I have stayed in several Fairmont properties in the US and in Canada and this is one of the most beautiful. Impeccably clean, quiet, respectful staff, fabulous location. Treat yourself- you'll be glad you did.

HOTEL’S FAVORITE REVIEW
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I've stayed at the Fairmont San Francisco for years, as well as the Mark across the street and Stanford Court. However, I always come back to the Fairmont. I love this Nob Hill location - it is a cable car stop which is nice for tourists, but it is a bit away from the hustle & bustle of the kitschy... More

Quiet lovely room, very modern and clean lines. It is a bit of a hike from Union Square, but not in a bad way. Perfect if you want to be away from the crowd with great views. Close to Chinatown and Little Italy (North Beach).

We stayed 3 nights in a towers room. The room had recently been renovated and was a lovely mix of modern and tradition in keeping with the heritage of the building. During our stay the wifi was very patchy however as soon as we mentioned it to the staff the sent someone up to look at the wifi router and... More

Stayed with the family here for 2 nights in August. We were offered at check in to upgrade our 2 adjoining rooms to a 2 bedroom suite for a few hundred dollars extra per night so we did. Had amazing views of the harbour, golden gate etc. If offered, take the room upgrade. Tower rooms are quite a trek from... More

Excellent place to stay especially in SF. The staff is as professional as they come and attentive in all areas. One surprise was when a bellboy showed up With extra robes which Indid not request as there were already robes in the room. That was an unexpected treat. As they say,"It's the little things".

Too long of a walk from elevators to lobby. Room service pizza was way overpriced and average at best. Breakfast buffet was overpriced and what 5 star hotel tells u to come back in 15 minutes for a table for breakfast when 4 seat tables are open but u are a party of 2. Rooms were okay....views were excellent.

Located at the very top of Nob Hill, if you are walking anywhere in the city it's a bit of a hike, but I like the exercise. I arrived here for an overnight conference. The lobby is large and ornate, very classic and has a great deal of history. Arriving at 11:30 I was told that my room was not... More

There are places to take photos even from the outside as well as the inside. The moment you walk in already elegance and the service is good as the door bell open the door. The restaurant also quite reasonable too. There is a side door for short cut too.

We are big fans of the Fairmont group hotels but the Fairmont San Francisco is in a class of its own compared to the other hotels we have stayed in in the US and Europe. The hotel is pure class steeped in history and so full of things to see that it is worth the visit for that reason alone.... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
