We booked a two night stay at Lily Garden as part of a road trip revisiting some of the areas we had enjoyed several years ago. We walked into Lily Garden, took one look around and called to see if we could add a 3rd night. It was really that nice.

They have made some obvious accommodations to the Covid 19 situation, eliminating the breakfast, but providing a generous shopoing list of items you can prepare yourself in the well appointed suite.

One option was a quiche prepared by Owner/InnKeeper Shawn with your choice of ingredients. A great choice and totally delicious! With the microwave, it was quick work to heat it up, pair with some fruit and bagels and enjoy.

Off street parking was another plus!

Harpers Ferry itself was very enjoyable. Most shops were open. A few restaurants were not but we found some great dining right in town at the Rabbit Hole (incredible crab cakes) and went back for three meals.

The National Park sites were all closed, but you can see a great deal just walking around and the grounds themselves were open. We walked across the river and hiked a bit on the Canal tow path. Lots of old memories!

We also enjoyed the many trains passing through town !

Highly recommend a trip to Harpers Ferry and a stay at Lily Garden.

My wife and I stayed in the smaller, downstairs "Trundle Suite" for a long weekend in Harpers Ferry. The property is just outside of town, just under a 10 minute walk. Breakfast for the weekend was provided in our refrigerator when we arrived - the menu was tailored to our requests the week before we stayed. We enjoyed the flexibility of serving ourselves breakfast and all the food was good. Behind the building is an open yard with a swing and firepit to enjoy along with other guests. The room is small but comfortable and was a great weekend spot. There isn't too much storage in the room so it may not work as well for a longer stay.

Great little spot! The bed and breakfast is a great walking distance from the national park and the town. Note it is a significant hill but it was manageable for us. The staff were friendly and the accommodations were well done. We stayed in the Carriage suite which has a second bed up on a loft. Breakfast is provided so you can explore on your own schedule and we appreciated the AC since it was 90 degrees outside when we stayed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to visit!

Lily Garden’s upper apartment is truly lovely and welcoming, and the setting is gorgeous. (Loved hearing the occasional frog in the lily pond!) The breakfast provided is generous and it’s nice to be able to eat whenever you choose. It’s clean and comfortable, although I will say that if you have someone in the loft they will need to be nimble; coming down that straight ladder isn’t for the slightly creaky among us. The bed up there is large, though, as is the one in the downstairs main bedroom. Storer college campus is right down the road (nice walk to the historic site of civil rights) and it’s an easy, but a bit farther, downhill walk to the lower town and all of its attractions as well as to the train station.

Harper’s Ferry is lovely, and Lily Garden has the perfect atmosphere for immersing in the town.

This is a nice place located about 20 minutes walk down a long hill from the centre of town by the river. They have 2 units -upstairs and downstairs -with separate entries located near the back of their property on a side street. While it was fairly quiet there , I would hear the train going by and the occasional car at night. I would expect that one would hear the folks upstairs if you were downstairs as well. I stayed in the Trundle suite which is the lower portion. It was small with little storage space for clothes but comfortable . The bed was good and the shower water hot and plentiful. The hosts were very pleasant to deal with. Breakfast which you ordered in advance and stored in your fridge , etc. had good choice. The kitchen was well stocked and had all but a stove.
I would stay here again.

We enjoyed two nights in the Trundle Suite. The rooms are compact and have everything you need. Very comfy bed, clean, eclectic furniture. Great idea to provide breakfast ingredients, very generous portions too. The backyard with the lily pond is very pretty and a calming place to sit, there's a sweet garden swing. Lilies, lotus flowers, a fountain. Very very lovely.

I love this B&B! It was cozy, comfortable, and I felt right at home the minute I walked in. There was so much to do in the vicinity I stayed an extra 2 nights. I love being so close to the Appalachian Trail. Owners were extremely kind and accommodating...one of the best Christmas vacations I ever had!

Wow. What can I say about this place? We tried to stay at the house that The Ledge has because they accept dogs there but it was booked. However they recommended we call Camp Hill because she said they would take dogs also. I am so glad that the other place was booked!

The carriage suite is a nice place to stay...unlike most B&B's and certainly most hotel rooms, it is decorated to the hilt. I'd say the decor is a cross between Calico Corners and Colonial with a touch of Frank Lloyd Wright, which may not be everyone's cup of tea and yet I liked it just because there was so much to look at...teddy bears, Civil War memorabilia/photos, a train I didn't even notice until I printed my pictures, twinkling lamps everywhere, comforters, flags, florals, multicoloured glass bottles in the windows that picked up the morning sun. When we arrived there was even a wax potpourri burning to welcome us. As there is a bedroom and a kitchenette there are all the things necessary to make an extended stay - ironing board, microwave, stove, fridge, coffeemaker, teapot, pots and pans, Franciscan English china, oven mitts, etc. Coffee, creamers, teas, sugar, salts and peppers provided. Also, a hair dryer (I lugged mine, so that would've been good to know). Color high def t.v. with cable. Good mattress. Ultra-soft bath towels and plenty of them, even the toilet paper was noticeably softer than my brand! Everything was so clean I was amazed, as I can't keep my knickknacks that dust-free at home. Double windows overlook side street, backyard, church steeple and Blue Ridge Mountains. Very quiet. Only sounds distant train whistle and birds singing.

The food? Breakfasts are great, and there is plenty to chow down on. We tried the chipped beef, the omelette and the waffles (if we'd been one more day we would've tried the pancakes, surely!). everything was wonderful. Tony brings it at your desired time on a big tray on a heated platter. Bowl of fresh fruit (kiwi, orange, berries, cherries etc.) with granola and coconut daily, and small bottle of OJ. Bacon I will dream about.

Whirlpool tub is nice. I noted some of the hot water comments here. The only trouble is if you are trying to wash dishes (as I was) while someone is in shower/tub, or if you try to fill tub up twice for two baths one right after the other.

I noticed a couple of board games, sidewalk chalk in a kitchen drawer, and there are playing cards. Also, books and magazines.

I could have stayed at the Comfort Inn down the hill, or the Quality Inn out of town, and had the dogs. I would have had to pay extra for the dogs, probably per diem, which would have ended up costing the same or more, and not had the ambience, the space, the amenities or the good cooking. All I didn't get were a little bottle of shampoo and maid service every day (which I prefer not to have on an extended visit when I decided to cook, etc.)

I can't recommend this place highly enough.

I'll end this well but feel I should start with the warning. The Camp Hill website describes it's suite and gives a price and it is probably what they say it is IF you get the suite on the website. Not listed on the website or even on the brouchure in the room is the second room that has been added on. It is below the main suite but half the size. No living room, no loft, no whirlpool tub (shower only), no view... I think you get the idea. Here's the kicker, I was charged the same price as the suite upstairs as I agreed to the price on the phone not knowing there was a small second room. My wife and I were very dissapointed.
That out of the way, the room was very clean, everything worked, breakfast was good, and the location was OK.

This was one of our favorite stops on our bike trip from Pittsburgh to Washington DC on the GAP and C & O trails. The garden was a magical place to recover from the days ride and to enjoy breakfast in. Owners are warm and welcoming, offer great food and have good advice on attractions and dining in the local area. Comfy and clean accommodations.
