Hotel's Favorite
This was our 13th visit to the hotel according to hotel staff, our first post-pandemic. The facility was clean, as were our rooms. The hotel is centrally located and is our preferred hotel when we visit the DC area. If there is one area where Hilton needs to change, it's on the new no-free-breakfast policy. For Diamond members accustomed to a free breakfast a $12 credit toward an expensive breakfast is a message Hilton shouldn't want to send. But other than the excuse of a pandemic to eliminate free breakfasts, our visit was excellent in every way. Of note, on checkout, when I mentioned my displeasure with the breakfast credit, the woman said all the right things, but clearly did not care and did not offer to convey my feelings to anyone.

Thank you sharing your experience. Wow, 13 visits; thank you for continuing to return. The team loves welcoming back familiar faces and we appreciate being your hotel of choice in the DC area. The housekeeping team will be thrilled to read your comment on the cleanliness of the hotel as they work hard to make that happen. Actually, Hilton made the change to the food credit vs. the free breakfast based on feedback from various Honors members. Some are not breakfast eaters or their company pays for breakfast, so the complimentary breakfast is not beneficial to them. So the thought behind the food credit is that the Honors member can decide when to use it as it can be at breakfast, the bar, or dinner. Your feedback on the credit will be shared with Hilton as they often ask about comments we have heard from guests. I am sorry that you are not a fan of the new credit. Your comment about your check out experience is appreciated. I am sorry you did not feel heard. The agent may have thought being it is a Hilton Worldwide program vs. something specific to this hotel that we could not share the feedback. We will be sure to let the team know that all feedback can be shared and Hilton welcomes this as many decisions are made based on the guest suggestions. Thank you again for sharing your review and for staying with us. We hope to welcome you back soon for visit number 14. As always, I invite anyone reading my responses to contact me anytime. The rooms are small for the price. Just enough walking space. I had connecting rooms, if not for that we would have been crammed and it was just four of us. Have to make reservations for the pool which is a one hour slot that is not monitored, therefore pointless. Staff was nice, restaurant expensive. Order Chick-fil-A in advance for your family lol

Thank you for your review. We have many different room types that offer different sizes. Should you return, please be sure to look at the different options to find one that is comfortable for you. Having been and worked for many hotels, I can let our readers know that our standard hotel rooms are the same size as you will find at most hotels. Unlike most area hotels that closed their pools, we have kept ours open. In this area it is required that without a lifeguard that the occupancy of the pool area is limited and the only way to do this is with reservations. Your comment on the staff is very much appreciated. We are fortunate to be in an area that offers so many dining options. While many choose to enjoy harth or the lounge, others decide to dine out. Thank you again for your review and for staying with us. We hope you return soon. As always, I invite anyone reading my responses to contact me anytime. Happy travels – Kevin B. The hotel is beautiful, the room is nice and the staff was very friendly! And this is a prime location if you want to go to DC. The bar in the hotel had a pretty avatar menu, but outside of it that everything is amazing.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is always rewarding to read about a positive stay experience. The team will be thrilled with your comment about the friendliness. We are fortunate to be located close enough to DC for our guests to easily access it and also in an area that is safe, with many dining/shopping options. I am unsure what an avatar menu is, but think you may have meant average. I hope you offered some suggestions as to what you would have liked to see on it as our Chef changes the menu; often times based on guest feedback. Thank you again for your review and for staying with us. We hope you return soon. As always, I invite anyone reading my responses to contact me anytime. Happy travels - Kevin B. Check in process was disappointed when we asked for an upgrade( one night stay), the gentleman at the desk tried to upsell us, they have rooms available (empty hotel) Low occupancy. With all their facilities closed they should think of “trying to make their guests happy” instead of trying to get an extra $35 for a larger room. Cons: Main restaurant closed Only the lounge is open: Menu limited. No in-room-dining: you need to order via their app and go get it. ( remove all the comfort of staying in a hotel ) Pool not accessible if you don’t have a reservation. The room was very dusty and mirrors dirty. The only Pro is : Free parking. Overall very disappointed experience, won’t come back.

Thank you for posting a review. It is not uncommon for a hotel to charge more for a larger room or suite, but I am sorry this upset you. As you can imagine, the two years of the pandemic have greatly effected hotel occupancies which is why certain amenities needed to be altered. Our main restaurant, harth, is open for breakfast and lunch and our lounge is open for dinner. As you may have seen when looking at other area hotels, most have closed their pools. We are happy to be only one of two hotels that still have a pool to offer to our guests. In this area it is required that without a lifeguard that the occupancy of the pool area is limited and the only way to do this is with reservations. This has not negatively impacted many guests, but again, I am sorry you felt this was a challenge. Occupancy levels in most area are not to a point yet to support room service which is why most hotels are not offering it yet. However, we know that some do want to dine in their room which is why we offer the app to order and it is ready to be picked up. I am sorry that your room was dusty as that should never happen. Unfortunately, I am unable to identify your reservation, but hope you will reach out to me so I can do so. We'd love to follow up on this with the housekeeper. It is nice to read that you found the complimentary parking to your liking. Thank you again for your review and for staying with us. I am sorry we let you down.
