Please avoid this hotel at any cost because they are not trustful. If you have booked already then try to cancel it, unless you want them to steal your money. I will surely tell you my experience so you will be informed and don't experience the same thing as I did which was so bad. It give me trauma. I was in San Fracisco already and looked for a nice hotel. Casey (a guy that works there at reception) gave me a good deal per night, USD 60 including tax. Anyway upon my check in he made a huge mistake by taking out twice the amount I had to pay. Beside he took also another huge amount that I didn't know about it. He took my card and I don't know what he did but he could place transactions without my permission. Luckily I get notifications right away, so I asked him about it. He said that is deposit but it should be not taken from my account. He also said because they made some renovation during COVID, the system is also changed and is not working properly. To amends his mistake he came up wih a proposal which was to give me extra discount, USD 40 per night including tax. I sure accepted this. All this happened behind his boss back. He charged me by "mistake" USD 700,-. Casey tried to redo this but I still needed to wait 8 days because of the rules of the bank I use. To make sure I will get my money back I satyed longer than I really wanted in San Francisco. So after a fews days I extended my stay. Even without my present and nor authorisation he could take out money from my account. This was so scary so I asked him how this is even possible but I didn't get answer and he tried again to cancel the transaction.... but yeah for this new transaction I had to wait again 8 days. Anyway almost beng there two weeks in cold San Francisco I decided just to leave and believe I will get back my money. Luckily a day before I received 2 out of 4 transactions back. During my check out Casey did not say anything. Once I was in Flixbus to Los Angeles I got again notifications... He took money from my account without my permission and authorisation USD 410,- and USD 300,-. He knew I was heading to Los Angeles. I blokcked my card immediately. I don't know how he was able to take money from my account, without permission. I've never experienced anything like this. When I reached out to his boss he didn't take me serious and supported his lies. They basically stole money from me. I have reported and hopelly will get back everything. I wanted share my experience so you wouldn't expierence the same.…
I'm so glad we booked here for our stay in San Francisco. The location was ideal with plenty of bus services around. The beds are so comfortable! The shower is good, the service was fantastic..cleaned the room every day with fresh towels and the bed made every day too. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a stay!
For this review I contacted the hotel and the rate is 149 dollars. It is on priceline for 94 after tax at this very moment. Found the room on priceline and stayed for about 4 days averaging 85 a night after taxes. When you take into account the free parking that is offered this translates into a great deal. The room was near the road but i did not mind as i like to gaze out the window often and the noise does not bother me at all. Furnishings are par for the course and everything in the room was clean. My only issue was that once the sun goes down i could not see anything in the room. The lighting was so dim and depressing it took allot to get used to. When i say dim i mean it was hard to even read the ingredients on a food box without going into the bathroom. We started to leave the bathroom door open and the light on so we could see better, but sometimes the fan noise became bothersome. Other than that i would recommend this place do to the price when booking third party do to the price. For some reason if you book direct they feel inclined to charge near double. Actually just now, while writing this review on the steps, I was just confronted by a man asking me if i "knew him". He opened the door previously when i sat down to smoke and slammed it shut right away which i found wierd. This time i sat down to do the review and smoke. He comes out, so i stand up to make way on the stairs. He says with allot of hostility "do i know you?!" I said what? He then repeated himself and got near my face while looking sideways at me. He grabbed his bag and got into his car and sped away. So be careful at nite time because this was scary for me and this man appeared to be on drugs. …
Nice Motel with friendly staff and some awesome amenity: 1. price 2. located close to Palace of Fine Arts, Chesnut St. (bars, restaurants, cafes) and Golden Gate Bridge 3. small breakfast 4. parking for free. The Lombard St. can be rather loud in the morning during the week, but I get up early to watch the sunrise at Fort Point. The bed was perfect and I could sleep really good. Keep in mind, that it‘s not a 5* luxury hotel. But everything was nice and clean. I was really satisfied. Thumbs up!
Great location, which is really what this motel is for. It was super convenient. The room was very clean. Service was decent. We didn’t eat breakfast there, really wasn’t much to choose from but we got to eat at other places. I was there for a total of 4 days.
We spent there about 4 nights and there were both pros and cons styaing here. Pro: Location close to marina, golden gate Bridge, walkable to restaurants nearby. Free parking: lots of parking spots and safe. Breakfast : breakfast was a typical breakfast most hotel served i.e. Breads, toasters, jams, milk, coffee, instant hot chocolate, orange, apples, oatmeal. Cons: Dated room: we stayed at the rear of the hotel so. It was not noisy at all but we didnt like the smell of the room once we walked in. The room was very dated like torn lampshed. The carpet was quite dirty and they didnt clean the carlet and we knew because we dropped something on the floor and it was still left there after we got back at night.
we stayed at la luna got put in a room at the rear of hotel positive : No road Noise Room clean close to bus stops and walkable to bar / restaurants safe area Negatives No Fridge as advertised Room and furnishing very dated and in need of upgrade Have spent over 4 weeks trying to get $100 deposit returned was told when checking in would be returned in a few days after leaving but when checking out a notice was on reception saying would take up to 10 days !!!!! Back home now sent several Emails and still no deposit returned !!!!!!
When my husband and I stayed at La Luna Inn recently, I was severely disappointed. The curtains in our room were torn as were the lampshades. There was one child sized plastic chair in the room. The bathroom was clean and had ample hot water; however, the tub was chipped and dreary looking. There were stains on the comforter cover that didn't show until the lights were on at night. In the office, the "personnel only" door looked like someone had kicked it creating a long crack. Although the person at the desk was cordial when we arrived, the stay overall was unpleasant. The motel is run down.
Spacious room, with tv, fridge and coffee and comfy bed. Fresh towels daily. Exceptional help from all staff on the desk with tips and recommendations to help us enjoy our stay. Not the hotel’s fault that the road was being dug up outside and a cleaning crew were power-washing the building, but combined with the traffic it was noisy! WiFi was patchy. We were an easy walk to the Marina where we watched the superb Blue Angels in a display. Buses to Fisherman’s Wharf and the Bridge depart from close by. We would stay again.
We were in SF for a short stay during a multi-state west coast trip. Wanted something close to the Presidio and Fisherman’s Wharf without spending an arm and a leg. Chose La Luna based on some other reviews and were very happy. Fancy? No. Huge room? No? Clean, great location, felt safe, great service? You bet! If you have traveled in Europe or Central/South America and are familiar with smaller rooms you’ll be fine here. The staff - both day and night - were superb! Gave us helpful info and let us leave our rental car there past check out on Sunday so we could meet a friend for lunch before heading for the airport. (Breakfast is very marginal, but there are loads of markets, eateries, and coffee shops everywhere you look on Lombard and Chestnut - go explore!)
