We stayed for two nights in Lodge B. The lodge is old but clean. Balconies all have good views but Lodge A seemed to be the best. The restaurant was good, but serving on paper & plastic due to water shortage. There is a well stocked convenience store, but closed at 7 pm in the summer. We spent the days... More

Staying at Chisos mountain lodge was like a dream. Woke up in the morning with amazing mountains view and walked outside met deers. Having coffee while witnessed beautiful sunrise. What a great day to start my day in Big Bend National Park area. Room was nice. But they were close in the evening to 9am. So make sure you book... More

Lodge, although dated, is in a excellent location. The scenery is magnificent, with clear, unobstructed views of the Chisos Mountains. The rooms are large & clean, with a microwave and small dorm-type refrigerator. The bathrooms are very small, but adequate (commode & shower/tub only, with a separate sink station outside). The A/C worked quiet well, and there is a nice,... More

If you pkan to visit the whole park you have no choice: this is the place to be. Rooms are large and clean. Bathroom are at their minimum. Prefer the "room with a mountain view" : they cost 20 bucks more but the difference is worth. Only 3 points because the price - around usd 160 by night - is... More

You can't beat the location of the Chisos Mountain Lodge if your purpose is to see the park or hike. Easy access to many of the great hiking trails in the park. They also have a good restaurant and store which you can pick up a variety of items. The lodge rooms are just good basic comfort, nothing fancy. Our... More

You can't beat the backdrop to this place. Set in the Chisos Mountain basin, you're surrounded on all sides by breathtaking peaks and valleys, filled with trails, wildlife and nature. At night, you can sit on the balcony, stare up at the stars you likely can't see back home, and enjoy the quiet...and sometimes an animal or two walking by... More

Really good food and cabin! Beautiful and not too expensive. The food is much better than some city restaurant, chicken wings and veg. wrap are awesome! AC is not needed in summer. I chose the mountain cabin, the price is around 130. It is quiet and has mountain views. Small animal like fox passed sometimes.

My daughter and I stayed 2 nights during the month of June. I have stayed there several times before but it was her first time. She loved it even though the accommodations are not fancy by any means. The views and the peace and quite are worth the price you have to pay for the rooms. If you do plan... More

Thank you for your review! We're glad your daughter loved it. We certainly are a long way from everywhere, but we hope that adds to the experience. We always appreciate our guests efforts to help us conserve water, especially this year as we are experiencing an extreme water shortage in the Chisos Basin. We hope you'll come stay with us... The price is very good for what you are getting, namely a million dollar sunset on the balcony every night. The rooms could be updated and the prices are steep in the restaurant, but you cannot beat the scenery in the park during your stay. Check the beds good as a scorpion crawled in bed with us on the first... More

Thank you for your review! We're sorry about the scorpion, we do everything we can to avoid them, but it's a very difficult task in the desert. We're glad you enjoyed the sunset from your balcony! We hope you'll stay with us again soon. -Chisos Mountains Lodge More

The Chisos Mountain Lodge is located in an amazing mountain basin with wonderful views, hiking and lots of wildlife viewing. There are two sections to the lodge, one historic CCC stone cabins which are very charming and more secluded while the other half date to the 1960s and 1980s and are tired in their finishes and condition. The older cabins... More
