The room smelled when we checked in, a musty, unrelenting odor. The room had worn-out furnishings and I’m pretty sure the dirty carpet is the same from 50 years ago when this rundown flophouse was built. Here’s our experience: When we washed up for the night we found that we each had one small thin towel, worn and scratchy. We... More

If you are looking for the la-dee-dah San Francisco hotel experience, with high-end accommodations and fancy accoutrements, the Seal Rock Inn is not for you. But if you want a large space and a comfortable room at a reasonable price, Seal Rock is a great choice. Seal Rock Inn is located just a couple of blocks from Seal Rock and... More

This hotel came highly recommended and, unfortunately, didn't live up to it's reputation. The hotel sits in a great location, and the views from the rooms are nice. Our room looked out on Sutro Park, but unfortunately also looked out on the bus stop with buses running well into the night. The big problem we had was that the room... More

Location is great with free parking and restaurant on site but closes at 4pm. The rooms are large but the beds have seen better days and the carpet should be replaced or deep cleaned. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times in the past year and all the rooms had the same issue....But overall it is very good and... More

Off the beaten path bargain. At the end of Geary right next to the Cliff House, Ocean Beach and the Presidio, this motel offers it all. Free parking, large rooms, fireplaces and an on-site restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and have lots of extras like a fridge and microwave.

Our family had 3 rooms at this retro beauty and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are decent size, clean, and most have a view of the ocean. The staff is helpful ( thanks Rick! ) and the restaurant connected has a great breakfast menu! All eight of us were pleased with our stay and would definitely return.

Gorgeous mid- century decor, you'll feel as if you've stepped onto the set of Mad Men. Frank Lloyd Wright meets classic California coastal architecture blending beautifully with the magnificence of the coast. Situated across the street from Sutro Heights park, and Sutro Bath ruins (Harold & Maude) just around the bend from Cliff House restaurant. We watched the ships set... More

Haven't stayed at the Inn, but have enjoyed their restaurant for brunch. Good selection of breakfast/brunch options in a cozy setting, with views to Seal Rocks and the Pacific outside of the Golden Gate. The Inn is located in a quiet neighborhood, very close to the ocean. Just across the street from historic Sutro Heights park, as well as the... More

I read about this place in the LA times in which the author gave it good reviews. A little old fashioned when making reservations as you have to call and many times it was hard to get ahold of a live person, and then they send you a confirmation and register receipt via snail mail. But I liked the personal... More

What a fantastic place to stay -- affordable, clean connecting rooms on the top floor with an amazing view of the Land's End section of Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the ocean. Saw an amazing sunset our first night, walked out to Land's End and the beach nearly every day, and had a great array of restaurants to choose... More
