Detailed Reviews
My husband and I stayed in the Vista Cabin with our two dogs. Open and spacious living area, well stocked kitchen and bathroom, beautiful views, quiet and serene location. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the cabin was and how well stocked it was from shampoo/conditioner in the shower to condiments in the refrigerator. We were able to take the dogs out of the sliding glass door to throw the ball for the dogs. They loved it and enjoyed hanging out with Ellie, the owners female dog. She is so sweet. We also enjoyed a long conversation with Beth the owner. We will definitely be back next year.

Not a single complaint or issue. From the views to the set up of the cabin, it couldn’t have been better. You feel secluded and all alone-Peaceful and relaxing to sit on the 360 degree view porch and watch the rain come by in the evenings. Every single thing we needed was available-toiletries, cleaning supplies (for ATVs, bikes, etc), laundry, and kitchen stuff. Owners were very kind and available any time we needed them. Our dogs roamed around and had the time of their life in the open fields (even playing w/ her very friendly dog). Plenty of hiking, ATV riding, lake, etc around the cabin. You feel like you’re a million miles away but still close enough to town and activities. We are looking forward to coming back again to stay in one of the larger cabins w/ all the kids!

We rented both Pioneer 1 and 2 for a family trip in the Moab area. The cabins were clean and well stocked for us with plenty of room inside and out. Beautiful views all around and a peaceful setting just minutes outside of town. And If you like hummingbirds you will LOVE this place - they have feeders on the front steps and they are constantly being visited by many at a time (Pioneer 2 has the best activity of the two but both very busy!). Visited Arches National Park and did a Jeep rental while there. Lots more to do if we had the time!

I took my husband to Moab for his 40th b-day and we satyed at Morris' Last Resort. We stayed from Feb 27th -March 3rd in the sunrise cabin. When we pulled in we could NOT believe it was right on the MAIN freeway!!!!! On the web it looks secluded well it is NOT!!! It is false advertising. All night long you can hear the semi's going by because you are literally a few feet off the highway. The log cabin had a ton of water damaged and was moldy and I am allergic to mold so it was awful. It smells like wet dog because animals are able to going the families but that wasn't that bad and animal lovers will have no problem. We never met the owners and the place has been up for sale for about 2 years. All the complaints that were in the guest book in the cabin have never been addressed. People wrote in the book that they should have more then 1 wash cloth to do the dishes. I only found 1. People have mentioned over the years having a small stereo in the cabin, they still did not have one. I don't know why they bothered even putting out a book for their guests to write in when they don't seem to even read the suggestions placed in it. We did drive to their sunset cabins which were amazing and NOT on the freeway. They are way out (the way it looks on the web) and wished I had stayed there. I would recommend the pioneer 1 and 2 cabins but saty away from all the others because you will be dissapointed.

