The Antietam Room was spacious and clean. Lovely porch outside of our room. The breakfasts were original and delicious. Chris & Amy, the owners, were the perfect hosts. So knowledgeable about the history of the area. Cute gift shop downstairs. Will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed another 3-night stay at the Inn as part of a longer trip. Amy and Chris do a wonderful job of making everyone's stay the best it can be. No detail is too small. The breakfast entrées are varied and always superb!!!! The new patio is a wonderful place to sit and relax, and the grounds are always impeccable. We look forward to a return in June in order to attend the Civil War Lecture Series.

The Inn reflects the period with the amenities of today. We loved the Jackson Room...very comfortable bed, wonderful rain shower, direct outside access to a sunny patio! Breakfast was fresh and very tasty! Amy and Chris are wonderful hosts arranging for a phenomenal tour guide of the Antietam battlefield. We highly recommend you stay with them on your tour.

If you are going to visit Antietam and Harper's Ferry, there is probably no better place to stay than in this historic early 19th Century inn, a B&B run by the welcoming Amy and Chris. We had a neatly appointed little cottage to ourselves with a comfortable four-poster king size bed, a well functioning bathroom, and a porch with rocking chairs. Each morning we were greeted with coffee, fresh fruit, freshly baked scones, and pancakes or an egg souffle in the dining room. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Chris is an Antietam guide and Civil War buff with helpful tips about the battlefield and neighboring sites. And you're just a short drive from the great National Historical Park at Harper's Ferry, too.

This is a fabulous inn — a perfect base camp for for touring the battlefields, riding along the C&O Canal and enjoying the scenic views. Chris and Amy are perfect hosts: knowledgeable and friendly while leaving us to explore. The Clara Barton room was tastefully decorated in period style while offering current-day luxuries. Two breakfasts solidified their culinary talents—so good! The grounds lended themselves to wind-downs after a day of adventure and the proximity to both towns of Sharpsburg and Shepherdstown make dining options easy. The inn is definitely going on our “return” list.

We had a delightful 2-night stay at the Joseph Rohrbach Inn! The inn is beautifully maintained, the Jackson room was wonderful with the most comfortable bed/linens we’ve ever had in years of B&Bs. Attention to details most appreciated. There is excellent access to the Antietam National Battlefield; be sure to take a tour with one of the licensed guides and ask Chris for guidance in making arrangements if needed. Shepherdstown WV is close as well. Chris and Amy are the perfect hosts with helpful information and incredible breakfasts. (Maya and Libby provide enthusiastic canine entertainment!) This is a great halfway point for us in trips to see family; we will definitely be back!

I normally do not leave detailed feedback but the Jacob Rohrbach Inn deserves more detail: CLEAN; UPDATED BUT HISTORICAL; CIVIL WAR THEME; OUTSTANDING LOCATION; EXPERTLY DECORATED AND FURNISHED; GREAT SOUND INSULATION BETWEEN ROOMS; HIGH-END BEDS, SHEETS, AND PILLOWS; OWNERS LOVE WHAT THEY DO AND IT SHOWS. Chris and Amy (proprietors) have not only put their hearts into their B&B, they've put their hearts into the town of Sharpsburg and the Antietam Battlefield. The B&B is the cleanest I've ever visited. The breakfast changes daily, is often of local ingredients, and is plentiful (I'm a big guy and can never finish my breakfast). Rooms are large; solid A/C throughout; quality toilet paper (it's the small things, man); robes provided; plenty of outdoor lounge/dining seating; 24hr coffee, tea, snacks, filtered water, plenty of USB charging ports and modern plugs in the rooms. They have thought of all the details. Chris is the real deal: military veteran, licensed battlefield guide, and current President of the Antietam Institute. I am an amateur history nerd and would recommend him to anyone. Trust me...take a guide during your visit. It makes a difference. Amy is incredibly down-to-earth, sweet, and an outstanding chef. She is very knowledgeable about the area and is a great conversationalist about the area and its history. My third of many future visits to Antietam's JRI.

The Jacob Rohrbach Inn is a gem and wonderful to stay in. We were in the Antietam Suite for this visit and loved it. The room is spacious and very comfortable. The king bed is perfect, and the linens were so cozy. Our breakfast was really nice too, with a French toast cassolette, local link sausages, freshly made scones and freshly chopped fruit. All of this and your choice of juices and coffee. The hosts here are Amy and Chris. They are incredible hosts and made our stay in Sharpsburg wonderful. We can’t wait to visit again.

Our stay at the Rohrbach Inn certainly met all expectations. Chris and Amy were gracious hosts and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. Our friends were especially delighted to have a room with access to the outside porch. Without getting into details, a weekend that should have included three couples was reduced to only two. Chris and Amy were very accommodating and understanding regarding the reservations. i was very pleased with the way in which our situation was handled. The breakfast each morning was excellent. There was a good balance both days and very satisfying meals. If there would be any suggestion, it felt like the serving of breakfast might be a bit regimented. Chris and Amy were very good hosts, but we did get an impression that if we were not down in the dining room as directed, that we would miss out on breakfast. Perhaps a bit more grace time could be afforded. If you are thinking of visiting the area, whether for the battlefield or maybe Sheperd University, you probably know what to expect. Sharpsburg is not exactly a happening town. Sheperdstown, WV is more lively with plenty of options for dining or drinks. We plan another visit in the Spring of 2024, Chris provides an incredible tour of the battlefield, and cannot see any reason why we not rebook at the Inn.
