Hotel is located above the Stockton tunnel, so you are quite close to Union Square. (Tip: If you have a car, park at the 450 Sutter St garage - you get in/out privileges, and it was $34/night for the hotel special.) Got a deal via bargain site, that included one night in a queen bed room, and included breakfast. The...

My husband and I stayed at the EVHC May 1-4. Check-in was easy, and our room was very clean and modern. Location was convenient and every evening they host a wine hour in the lobby. We really enjoyed getting to know our fellow travelers over a few glasses of wine. On the down side, the "free breakfast" was a definite...

Reasonable price for what you get in San Francisco. Very small rooms, but really they have everything you need. Small bathroom but still has a shower/tub combo. Since it was only my husband and I, it worked well. We were right across from the elevator, which I thought would be problem, but we hardly ever heard much noise. The staff...

I stayed here for a long weekend with friends, it was the greatest location downtown walking distance to everything, (plus great parking st Stockton St garage around the corner!), comfy beds, rooms have high ceilings and classic bay windows, excellent staff. Not the most modern but very charming. I could stay here a month.

Stayed here for one night recently and was perfectly satisfied. It's a cheaper hotel, in a very good location (right by China Town and a short walk to The Farmers Market) with a comfy bed. The rooms are small but have everything you need. I wouldn't want to stay here for more than a night or two though, think it...

Good location - clean and comfortable beds - staff helpful - overall in need of an upgrade and air freshners. Very small and old shower room with toilet - hand basin in the bedroom. Bathroom door did not close properly. No room service that recall. Only a coffee machine and paper cups in room no electric jug or cups. Be...

This place had an old world feel to it; more personal and traditional than an ultra-modern hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms basic but airy - you could open the windows instead of suffocating. You could walk up the stairs to your room, not the fire escape as in some other hotels. It's also quite central...

Travelling in the USA can be expensive. This hotel is 7 storeys located near Union Square and just down the street from the Cable Car. I was able to walk up from the Powell BART station coming in from and going back to airport. It was about a 10 minute walk which worked for me as I just travel with...

The hotel is a good find for SF. The Gentleman at the front desk was exceptional . He was helpful accommodating not only to me but to all the guests I observed checking in or asking for information. The room while small ,Normal for SF had everything you needed and the bed was very comfortable.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighborhood decorated with colorful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighborhood.
