Budget hotel that "punches above it's weight." Great value for money. We stayed on for four nights. Staff couldn't do enough to assist and often went "beyond the call of duty." Very conveniently located. Two minute walk to Powell Street. Wake in the morning to the sound of the cable car bell. Not intrusive but charming. Good facilities. Everything works...

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel located in a safe area of town, for an extended visit (13 nights). This hotel exceeded my expectations, and I found it a welcoming, comfortable and unique place to stay in a perfect downtown location. The hotel staff are extremely helpful, competent and friendly. The housekeeping staff are pleasant and thorough. The...

We stayed here for a week over Christmas & it was ideal for us. The rooms were clean & perfectly adequate for our needs - they were cleaned & re-stocked with toiletries every day. The lounge had a roaring log fire & lovely comfy sofas and the free wine-tasting was held there every evening - it was a great opportunity...

We booked this hotel in advance after reading good reviews but were really disappointed. It was really musty and the breakfast had been taken away. A poor offering of pastry, apple and stale muffin were given to any guest booking before September 2009. This was scant consolation to be honest. The location was awesome and the people on the reception...

We were advised we would get a continental breakfast - there wasnt any and there were no apologies. Our room was freezing and had a musty smell, so we were moved to a room with a thing called a `heater?' a novelty it seems. Funny thought most of the civilised world had those as a given even in the tropics....

We stayed at this hotel five years ago and things have gone downhill in that time. We booked the room through Expedia and received a good rate, but we were disappointed with our stay this time around. Our 'King Size' room was small, with an unpleasant smell and no central heating or cooling. Our booking confirmation stated that a continental...

I feel as if I lose 'man points' by using the word "Splendid." But that's really the only word I can use to describe the Executive Vintage Court. I brought my wife to San Francisco for 5 days and we loved our stay. I'll break this down for you and hope to keep it short and sweet. LOCATION: This place...

My daughter and I were in town for three days to find an apartment for her. We wanted to be near Union Square but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I chose this hotel after reading the reviews and was expecting an old, musty hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel very well maintained, perfectly located...

We arrived at this hotel, everything pleasant as to be expected but upon arriving to the room was greeted by a nasty musty smell. I had expected this as read in previous reviews so didnt complaned and opened the windows to air the place out. The next day (after the smell had gone away) the room was serviced and the...

Stayed at the vintage court for 4 nights on a recent trip to san francisco. First there was the 20+ minute wait to check in, as there was one guy working front desk and a lineup waiting (we were the first in line, so that would give you some sort of an idea). The elevator also broke down basically the...

Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighborhood decorated with colorful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighborhood.
