August 5-10, 2016 was a week of fantastic weather at the beach. Sure we had lots of mosquitoes once the sun went down, but while on the beach, it was perfect. Great breeze, no bugs, and the whole beauty of camping (and worth all the work) is almost having the beach to yourselves! Every beach camping review says to bring... More

A nice quiet beach. The campsites are comfortably spaced apart. Only drawback is there is horse droppings everywhere, even the beach. Too bad staff can't take care of the droppings on the beach, its everywhere! Nice renovated bathhouse, very clean. Hard to get electric spots since there is only the "H" loop which has a limited supply, takes a year... More

There are brand new hot showers and bath houses in the state park. The beaches are almost empty and no life guards to tell you what you can and cannot do. The camp hosts are great but camping here is different and harder that other types of camping. Sand is everywhere. There are bugs depending on which way the wind... More

Just returned from a week at ocean pines Maryland. We really enjoyed our stay there but the highlight was assategue state park beach. It's a very nice unspoiled area. Nothing commercial. They had very clean restrooms, showers, changing areas. A small gift shop and snack bar with very good food reasonably priced. The wild ponies come right on the beach,... More

This is a beautiful State Park. We camped here for 3 Days 2 nights and had a blast! Just to let everybody know because I think a lot of people are wondering the bathrooms are clean! There is also hot water in the showers. The first day that we were there there wasn't a lot of mosquitoes or flies because... More

Assateague State park was amazing. My whole family loved it! We tent camped for 4 nights in loop b site 18. Site 14 looked like the best. Close to beach and bathroom but really any site in that loop was good. We spent our days relaxing and swimming at the beach. My kids loved the waves and if you can... More

Great time camping with my family for my brothers birthday. Horses are super friendly but you must make sure not to leave food out they will try to eat it at night. Camping so close to the beach you can hear the waves as you fall asleep. One of my favorite camping experiences. I plan to visit again.

First time here... We dry camped in our travel trailer right behind the dunes July 4th weekend. Beaches were awesome and bathrooms were the BEST I've ever seen at a state park! Very clean! Staff were friendly and we saw rangers patrolling often. The wild horses roaming through the park were SO COOL!!! We will be going back!! (Book early!... More

I last stayed here in the Fall. The beaches are clean and not crowded. The horses are very friendly but keep the food away from them or they will go after it. We had no problem with the horses and kept our food in coolers. You take a 50/50 chance with the flies and the mosquitoes all depends on if... More

The sites are clean and level and being close to the ocean and wild horses is awesome. At night you can hear the ocean and horses if you have your windows open. Disappointed all the bathhouses were closed anywhere near us. Since beach is for campers only the beaches are not crowded or dirty and you can see so much... More
