bath with shower and huge tub were great, and wood burning fireplace was a nice feature. Wood burning fireplaces are in the living area, dining room, and outdoor patio, and the innkeepers will start the fire for you.

This was the amazing get away that I so yearned for. My spouse and I experienced superb accommodations from the beginning to end. I hope to return because I loved absolutely everything about our stay with them, including but not limited to our spacious but cozy & comfortable room(s), the common indoor spaces, the food, the selection of beer and wine, their outdoor lounge space, their trail in their backyard, Connie & Proal & staff, and so much more. Thank you, Sourwood Inn!

Wonderful inn. The food was superb as we had dinner there both nights of our stay. Connie and Proal have created a welcoming environment in a unique setting. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.

The fall leaves are spectacular from the porch and windows. Food is creative plentiful and very tasty. The steep driveway is memorable but quite doable. Great place to get away from it all. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable.

My wife and I found this jewel 24 years ago. The new Innkeepers, Connie & Proal have maintained the character of the Inn from the founders while enhancing the environment from their deep experience in the food & wine industry. You will not be disappointed at this wonderful B&B off the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Asheville. A must do!

We stayed here two nights as Hurricane Ian's tropical storm was passing by! Highlight of our trip (and we had just come from the Biltmore Hotel!). Beautiful, cozy and quaint with lovely grounds. Prol and Connie and their staff were such gracious hosts. The food...absolutely amazing both breakfast and dinner! The 2 mile loop hike on the property is gorgeous. Real fireplaces in our room, the lobby, dining room and game room downstairs! Nothing better than watching a football game with a fire after a delicious meal!

Set on 100 acres near the top of a mountain, Sourwood Inn is an oasis of serenity and relaxation. Friends recommended it for our 25th anniversary, and we had an amazing stay. While the owners called it a cabin, we referred to our accommodations as a tree house, forest bathing with the tall windows and walking trails and picnicking. The meals were wholesome and delicious. And the owners struck the perfect balance of being available if we needed anything without being too solicitous. And the inn itself is both comfortable and beautiful.
