We requested early check-in and we did receive it (we only had to wait 1 hour), but the line was very long and they weren't very efficient in retrieving our checked bags and checking us in. The hotel is in a great location downtown. The bathroom was cleaned very quickly and slightly carelessly. There was residue in the sink and...

Great location, really close to Union Square, AT&T Park, Museum of Modern Arts, and Market Street. Our room was in the top floor, small room but the bed & restroom were ok. The gym is awesome, modern and new equipment.

My partner and I celebrated 20 years together in the beautiful city where we met,and lived for nearly 25 years - San Francisco. To make it extra special we spent the weekend at the W SF! We requested early check-in and a room on the highest floor possible - as we're huge fans of rooms with a view. - and...

i understand the hotel has been redecorated. it's unusual. i have a battery lit Buddha statue in the room in its own alcove and an odd asian doll statue nailed to the desk. a short bench instead of chairs, and furniture with indents instead of knobs that are difficult to open. it was described as a city view room. it's...

There are some nice features, but the negatives out way the positives. The restaurant had limited selections. Supposedly written in English but with fufu language, I didnt understand any thing on the menu. The coffee was terrible. The book in the room that explains everything is so small that I needed a magnifying glass to read it. Takes a rocket...

This hotel had phenomenal service and recognition to platinum members. The location is also incredibly convenient and is within walking distance of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts. The Art Deco in the hotel reflected the nearby museum. It was its own modern style. The suite I stayed in had a beautiful city view and amazing decorations. Upon entering...

This hotel was different. It was the best hotel my daughter has ever been to. She loved it. The Art Deco reflected the San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts within walking distance perfectly. The decoration had its own style that was innovative and creative and beautiful. The suite we stayed in was phenomenal with extraordinary views of the city and...

We stayed in W hotel San Francisco for just 1 night as part of a road trip of the west coast. Some pros: - Check-in was fairly smooth and quick - As SPG platinum we were upgraded to a corner room with a cool view of the Golden Gate Bridge - Bed was comfortable enough - Ample space for luggages...

My husband and I traveled to San Francisco for a getaway weekend and had a great stay at the W. The service was outstanding, the corner King room was wonderful, and the food was great as well. Despite the 'nightclub' atmosphere in the lobby at night, our room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel location is great and easy walking...

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
