Beautiful inn with very comfortable rooms. Great location and delicious breakfast. Very friendly inn keepers and the bed sheets were awesome. Antietam room was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the porch and view from outside our room. We will definitely come back.

Lovely little inn. Our room was so quiet, in the back of the house and up the outside stairs (so not good for people with trouble walking or while raining), modern, clean basic bathroom, very comfortable king size bed and pillows, not so comfortable chairs for watching TV. Breakfast was good; everyone gets the same meal (except for choice of juices) unless you need a sub for or don't want sausage. Refreshments of coffee and tea, pretzels, and crackers always available during the day; afternoon brings fresh baked cookies and/or brownies. The town is okay, nothing much except 5 min to Antietam; there is a decent restaurant/pub a few blocks down the street and an ice cream store people rave about. Its worth driving into Shepherdstown for dinner, which has a lovely downtown and more than 1 restaurant (although not many off season early in the week).

Room Tip: See my comment above. In the back is quieter due to street noise; some rooms require stairs.

The only problem with our stay was that it was too short. Chris and Amy were perfect hosts. The room was lovely. We were very comfortable and relaxed. Breakfast was a fantastic start to the day. Visiting the Antietam battlefield was the focus of our trip. We walked the battlefields and forest trails once occupied by soldiers. Awe inspiring A highlight for me was totally unexpected. The inn was decorated for Halloween. One evening, a bonfire was laid behind the inn. A local historian told ghost stories about the town and battlefield. I was thrilled.

We’ve stayed at the Inn a couple of times and have not been disappointed either time. It’s clean and inviting. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are soft, which is nice after a long day of sight seeing. Each morning we enjoyed a filling breakfast which was the best meal of the day. I was sad one morning when I realized we had to miss breakfast because of travel time to another destination but Chris and Amy had a grab and go breakfast ready for us. We also had a battlefield tour with Chris (for the second time) , he is very knowledgeable and when he found out I had family that fought at Antietam, he found regimental information and maps of their location on the battlefield for me. Chris and Amy make it feel like you’re staying with friends.
