We are not a camping family, so Under Canvas was just "roughing it" enough for our needs. Furnishings were comfortable, the water in our en-suite bathroom was hot, all of which was appreciated during a weekend of cold temperatures and inclement weather. The camp had excellent proximity to the entrances of both Canyonlands and Arches. However, Under Canvas is just missing those simple extra touches that could truly elevate the glamping experience. For example, a few hooks for wet towels and/or a clothes rack or small wardrobe would be very welcome in the tent so bags could be semi-unpacked. There are s'mores available every night and there was a "rock talk" one evening, but that was essentially it as far as activities during our stay. I was pretty surprised at the lack of camp programming - no yoga, kids activities, or any other in-house happenings that would entice you back to spend time at camp. We had an outside excursion booked which was cancelled due to rain and cold, and had tried to book another in advance, which wasn't available, despite showing so on the Adventures booking site. So instead, we spent our down time in town, returning to camp only to crash for the night. Guest service was nice but could use refinement. Not once during our stay were we greeted by name, not even upon check-in. Staff wear name tags, but no one ever introduced themselves. Certainly not terrible flaws, but ones that did detract from the purported "luxury" of the stay. Staff were responsive and helpful when accessed via text. All in all, we had a pleasant stay, glad we experienced the novelty of a glamping weekend, but probably wouldn't turn to Under Canvas again for similar trips.…
I'm not super into "roughing" it, but this is as comfortable as camping can get! We got a deluxe tent so that we had our own toilet and shower, and it was way better than I expected. The bed was very comfortable, and there were sufficient blankets for the chilly October nights. However, what really made the experience spectacular was the entire Under Canvas team. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and had such positive attitudes! The whole team seemed happy to be there which made the experience even more enjoyable. Also, they provided a lot of complimentary snacks, drinks, and evening entertainment so you didn't feel like you were getting nickel and dimed. You can't beat free s'mores. We had one small issue with our tent, but it was addressed quickly and efficiently. This was truly a memorable experience!…
This was such a beautiful place to stay! My husband and I spent a week in Moab, Utah to explore the Canyonlands & Arches National park for my birthday. We did a bunch of hiking, we went skydiving, took a helicopter tour over the parks, explored the town, did some shopping, and Under the Canvas was the perfect place to disconnect from the "crowds" and recharge at the end of our busy days! The location was perfect for all activities close to town, close to the airport, close to the parks, yet far enough away to feel like you are in a remote location. Witylittke "light pollution", the night sky was full of stars and morning sunrise was so picturesque! I love listening to live music while sitting around the campfire, so I was very excited that they had a few different local artists that performed for us while we sat by the fire roasting s'mores that they also provided! The staff was beyond accomadating, my husband emailed them ahead of time to have flowers delivered to our tent while we were out for the day for my birthday ... And the staff did a great job of making it extra special! They were all so friendly and welcoming the entire week we were there! I truly can't say one bad thing about my experience with Under the Canvas Moab,Utah ... I can't wait to go back!…
Only stayed 1 night but really enjoyed the atmosphere and s'mores! Bathrooms were clean and kept warm (perfect for us, as we got up for a sunrise hike at Arches and it was pretty chilly early in the morning--side note, the stars are gorgeous here with so little light pollution, esp early morning). Also appreciated the battery packs to charge our phones!
We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed a week. The set-up is designed to be light touch but everything you need. Reception is open 24 hours and has meal options oncluding to heat in the microwave, free muffins and fruit for breakfast (but other choices available) tea and coffee and chilled water. Campfires in the evening. And the tent (and especially the bed!) so comfortable. But the best is the stunning desert setting and the sunsets and sunrises.
I'm not a "roughing it" kind of person, and Under Canvas Moab was the perfect choice for me. Absolutely a 5-star experience the entire stay. I think the staff must be trained to never say "no", because they never did. We had the stargazer tent, and it was just beautiful: every amenity you could want in a roomy, well-appointed tent with a fantastic view, both outside the tent and from your pillow where you could see the Milky Way while lying on the bed through the stargazer clear panel. The community area was very warm and inviting, and we had musical entertainment each night, which was a great treat, as were the s'mores. I highly recommend Under Canvas and I plan to visit their other locations in the future. Terrific stay!
Imagine a 5 star experience in a tent? Yes, Under the Canvas at Moab UT did just that. Comfort, location and amenities were spot on. S’mores by the fire and live music each night were unexpected bonuses. Their staff is very helpful and friendly. And I’m excited to hear they have other locations too. I will definitely be a return customer!
This company does a super job of setting up a “camping” experience for those not ready to give up all of the luxuries. An en suite hot shower, sink and toilet, a king sized bed and a wood burning stove wasn’t exactly roughing it! The tent was immaculate and the staff was friendly, helpful and informative. A special shout out to general manager, Jess, who went above and beyond to accommodate us. Be prepared for battery powered lanterns if you like to read in bed and the camp isn’t too far off a busy highway so road noise was an issue. But the view is great and the stars were spectacular.
Loved our stay and celebrating our friends at this unique location!!! Glamping was a new experience for us! We loved stepping out of our comfort zone! The views were amazing and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating!!
The service and facilities are fantastic and well deserving of five starts but unfortunately the site is adjacent to a very highly traveled route utilized by large semi trucks that generate a lot of noise. It was difficult to enjoy the scenery and very difficult to sleep. The facility must know this since they provide ear plugs in every tent.
