Loved this place, there is an amazing cafe across the road for breakfast and the staff were amazingly helpful! Would stay here again. Is within easy walking distance of Union Square and most facilities making the trip a pleasant experience!

we enjoyed the hotel but it needs more amenities-they were building a new cafe-but there was no bar /gym/breakfast-which is a pity as it is a great building which they have improved.the room was good sized and clean.however the price is way too high for what you receive.

We found Hotel Vertigo via hotels.com and thought "okay, good price and looks nice." The beds were very uncomfortable, the orange all over gets to be too much. Our room was very hot and there was no good way to cool it down. The desk staff seemed helpful although, when we asked for directions about where to park instead of... More

I can't say enough great things about Hotel Vertigo. I consider myself pretty critical & I was truly so impressed. Location is safe & within walking distance to so many places. The rooms & lobby are clean, fresh & nicely updated. For an older building is was very impressive. The staff? Phenomenal!! Especially Sam & Greg. So helpful, friendly personable.... More

My first time in San Francisco, I was very happy with this choice of accommodation! The hotel has a 'boutique' feel, with good character. The rooms were a good size, our room had 2 (very comfy) double beds, and still had ample space to move around. The room and bathroom were clean and in good condition. Appear just as expected,... We arrived and found a sign that said 45$ for valet but no valet on sight . When I asked where the valet was , I was told that in case I decided to valet , they have to call someone to go park the car . I thought 45$ per night was a bit too much , so asked... More

Great location as a base in the lower nob hill neighborhood. The hotel starred in an alfred hitchcock movie (perhaps his best ever) and that gives it a sense of history. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and updated. We had a top floor street facing room and it was so quiet. Great stay and wouldn't hesitate... More

Seems a big bio medic conference on in San Fransisco this week. So paying way to much to stay in this faded hotel. Queen bedded room is actually a double bed. View from opening window(a plus) is the construction happening in the first level. For $500AUD a night not value for money.