We stayed at Morris’ Last Resort in Moab last week while we spent time exploring the local National and State parks (Arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point, etc). The resort is located approximately 8 miles/11 minutes South from the center of Moab, and is located just off Highway 191. Morris’ operates several different facilities in Moab. We stayed in their South West Creekside cabins at their Valley location; they also operate a Mountain location.
You’ll feel like you’ve missed the Valley facility as the location is right on the outskirts of Moab, but Morris’ Last Resort is well signposted. The resort is accessed via a small gravel road just off the main highway. Approximately 20 feet from the main highway is the office, and two other small cabins, plus the Sunrise cabin that appears to be much larger than the others. Each of the main road-side cabins had parking in front, and appeared to have a fenced-in patio area behind them. Further back and about 100 feet from the highway are three other cabins of a similar size, each with their own parking spot. Each cabin had a patio area out back, but these were not fenced in and were in sight of patios for the other cabins and homes in the area. Each cabin had its own barbeque grill and patio table; we were surprised to find charcoal, lighter fluid and matches were provided – a really thoughtful touch by the management.
The cabins are of an adobe-style built and have a small front stoop by the front door. I noted that the front and rear doors didn’t have deadbolts, only keyed entry door knobs. I’m not sure what the crime is like in Moab and perhaps I’m being a paranoid big City dweller, but I’ve have felt a bit more comfortable with my belongings behind a decent lock. Similarly, our key was waiting for us in an envelope on the office door and we checked-out the same way. I’d prefer a slightly more interactive check-in/check-out process just to give some peace of mind; had the cabin been vandalized after our departure we’d have had no come-back because there was no defined check-out process.
Entering our cabin (cabin 6, furthest from the road) brought us in to the main living area. There was an air conditioning unit under the window and a futon-style sofa, with leather chair, that faced a flat screen TV and satellite receiver for Dish network. Wi-Fi was also available. The open-style kitchen was off to one side and allowed for easy conversation while cooking. The kitchen was adequate. There is a small two burner stove, a small sink, microwave, coffee maker and fridge/freezer. All dishware was included, as were kitchen and bath towels.
The cabin was decorated nicely, in a South Western style. We found the cabin to be clean, although we did note that there was a slight chemical smell in the cabin. The cabin is pet friendly so this may be residual from a previous cleaning? We opened the front window (which has bug screen on it) and the rear door and aired it out whenever possible, but the smell did tend to be noticeable when coming back from a day out. It would have been nice to have a screen on the rear door as this would have allowed for air flow without insects/flies coming in to the cabin.
The kitchen/bathroom operates from a 15-gallon hot water tank, and for the two of us we found this to be more than adequate (we tend to take navy showers) but if you like long showers after a day out be aware that the hot water isn’t limitless and you’ll need to wait for it to fill up and re-heat. There is a notice to this effect posted on the fridge.
The living/kitchen area leads in to the bedroom, and the bathroom area is just off that. The bed was comfortable and had fresh linens. The bathroom was very clean (other than the inside of the vent fan which was dusty, and a little peeling paint on the ceiling over the bath) and came with towels and the normal toiletries. There was no bedding provided for the futon but this didn’t bother us enough to call the owners to request it. The futon was more comfortable than others we’d slept on, but the middle bar could still be felt however sleeping to one side or the other provided a decent-enough nights sleep.
The air conditioner worked fine when we turned it on and made the living area quite chilly, but as it wasn’t central air it was hard to get the cold air to reach back in to the bedroom area. We ended up pointing a small fan (provided) towards the bedroom to direct the airflow a bit more. It helped, but wasn’t ideal.
There was mention of a clean-up bucket/sponger for washing vehicles but we couldn’t find it.
The owners clearly provided the number for the office on the fridge and said that if you called and couldn’t reach them they could be paged (pager number provided) with a callback number and they’d immediately return the call. We never felt the need to made use of this.
The cabins are in a small green area between a dry creek bed and a trucking company and we found our cabin to be quite pleasant. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the family of bunnies hopping around eating – they were clearly quite used to humans. Others have complained about traffic noise and we never found this to be overbearing, but we were staying in the furthest cabin from the road and sleep with ear plugs. However, I have to imagine that Morris’ Last Resort is quieter than the hotels in Moab. Driving through the town we were following large semis, stopping at traffic light after traffic light with air brakes coming on and off, plus the countless ATVs buzzing through town and found it to be very noisy. For the price, I think getting a small slice of pleasantness that’s a bit different to the vanilla hotels is worth it. I’d certainly stay at Morris’ again.

