Appomattox is a major place in American history, yet today there is little here except the historic location of the surrender of Gen. Lee. If you're going to visit Appomattox this is the place to say. It is clean, reasonably priced, and convenient. We only stayed one night but it was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff is helpful. It is less than 5 minutes from the historic sites.
For the price, this is an amazing deal. The room is big and very clean. Well kept place with lots of extras. Great service at the front desk. Hotel is really close to the Museum, the McLean House and the little Confederate Cemetery. Restaurants are also close by. Would recommend to anyone visiting Appomattox.
Appomattox Inn & Suites was a fantastic stay on a Saturday night after a day of touring. The location was easy to find as very close to the Court House National Site. This Inn was extremely clean, welcoming, and just well organized. The room was clean, with good bed and pillows, and the AC worked very well on the hot evening. The bathroom...great shower that really worked for tall people! I liked the sliding "barn style" door as it made room seem even larger. Additionally, there is a small bar in the lobby with appetizers available if so desired at reasonable prices. Inn has a nice pool, also, and is outside. Breakfast was sufficient and served by a very hospitable and friendly woman on the Sunday morning. She kept everything stocked, cleaned, and truly cared about the quality and presentation of the area! We were very, very pleased with this stay, and would definitely frequent again if in the area…
We had no idea what to expect upon booking, but were we surprised and delighted! Just a few miles from the Appomattox Courthouse and McLean House, this is a noticeably nice hotel, privately owned by local residents who know what they are doing! The rooms are well appointed, large, quiet, and very clean in an attractive brick building with plenty of free parking. Amazingly we were provided the best complimentary breakfast we HAVE EVER HAD, prepared by BETTY, out of the hundreds of other well known hotels we ever have visited--in every one of the chains! One of those unexpected delights!
We stopped just before a severe thunderstorm on our bikes. They let us put the bikes under the entrance to get them out of the weather. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was great also.
Our experience here was top notch. The front desk staff were friendly and informative. Our king room was HUGE, clean and smelled very nice. Very close to the historic sites. The pool was clean but not many lounge chairs. Breakfast was well stocked even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing time. Go into town and try Granny Bee's- it's a local favorite- we liked it too.
I found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable and economical. The lobby had some nods to the Civil War as do the hotel rooms which are decorated with pictures from the nearby battlefield and grounds. The hotel has a bar area that was open till 10pm for drinks and a restaurant named Cannonball for appetizers and small bites. If you’re into history or Civil War sites this hotel is perfect because it is very close to the Appomattox battlefield and Appomattox Courthouse village where the American Civil War came to an end in April of 1865. The American Civil War museum is a close by area attraction to this hotel as well. If you’re unfamiliar with the American Civil War or what the area has to offer the hotel staff are very friendly and the hotel has available maps and information on local attractions.…
We found this hotel to be clean and well maintained. We were greeted at checkin by a friendly helpful receptionist who suggested a restaurant in town that was excellent (Grannie Bee’s). Breakfast was standard fare, but well prepared. The breakfast attendant was friendly and cheerful even as she helped clean up the OJ we spilled. Housekeeping was also friendly. (I only wish I would have gotten their names!) We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Excellent hospitality, attentive staff, felt safe, spacious lobby with complimentary coffee bar, breakfast buffet was amazing, pool and fitness room were clean, everything was easily accessible and in good working order, Queen suite was so beautiful, clean and comfortable. We had such an enjoyable stay, wish we’d had more time to spend a couple more days!
Very friendly staff from Karen and the young man at the front desk during check in to the breakfast host. Rooms were so clean and comfortable. The location was within minutes to the Courthouse National Park Would definitely stay here again!
