This is an update from 2014. There is new management and they are really trying. They have made improvements and are far more friendly than the previous owners. There is still a bit of a language barrier, but so what. I will stay here again next year, when we come up for the Iditarod.

The management was very helpful but does not speak English well. There was a lot of confusion with our reservations and accommodations. On the plus side, nice view of the Arctic Ocean outside the window, restaurant down stairs, and a bar next door.

I have stayed here a number of years during Iditarod Race. This year is new management. Saddest hotel now. There's no housekeeping. If you want clean towels or sheets, you must request it. The rooms are filthy. Sinks leak, heaters don't work, bed is broken. I put 4 Bibles I found under the bed, at the broken mattress. Shavers left...

Rustic yet comfortable hotel in Nome. Rooms are basic, but above average when compared to other local options. However, they are clean, linen is clean, and blackout curtains fairly effective. Very well located for most Nome activities and sights

The Nugget use to be one of the better places, but a little worn. Rooms are small. Showers are very poor. No opening windows. had to ask for heater in room, extra towels, soap etc. Staff could definitely improve their service. Location is excellent. bar is seasonal. Adjoining restaurant so so. Get a room on the second floor sea side....

Stayed here a few times while in town on business. The accommodations are pretty spartan. The best part was the view from my hotel room. There were some local folks drunk just sitting in the snow having a great time. I sat and watched them for awhile. I would have joined them but it was like 10 degrees out. The...

Its all relative, I know, but really, this hotel is old, tired, dirty, small rooms, dirty sheets, cold, dirty bathrooms, missing plumbing parts, doors that won't lock, door handle that fell off. It was comical, except that it wasn't. Stuck overnight with a $170 bill for a poor nights sleep - I should have bought a tarp and used my...

The front desk staff are very friendly and do make an effort to make sure you are happy. There are better options in Nome in the same price range, but I'd stay here again. The building is old and not without issues. The bathrooms are functional, but I woudln't call them nice. Some rooms have comfy foam mattresses, but not...

PERFECT LOCATION for the Iditarod. Front desk staff tries very hard. However, this place is FILTHY. The only good thing to say is no bed bugs (and good cable tv.) We requested new linens including clean bedspread - as they had not been changed when we got there. Bathroom... ICK. Three cans of beer left under bed from previous user....

Its almost a shame to write anything negative but I have to be honest! The guy on front desk is the best thing about this hotel and the reason we didn't move after the first night. Lee is just incredible and could not do enough to help us. Local information, a cup of coffee, directions, ordering a cab - he...
