A bit disappointed on the services and the room. Might be that my experiences in the other Ritz-Carlton hotels were very good. For this one, there is no instruction or sign for hotel guests where to park their car. The staff of the reception was not very friendly. The tap water in my room is not working properly.
Hello, On May 13th my husband and I arrived at your location to celebrate my birthday. I chose to valet my vehicle. I believe I was serviced by Ben. This was an awesome first impression. He was very welcoming and smiled the entire time. My husband, Kory Nicholson, was at the desk waiting to be checked in. There was someone already being serviced so he stood in line. Another guest was behind him. The Ritz associate never acknowledged my African American 6 foot 2 inches husband, and instead addressed the person standing behind him. He found that odd and disrespectful. We go to our room, 1810 I believe. We ordered room service. We ate half our food and then went down to the pool. We approached the spa’s desk and the employee was on the phone. It probably took her an entire minute to acknowledge us. She didn’t look up, smile, tell us she’d be with us in a minute or anything. I thought that was rude. She hung up the phone and then acknowledged us and told us where the pool was. Upon our return, we noticed that our room door was not closed. We literally pushed it open and noticed that our half eaten food was gone. This confirmed that we didn’t leave our room door ajar, the staff did. Thankfully nothing was missing, we were safe and there was strawberries and champagne waiting for us. We called downstairs because the TV was inoperable. A technician came immediately and reset it. Then customer service contacted us and gave us points for the inconvenience. Thank you. We called down to see if we could take the shuttle to Eddie V’s for a 945pm reservation. We were told to come downstairs. We were probably down by 920pm. At 9:29 we were still sitting on an empty shuttle. I know bc that is the time stamp on the pictures we took. We waited 20 minutes. Eventually the driver arrived and we made it to Eddie V’s by 944pm. On May 14th, I went to the spa for a 9am appointment, which had been rescheduled and booked as a body scrub instead bc the masseuse had a death in the family. I appreciated the accommodations. The same lady was at the desk. She acted totally confused when checked in and I told her that we received the call to change and reschedule the service. I stepped aside and let the guest behind me check in because I didn’t want to inconvenience that woman the way I was being inconvenienced and embarrassed when the employee couldn’t confirm my service. My name is not that hard. It’s Lijah Naomi Smith-Nicholson. The lady behind me had a name harder than mine. After a 3 minute conversation the employee finds my name and confirms my service. Her customer service got surprisingly better. She told me I was 30 minutes early (maybe that confused her) and recommended the steam room and sauna in the meantime. The body scrub was relaxing and awesome but more importantly the technician was above board. I appreciated that. My husband and I checked out at 11am and recapped our first experience at the Ritz Carlton. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel is supposed to be a place where the genuine care and comfort of guests is the highest mission. I try to be as unproblematic as one can be, but I don’t believe we were provided the finest personal service nor did we receive warm welcomes from every employee. Please do better, remind or retrain the staff of your standards. Some of them put our safety at risk and others treated us like 2nd class citizens. Lijah Naomi Smith Nicholson…
I'd been having a bad run on hotel stays for the last 6 months and the Ritz reminded me why it's the Ritz and really over delivered. We stopped here on our way back from a family event and requested early check in and the hotel was great about communicating and keeping us up to date on what/ would not be possible. They ultimately accommodated our early check in. Front desk was helpful, kind, and well organized- they went out of their way to make sure our elderly parents who were behind were taken care of. Small but nice detail: It was Mother's Day and they had flowers for the ladies. At turn down, mother's day chocolates were by the bed side. The room was comfortable and well appointed, the gym was fantastic- equipment was clean, modern & actually working (a rarity at hotels these days). The onsite wine bar had a nice selection and the bartender, Sasha was terrific. I did not fully appreciate how great the location was. We at at the nearby Palm and the Ritz is actually adjacent to a fantastic mall. I knew it was nearby but did not realize we'd be able to park and walk to everything without leaving the hotel grounds. Added touch: A bottle of champagne (my favorite) and macaroons were in our room as a welcome gift. In summary, top notch service, fantastic location and a great hotel. Highly recommend.…
Class, Style and Elegance is what one expects from a Ritz Carlton Property and The R/C-Tysons Corner delivers on that expectation. I had a flown to IAD airport and had a flight change which resulted in my need to find a hotel for a 1 night stay. American Express helped me find a hotel and recommended The R/C Tysons Corner. The Hotel is about 20 minutes from IAD and is in the heart of a corporate park and is attached to a high end shopping galleria. The reception area is what one would expect - dark wood, highly polished and ornate decor - but the staff is hardly pretentious. James assisted me with my need for an early check in so that I could continue working. My room was on the 16th floor and was simply lovely. Very modern in design and bright. The bathroom was extremely well lit with all the necessities. I dined in the hotel dining room - and was treated to a wey nice meal - Mushroom Gnocchi. My Dirty martini was perfect and there was live music. The Shuttle was available to taking guests to the neighboring mall location, restaurants and also to shops within a 5 mile radius. The driver Roman was really gracious and pleasant. It was evident he took pride in accomodating the guests requests and if the shuttle was not able to pick up a guest at an appointed time, Roman ensured an Uber was dispatched to assist the guest. The fruited ice water in the lobby was refreshing but it was the Mimosas and champagne that really made you feel like royalty. My only criticism was the parking team. They really didnt understand the needs of many of the guests and that seemed a hiccup in the smooth machine of The R/C Tysons Corner. There was a sp and I considered making the time to visit the spa but work precluded me from doing so, I will certainly return to The R/C Tysons Corner when I have a need to be in the DC area.…
This place is amazing and the staff/service is exceptional. We will be staying here every time we come this way. This is a 6 star hotel in my mind. Loved everything about it. Trust me you won't go wrong staying here. Coming back for my birthday weekend. Already booked it.
