I was just there spending the weekend with my husband. We came back to our room to find that my iPad had been stolen. Stolen right out of our room! We informed hotel security who gave us a claim number. We called the claims department for Marriott and were informed that there was nothing they could do. They claimed they...

Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and very clean rooms. Wine bar on the top floor a great place to meet with friends and a great view of the city. Spa facitities good, but a little on the expensive side. Great size swimming pool. Gym fullyequipped and again friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location to explore the city.

Easy to get to using BART, Powell St. Station. Rooms are clean, nice. Beds were comfortable. Did not have a problem with noise. No bottled water in the room, but if you are a marriott elite, you can get water bottles from the concierge lounge on the 2nd floor. The only negative was breakfast in the concierge lounge. Because you...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Our room (#2164) was clean and comfortable. The bed offered a good night sleep. The view from this corner room was great, as we could see the park at Mascone Center, over to ATT Park (where the Giants play), to the bay in the distance. I would recommend to the hotel that...

It’s been many years since I stayed at this Marriott but I needed to remain in town an extra night so I selected this property based on price and location. It’s a large conference hotel and the lobby is always bustling but there are plenty of dining options and seating for the crowd. Generally I prefer to have a non-connecting...

The great feature of this hotel is its location. I was there for a conference and when the conference was not in session I was interested in the seeing the city. This property is located near a BART stop and the end of the cable car line. So, easy transport is within walking distance. With that said, you are also...

An excellent hotel close to Union Square and shopping. A taxi to Fisherman's Wharf was about $15 or you could ride one way on the cable car for $7 Rooms were very comfortable and as long as you are a Marriott member the wifi is free.

The Marriott is always dependable for cleanliness, comfort, security, and amenities. The difference with this one is that the location is right in the middle of San Francisco's fun market area. A short walk to everything . This is also a very popular convention center and there seems to be several large conferences going on at the same time. This...

We Stayed at this hotel recently, yes it is a little dated and busy. We found the beds very comfortable. Wifi could be better kept on falling away. San Francisco is overall way too expensive and this hotel was also very pricey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My wife had left her shoes behind,we only found this out...

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
