The Tunnel Inn was my first B&B experience and I have been back 4+ times. You have to realize Gallitzin is a old mining town. So there isn't a whole lot to do there. But I go here to relax and enjoy the trains. Yes, trains, and lots of them all day and night. Mike has made this a haven... More

A great place to watch trains and be in a small, peaceful little town. Mike & his wife are very nice people and enjoyable to talk to. The rooms are decorated very nicely although the shower in the MO Tower room is a bit small. Breakfast is adequate, but good, delivered in a cute basket; muffins, coffee, juice and fruit... More

This is a great place to stay, very clean and modern. It is ideal for railfans, and a great spot to watch trains -- but, others will like it too, as there aren't that many places to stay in the area, other than chain hotels in Altoona. The Tunnel Inn is close to many good places to see, near the... More

If you're into railroads, this is the place for you. The Tunnel Inn is adjacent to the Gallitzin tunnel entrance. Trains pass within feet of the B&B on what was once the mainline Pennsylvania Railroad tracks. An upper level deck extends behind the Inn for close up viewing of the trains outdoors. There is even a light switch on the... More

We just spent four nights at the Tunnel Inn and once again it didn't disappoint. Clean rooms in a well cared for building and just about all of them have a closeup view of the mainline. Great for train fans but even if you have a family member who is not the rooms are quiet as there is surprisingly little... More

We enjoyed our one-night stay here. Our room was clean, the owners were very friendly, and the Inn is located overlooking the double track rail line. Trains were plentiful with an especially nice view from the nearby bridge. For supper we ate at the nearby Iron Horse which offered basic food at a very reasonable price. The Inn provided a... More

Located adj to the Mainline - right @ the mouth of the Alleghany Tunnels, @ the top of the grade. Very inviting grounds around the inn, clean and maintained. This place was amazing. Shiny clean, awesome decor, fantastic service, and a view of the trains going through the tunnels from your window or a covered deck. Bathroom was beautiful, halls were filled with extras to look at, read, or enjoy (Keurig Coffee). The breakfast served at your door in a picnic basket was wonderful. PJ's Tavern in nearby Cresson...
