The Fairmont on Nob Hill still holds its charm and its high level of service. From the superb William at the front or Ivan in the lobby with his carriage waiting everyone knows how to handle a customer. For example, I was able to have my son and his wife and young girls spend the weekend. They found a great... More

I loved the Fairmont hotel for everything it brought. The ambience the service and the location. The only downside was the charges for the internet and breakfast. In this day and age you would expect any hotel to at least give you internet access without charging you fifteen dollars for it, particularly when you are paying five hundred dollars for... More

This is another beautiful property from the Fairmont chain, a true historic gem in the heart of San Francisco. Rooms are good size, well appointed with great amenities. Beds and pillows are wonderful, the high quality linens feel soft and fresh. This hotel is centrally located on top of Nob Hill, just steps from China Town and within walking distance... More

The Fairmont in San Francisco was amazing! We ended up getting a great rate here from Hotel Tonight, and the hotel definitely checked every box. We ate at the Tonga Room (great!) and the lounge bar, and they also have a coffee bar downstairs. The rooms are nicely sized, and you are able to request room service and other amenities... More

The staff the moment you walk in are helpful. I loved the front desk staff they made my check in easy, convenient and called my cellphone when my room was ready. The rooms were perfect and view outstanding! This was my first time at a Fairmont and will not be my last.

We were in San Francisco for business and one of our events was at this truly awesome hotel. It is located in Nob Hill, very central to everything. It is like stepping back in time with his historical vaulted ceiling and Corinthian columns and expansive staircases. We had a wonderful dinner and awards ceremony in the beautiful ballroom. The service... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay in the Casa Blanca suite for two nights. This room had two full bathrooms, a spacious living area complete with a dining table and a beautiful master bedroom. The view from this 6th floor corner suite included Alcatraz and the Coit Tower. The staff was attentive, even comping us a free... More

We had a beautiful room (number 1104) in the newer part (tower). The view was great and the room was spacious and modern. Especially the large bathroom with walk-in shower was pleasant. The hotel lobby and the large ballrooms are impressive and pompous. It was great to stay in a monument. The concierge is very helpful and nice. The check-in... More

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights at the start of our California tour. It is centrally located. The trams are nearby and you can walk to China Town and the centre. There are a number of nice restaurants within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean and spacious. The great advantage is... More

Just love this hotel - it's so historic and beautiful and the service is wonderful. The Corinthian columns, vaulted ceilings and beautiful staircases make me swoon! Walking outside and being in beautiful Nob Hill makes me smile. The welcoming service is always top notch. I joined a friend on a business trip so I had a lot of free time.... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
