Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Hotel Triton emerges as a charming and eclectic haven in a central location beloved by guests for its proximity to Chinatown and Union Square. While the rooms at Hotel Triton are consistently celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, some visitors have noted that they can feel a bit snug and have mentioned occasional issues with air conditioning. The hotel's staff is frequently applauded for their friendliness and helpfulness, although there have been rare mentions of management being less responsive. The complimentary happy hour and breakfast are hits among travelers, although the 'urban amenity fee' and limited breakfast variety have not gone unnoticed. Despite these hiccups, the overall atmosphere and value of the hotel often leave guests with a positive impression.

This place is awesome. I have two service dogs and the hotel dosent charge me some huge security deposit for them and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to ensure you get the best out of your stay. The continental breakfast is amazing and so is the happy hour in the lobby in the afternoon. I had a great Prez day weekend there and can’t wait to visit there again!! Thanks guys !

My wife and I spent a nice getaway at Hotel Triton in San Francisco to do some Holiday shopping. We were very pleased with all of the very Personable/Friendly Staff at this Wonderful Hotel and the Decor was Fun, Festive and Lovely! The location couldn't have been better - We were a block away from Union Square and at the Lions Gate entrance to Chinatown. The room was of ample size and very comfy and every night the hotel has "Happy Hour" for a few hours and they serve snacks, wine, beer and canned cocktails in a nicely decorated lobby. We had breakfast next door in the very French Cafe de la Presse which was also very good. We highly recommend Hotel Triton and would definitely stay there again!

Stayed at this hotel after 30+ years on first visit. Great location and staff very helpful and friendly. Close to Muni, cable car and BART. Daily breakfast and afternoon happy hour was great. Free fortune cookies too! Heleina, Rozlyn and Sophie at the front desk were so nice to us. We'll be back to visit soon.

Thank you for your recent review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate your feedback regarding your stay with us. While we were so glad that you enjoyed our convenient location, I apologize that you experienced some guestroom issues. Please be assured that this is not typical of the service we provide and we would have gladly have relocated you to another room. Our room windows due open about 6 inches for additional air flow. We will certainly check the filter to insure proper operation of the HVAC unit. We truly appreciate your business and look forward to welcoming you back. Gary Hageman / General Manager / Hotel Triton

You can't get a better location in the City. It's right at the gates of Chinatown so easy walk to North Beach and also to Union Square. All the staff were welcoming and delightful. There's a complimentary continental breakfast and a generous happy hour. I'm a wine lover and the wine was great. An incredible deal all around. Great bed, great linens, great service and with Cafe Presse right next door doing room service, perfection. A romantic find. I'm a San Franciscan and this was a staycation for us. Couldn't be better.

Great stay. Great rooms! Helena was so delightful to talk to as we were checking in. I love the fortune cookies available for people at the desk. You even get a free snack if you pick a fortune that tells you that you won! The room is nice and cozy. Bed is nice and firm.

There was a moldy smell in my room and my air conditioner never worked in the whole five days I was staying in the hotel so I always walked into a misty hot room. There is no desk area so it was hard to find a place to work in my room. But the service and breakfast was great!

I arrived late and exhausted, around 11 pm, for an overnight business trip. I was kept waiting at check-in for nearly 30 minutes because “our system is currently very slow”. My room - which I’d reserved on the hotel website - was the smallest I’ve ever stayed in, in the rear interior of the 3rd floor (325). I literally could not stretch out in the tiny available floor space. There was no hot water available in my tiny bathroom sink (cold only, in both the hot and cold directions), so I had to run the shower to wash my face with hot water. There was barely enough room in the bathroom to turn around. Staff also was unhelpful regarding my request to retrieve something from the list and found, left from a prior visit. After this visit, I understand why many of my colleagues refuse to stay here. I will not stay again - despite the clean and comfortable bed, the rest of the experience was miserable.

Thank you for your recent review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate your feedback and apologize that we fell short of your expectations. Please be assured that this delay at check-in is investigated as we seldom experience technical issues that would cause such a delay. I realize it was a late hour but we would have gladly selected another room for you. We do offer a number of corner rooms with additional square footage, large king size beds and very spacious bathrooms. I would gladly assist with your "lost & found" items, if you would like to contact me. As you can see from most of our reviews, this is not typical of the service we provide. I feel given another opportunity during a future visit that we can turn this around. Please feel free to contact me. We appreciate your business and hope to welcome you back. Cute quirky hotel at a great rate. They have valet parking, or there is a garage visible just half a block down the road for a little cheaper. There is a complimentary happy hour daily with beer, wine, and canned cocktails, as well as a very basic continental breakfast (mainly pastries, coffee, and juice). Super close to some great restaurants (Nomu Skewer, Corzetti, Cafe De La Presse) and China Town.
