We stayed 2 nights in early March 2020 and found it very conveniently located. The young lady at the front desk, Angelina, was so helpful in advising us how to get around the city and places to dine. It is an older hotel but our room was spacious and clean. The only negative is the parking. The small lot has only one entrance/exit and is fairly narrow. We were in a pickup so we had to back out of the lot when we used it--not enough room to turn around. Ended up parking in one of the 2 spots behind the office area. We enjoyed our stay in SF and would recommend this hotel.
My experience at that hotel was less than poor. I will list the issues I had during the nights I had to spend there and I apologize in advance if I am graphic with some issues but I need to call things for their name. 1. First day I showered there I found pubic hair on more than one towel. (Tuesday, February 25th) 2. Same day I found hairs on the walls of the shower. 3. The shower floor was super slippery. I slipped (didn’t fall) twice. Didn’t ask for a anti-slip mat because after seeing the poor hygiene they had, I was scared of them giving me one with mold on it. 4. The plug in the restroom didn’t work. 5. The hair dryer didn’t work. 6. The AC/Heating unit was extremely loud. 7. I woke up with a horrible migraine on Wednesday at 3:30 am and needed to take my medicine, no water in the room, so I adventured to open the fridge and Surprise!!! … I found a bag with a sandwich, another bag with food and a beer in there (needless to say that was not mine). So I called the front desk to ask for water and the lady told me to drink tap water because in San Francisco was very safe to drink from the tap. I checked the paper cups and all “sealed” cups were not sealed… the bags were opened. At that point didn’t really know if it was even safe to pour water on those cups.…
From check in to check out, I could not fault either the hotel or staff. I would like to thank Raymond and his fantastic team for helping to make our stay in SF such a great experience, the level of service was excellent. The hotel itself is in a quiet location, and yes you can hear some traffic noise, but it is very minimal. The rooms are excellent value for money, very very clean and comfortable. Parking was readily available, with spaces free every day we were there. When we return to SF, we would not look to stay anywhere else.
The locatiion is convenient to the Palace of Fine Arts and Crissy Field; you can walk to Fishermans' Wharf, climb the 300+ Lyon Street steps (for morning exercise), and take the #45 bus to North Beach, Chinatown and Union Square. Other busses stop there as well. The Manager also acts as a very knowledgeable concierge with recommendations for restaurants, entertainment, discous, etc. We have stayed here on trip to SF for at least 10 years, and hope to again. The breakfast is adequate as are the rooms. It is not a 5-star hotel, nor deos it have 5-star prices, but the location and staff are 5-star.
We stayed at this Travel Lodge for four nights. The staff are very friendly and were happy to help enhance my visit to this great city by happily answer all my questions. The neighborhood and the traffic is busy during the day but by night, its very quiet, almost like a ghost-town. The downside is they charge $20 per night for a dog and dont provide an inch of dirt for your dog to do its business. The rooms are nice but our room with a king bed was super small. The price is reasonable so all in all we we will return next time we visit SF. Thank you Manager Ray and Nicolette who helped make out stay a pleasant stay.