We primarily chose Morris' Last Resort because it was one of the few places in town that does not charge an outrageous sum to stay there. Next in line was our ability to cook our own food. This place fit both requirements, and we were nervous staying at a place we had never seen or stayed at before in Moab. When we pulled up to Southwest cabin #2, it didn't look too impressive. In fact, if I had seen this place off the side of the road, I never would have stayed here judging a book by it's cover. Well, let me tell you. The inside of these homely-looking cabins definitely make up for the outside. The inside décor was decorated in a tasteful southwest theme, the bed was comfortable (not hard as a rock as most places are!) and everything was clean. A good thing was the kitchenette was fully stocked with dishes and pans. No need to bring your own dishes from home! Another plus was cabin#2 had it's own private fenced deck in the back. This was perfect to have because we had our dog with us. Not only that, my brother enjoyed sleeping out on the private deck beneath the stars. Also, the cabin came with a flat screen TV with HD programming. Definitely a plus! Cabin#2 also comes with a two burner cooktop, which is not shown in the photos. The only downside to this place is the website advertises grills and picnic tables. Cabin #2 does not have a grill or picnic table. It is located on the grounds of the cabin next door, and we didn't want to go intrude on that piece of property to grill our burgers. Also, the photos for the Southwest cabins show a fridge with a freezer compartment. Our cabin did not have that. It was only a fridge, so we could not refreeze our ice packs for our cooler we took with us to Arches for lunch every day. Also, some reviewers complained of the highway noise from these cabins. It is true, you will hear semi trucks all night long, but what place in Moab is not off the main highway? We found if we kept the AC or fan running, in drowned out most of the highway noise. We will definitely be coming back to Morris' Last Resort because this place met most of our needs quite well, and it is more "affordable" for Moab.

If you want a busy busy place to stay...don't stay here. St Dane's is on the outskirts of Moab. A REALLY nice place to rest your tired body. These cabins are super nice and very well equipped with all of the cookware, etc. that you might need. Sean and Nancy are very accommodating and down to earth folks. This will be our go to place to stay the next time we visit Moab! (We stayed in Slick Rock Cabin #6) Thank you for making our visit even better!

We rented Pioneer Cabin 2 for a week while we explored Moab. This was a great choice seeing that the initial reason for this trip was to get off the beaten path. Just so others know this cabin in UP in the mountains, so make any stops to the store before going up as you will be 15 minutes from the nearest store. The cabin is well furnish and comfortable, the well equipped kitchen and washer and dryer are a plus. The view is SPECTACULAR!!!! We loved sitting outside enjoying the mountain and watching our son play also you can see so many stars and the Milky Way at night which is breathtaking. Pretty close to all the parks. We also enjoyed being close to Ken's Lake, beautiful spot to just so sit and enjoy as well. If I had one compliant it would be the coffee pot could use an update other than that I would recommend this place and we will definitely stay here again!

We rented the Vista Cabin for 4 days the last week of August 2015. It is an absolutely beautiful location! Tucked into the LaSal Mountains with breathtaking views of the canyons to the west and the mountains behind you. AMAZING sunsets and gorgeous sunrises. The cabin is super clean, modern and comfortable. We loved our covered porch and enjoyed spending time out there! It really was a fabulous stay, we can't wait until we can get back there. It was so peaceful and relaxing, just a wonderful get-away!! Thank you Morris' Last Resort! We will be back soon!

We loved this log cabin off the side of the road, well marked and about 7 miles outside of Moab. Easily accessible to the Arches and Canyonlands and other scenic views. The La Sal mountains in the background are beautiful and ever changing with the weather. The cabin is well appointed and decorated in a lovely Southwest style. Everything was clean and functional. The bedroom is in a loft upstairs. There are at least 10 wood steps with sturdy handrails extending into the living area. The bathroom is a downstairs shower/tub with shampoo, hairdryer and iron available. Wifi is slow but works. Very nice accomodations!

In summer, driving an RV to the mountain cabins is doable. You may want to consider renting a full size SUV for the 6 of you while in Moab, for ease of travel.
We did not have one in the unit that we stayed in.
The Sunrise cabin we stayed in would probably be crowded with 5 kids also the bedroom is up in the loft I think the sofa downstairs might have converted into a bed but I'm not sure. I don't know about any of the other cabins but you could call the owner- she was very nice and helpful.
