We chose the Jacob Rohrbach Inn to stay the night after visiting Antietam and Shephardstowm after viewing Trip Advisor recommendations. Our room was large, well furnished, and spotless. Our innkeepers were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Inn has a perfect location to visit history-rich sites for the civil war, enjoy biking, hiking, and river activities, and take avantage of the...

I seldom write reviews but this place gets top marks - five stars in every category Had a lovely evening and night's stay at the Jacob Rohrbach in Sharpsburg after a busy day's sightseeing at Antietam and Harper's Ferry for which this place is perfectly situated. There's a good bar/restaurant just 200 yards away and a fantastic ice-cream parlour where...

I always stay at this place whenever I am traveling from NC to NY. It is always about halfway for me, and honestly I absolutely love staying here. Joanne is lovely and always helpful. Not to mention her breakfast is amazing! The rooms are older in style, because they are historical recreations. However they are always clean and comfortable. The...

We stayed in the Jackson Room which is very spacious and comfortable and having the separate entrance with a private patio was a plus. Joanne's breakfasts were wonderful and her knowledge of the area and helpful hints of where to go and what to do "behind the scenes" were extremely helpful.

I would recommend staying here if you are in this area. We stayed in the General's Quarter's room, which is in a separate building from the main house. It was so private and comfortable. Joanne was so friendly and helpful and generous. The breakfast was delicious and she shared her receipes with us.

The Jacob Rohrbach Inn is an absolute delight and a historic treasure. Our accommodations in the Captain's Quarters (originally the summer kitchen of the house) were superb, clean and ever so comfortable. Joanne and Paul were so warm, friendly and could not do enough to make us feel welcome. They are also both excellent historians and very knowledgeable about the...

We stayed one night in the Antietam room in late April. The room was an excellent size, the bed very comfortable, the wifi access welcome and Joanne's breakfast very tasty. We should have followed Joanne's recommedation for dining in Shepperdstown as the local venue was indifferent. I would recommend this B&B if you are in the area.
