It is obvious the passion that Peter and Lori have for their B&B. Every item has their personal touch from conversation to breakfast to the design. My husband and I stayed in the Dogwood, which was such an interesting, charming room with 3 separate sections: the bedroom, the bathroom, and a small sitting room. The breakfasts were yummy and substantial,... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Black Walnut B&B Inn. Peter, Lori, Linda, and Beth were warm, accommodating, and knowledgeable hosts. The owners, Peter and Lori, are very involved in the running of the B&B and are delightful to talk to; both are terrific story tellers and have a great sense of humor. Peter's advice on things to do... More

Exquisitely decorated, stately but welcoming building, lovingly attented garden/property, and most of all: fantastic spoiling attention from Peter - the master story teller, Linda - so welcoming, she's like instant family - and Lori with her sharp sense of humor. The three of them double as serious kitchen stars, so enjoy their breakfasts and evening snacks.

Peter, Lori and Linda are wonderful innkeepers. The location is ideal. It is walk-able to downtown, and there are neighborhood restaurants within a couple blocks of the inn. The property itself is beautiful, the amenities are first rate. Breakfast is amazing, and the afternoon tea is delightful. Supposedly this is one of the Top 10 B&B's in the country, and... More

WOW! Our stay was wonderful. The afternoon tea was stupendous, the choice of four wines and the many hors d'oeuvres were quite delicious, the second night others were so ravenous there wasn't even enough for a second round. Our stay was in the Magnolia Room, very private and quite luxurious. The sheets were some of the softest we had ever... More

This will be our #1 choice when next staying in Asheville. Peter's wit and Lori's attentiveness were very much appreciated. The rooms were very well appointed and tastefully decorated. Convenient to all restaurants and downtown. Quick on/off 26. Most important, we were received graciously. Those of us who have stayed at B&B's know this is not always the case. But... More

My sister and I are teachers and stay in many Select Registry b & b's on our summer vacations together. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay at The Black Walnut. Peter, Lori, and Linda were excellent hosts. Everything from the afternoon social, the breakfasts, and room stay were excellent. We enjoyed walking the grounds, as well as down Montford... More

We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at The Black Walnut. Peter and Lori, as well as Linda, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Breakfast is a 3 course delight which kept us satisfied while exploring all that Asheville has to offer. Wine and hors d'ouevres were also delicious and a great way... More

I planned a surprise trip for my wife to Asheville. Normally my wife spends the time to read reviews and find the perfect place, so this was my first time using trip advisor. I admit I was a little hesitant choosing the Black Walnut from some reviews. Like I expected the people who left negative reviews should probably check themselves... More

What a wonderful trip! The Black Walnut is situated in a historic neighborhood of quiet, tree-lined streets yet not far from the "action" of downtown Asheville. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was gourmet all the way. I highly recommend it!