All Staff are courteous and welcoming. It’s a nice touch to have champagne with hors d’oeuvres at check in and mimosa’s at check out. I loved the high end mall attached to the hotel. It is perfectly placed for that special buy. The restaurant had live music to enjoy with dinner or just drinks. We will definitely visit again.
We booked 6 rooms to celebrate a birthday at the tysons Ritz. Of course the location being connected to The Galleria was why we picked that particular Ritz but the outstanding Customer service is why we would Come back over and over again! We booked with Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. kaitlyn sent a wonderful welcome note and became an immediate point of contact to organize our group together with connecting rooms and took note of our celebrations. When we arrived Mariam from Conceirge did an outstanding job welcoming us and making sure that every thing was perfect! And really cared. Vincent made our celebratory brunch outstanding with his team and arranged for our 20 person dining experience. Moana was fabulous and teddy was great!! Also a shout out to Yoshoda who we spoke to before arriving and gave us great advice before checking in. I highly recommend coming here! All of the families in our party loved it. For the locals it was a vacation an hour away from home and us coming from California it was a relaxing and fun getaway!!…
I stay at the Ritz around the world. If you are coming to VA, don’t stay at this Ritz Tyson’s. It’s disorganized and the staff do not have the skill set required for a Ritz clientele: slow, lazy, “yes” you but don’t actually Follow-through, chaotic disorganized front desk. You will be aggravated not relaxed dealing with this location.
A friends weekend was made especially nice with a stay at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner. The food was fantastic and the staff exceptional, especially Leo Guerra at the spa - he is an amazing masseuse (strong, very skilled and so intuitive) - one of the best massages I’ve ever had, and I’ve had hundreds! I’ll be back for the renovated spaces/restaurant but I’ll stay for the massage!! Thanks to the whole RC Team!!
My husband and I stayed at this hotel in search of a luxurious and restful weekend after the winter storm that hit Northern Virginia the first week of January 2022. We stayed through our Amex Platinum card and were excited to continue adding properties to our journal of hotel collection. The lobby is located on the fourth floor, and due to this valet parking and check-in was a bit confusing. You enter the building and have to take the elevator to the fourth floor to check-in. After that you must take the elevators on the left side of the lobby to find the guest- rooms. Check-in was timely. Unfortunately this is the third time that we have visited (there different properties in two states) that a "complimentary" upgrade was not available. It seems that it is a recurrent issue with Amex holders rather that property inventory. Breakfast credit was not explained neither the $100 property credit. These are minor things however our biggest disappointment comes from the lack of cleanliness of the guest room. We stayed on the 19th floor and the we found debris on the trash bins, hairs on hand towels and inside the tub (body hairs). The surfaces were very dusty, half-used body lotion bottle, the room did not smell fresh and hot water takes a couple of minutes to warm up. The reservation was for two adults and only one bathrobe was available. Overall the bathroom is very small ad uncomfortable. The bed was a king size and the mattress was on the softer side. The pillows did not smell fresh. As for the spa and swimming pool, the spa is very beautiful and it offers many amenities. It is highly recommended. The restaurant offer decent lunch and dinner dishes. Breakfast was not good. Low protein options and the yogurt parfait I ordered was warm and watery from sitting on the counter. Saturday night live music was pleasant and the atmosphere is inviting. We had dinner reservations outside of the property therefore I do not have a review for dinner service. Overall the property is elegant, warm, and can offer a high-quality stay to guests. It will need better communication for when guests enter the property to help with check-in process and it needs better cleaning practices.…
