We are Utahns and for 10 years have stayed in Moab for the Winter Sun 10k. The past 3 years we have stayed at the Kokopelli West cabins and loved our experience. This year the property has apparently been sold and under new ownership, and our experience could not have been worse. I don't often write reviews, but feel compelled to warn anyone that might be considering this property for their stay. First, our group as with past years rented all of the cabins. Upon check in we realized half of the units had non-working heaters. Several calls to the management/owner went unanswered and only after an evening of us researching on the internet did we realize that none of the filters had been cleaned in months causing the units to overheat and shut down. The filters were disgusting and once removed the heat worked again. 2 of the units had lights hanging off the walls with exposed 110v wiring. Very unsafe, especially for those of us that had kids in our rooms. There was no response from management/ownership to fix this. In both our unit and several others the sinks were clogged not allowing any water to drain. Multiple calls to the management/ownership went unanswered and we never did get them fixed. We were forced to use the shower and kitchen sink for brushing teeth and washing our hands. One of the kids in our group had an accident, and we requested access to the laundry or to have the bedding replaced. 3 days later the soiled bedding remained outside our room even after multiple calls and texts to the management. Bath mats and rugs were old and unwashed. Several of the units including ours smelled of urine, and we had to hang the rugs outside the units to get rid of the odor. Others were covered in stains and toothpaste. Lastly, the coffee makers were all missing, and we were told in a text message that this was done for 'safely reasons'. None were ever delivered per our request. This seems like a small complaint, but as someone who travels many nights a year I expect a coffee maker if the room is advertised with one (as this one was). It's even shown in the photos. To add insult to injury, the new name brand hotel within eyesight of this had rooms for half the price during our weekend. We nearly packed up and walked across the street but couldn't afford the charge of another room. So far we have not heard any resolution from the management/ownership, nor have they responded to a request for any kind of refund. While we plan on taking this up with our credit card company, I would urge any prospective customers to look elsewhere when booking in Moab. There are a lot of great properties in this town and while this used to be one of them, that time has passed. Buyer beware.

ok only give this a poor rating because the bed was not comply and the shower had no pressure.... Also, i had trouble finding the place but when i did all was great - location to restaurants and main street awesome but... turns out I was at the wrong Kokopelli lodge (google?) but when I arrived my passcode for the lock worked... so I am all settled in and after two nights a management type stopped me and said i was in the wrong Kokopelli Lodge...what? So still I am still confused about the address because the picture above shows the one I originally went to and settled in but apparently I was mistaken. I was asked to move because I was in the wrong location... and someone else was coming that night for my room... I packed up hurriedly and found the other Kokopelli Lodge and guess what - my passcode worked there also. Same passcode and same room number at both locations!!! Poor management or I was had??? The new one I was moved to had ants and plumbing problems but the bed was more comfy and the water pressure much better. Also loved the intimacy and the parking and the hot tub much nicer - wouldn't take much to improve on this one. Concerned about renting again with Vacasa because of the mix up with no apologies or compensation and both places had dirt under the beds...

This is the worst motel experience I have had. No management no service no number to call. 72 hours notification to check out early but I tried for 3 days and could not getanyone to answer. Also they took my balance after my deposit before I checked out I had to leave early so I am out about $400.00 . Room rates are comparible to first rate motels but rooms are very dated carpet is dirty room was full of ants Would never recommend this motel to anyone

I had a good stay at the Kokopelli 100 West cabins (I was in cabin 6) and I would recommend it (especially for people traveling with pets), but Kokopelli Lodgings could make it an even better stay by attending to a few details and service issues. First the good: The location is excellent. Super convenient to the part of town with good restaurants and shops - you can quickly drive the block or two or walk over if you like; I did both. The neighborhood is nice and quiet - the only noise you might hear is from the other 100 West guests. The cabin was super cute inside, with bright colors and enough space to be comfortable. There were also chairs and tables outside if you wanted to take your meal al fresco. The AC worked great, though I barely needed it since the cabin seemed pretty well insulated and the temperatures drop overnight. Good shower, comfortable bed, fridge worked well. I love that they accept pets. The hot tub was a nice touch, especially for folks with sore hiking muscles! The not so great: Within two minutes of our arrival, my dog had found (and brought to me) a piece of popcorn and a broken potato chip from somewhere on the floor of the cabin. I looked under the bed to try to figure out where he was getting the bits of food and saw that there were significant dust bunnies under there, so it seems my cabin floor had not had a thorough cleaning in a while. I had a few requests or questions for the management before and during my stay; some of those were promptly answered and others I had to call or email multiple times after waiting a day for a response. The cabin had many things you'd want stocked (bowls, cups, etc.) but also lacked some really common items, like scissors and a roll of paper towels, that could easily be added to improve the experience. The mat outside the shower was thoroughly wet when I arrived and never dried out during a 4 night stay. I also noticed that if I tracked a bit of water in from the hot tub, it stayed puddled on the ground in the cabin too (hence the need for paper towels). It was weird to be in the desert and not have things dry in the cabin, but maybe they should use a different kind of bath mat that dries more easily. The trash and recycling cans in the cabin were not lined, which made throwing away any messy trash impossible without getting the can messy. And lastly, the instructions for checking out said to take all of your trash and recycling to the curbside bins in the parking lot. I had already taken a good bit of recycling and trash out over four days, since the cans in the room were tiny, but it seemed like an imposition to ask guests to take ALL of their trash and recycling out before they left. Particularly when my room had not been cleaned or tidied during the four days I was there - it seemed they only service the rooms between guests, not daily. Fine, but then don't ask me to help clean the room on my way out. And maybe Kokopelli cannot control this, if it's a municipal issue, but the trash and recycling bins in the parking lot (which were sizable) were full and overflowing for the duration of my stay, which was kind of unappealing. That all said, I think these are issues they could easily address. I had asked them to call me on the day I checked out so I could pass these issues along, but no one did. Which may be indicative of the underlying problem - either poor staffing or a lack of attention to detail and service. I also passed these issues along in a survey they sent me a week or so after my stay, but I didn't hear from them in response to that either. I would consider staying there again, and I definitely would if these little things improved!

This review is for the Kokopelli Inn Towner at 53 E. North 100 St, not to be confused with some of the other Kokopelli lodgings. There are 4 colorful one story adjoining units here. There is a grill and hot tub for the occupants, patio furniture for each unit, and it’s a nice quiet place. Our unit had a separate bedroom with 3 beds, one king and two twins, all quite comfortable. They are a dog friendly place too! They have a full kitchen with dishes, utensils, etc, everything you need, as well as a living room with plenty of seating and cable TV. The accommodations are very clean and comfortable. We liked the location near Main and Center Streets—an easy walk to the busy part of downtown where there are lots of nice shops and restaurants. I like that this town has a small town feel where people are friendly and most of the establishments are locally owned. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay, check it out!
