We spent nearly a week in this Most Amazing Hotel. We had a king suite with a large and very comfortable living room area, complete with a couch, bay windows and chairs. The bath room had two sinks and a window that open nicely to get fresh air in. The bed was high and very comfortable. The suite had two... More

Room was excellent, very old décor and Victorian charm, and service at check-in was informative. This was our second visit to the city and decided to stay at Majestic this time, which was a wise decision. The pretty lady at Reception, Manika, if I remember it correct, made sure to give us the nicest room and address our preferences. We... More

After looking at hotels in San Fran and realising everything central is really expensive we found Hotel Majestic online. It is a bit old and quaint but that's part of its charm. Lovely decor providing a very restful regal atmosphere. Built in 1902 and survived the Big earthquake of 1906 the hotel is elegantly appointed. There is an on location restaurant for meals. Try a suite and you get a canapy bed and fireplace.

First off...this is the oldest hotel in San Francisco! Travellers should always research ..I think the somewhat negative reviews here sound like they come from people who just 'booked' via a bookng site and didn't even look up the hotel! I did a bit of research so I knew it's place in SF's history. It is absolutely gorgeous. Restored to... More
