Had a great stay at the super central Marriott Marquis in SF. All was great with very nice staff and great platinum upgrade. The m-lounge was closed and replaced with a so so continental breakfast. I had an unpleasant wakeup call in the middle of the night with someone wanting to deliver a pizza, crazy that this happened and sleep was destroyed.
We had an amazing experience celebrating my brother’s 40th Birthday! I was able to get a fantastic upgrade using a suite night award (ambassador status). My siblings were able to get upgraded guest rooms with a city view and we were all accommodated on the same floor. The suite was very spacious and perfect for hosting 20ppl to toast my brothers birthday. The service was above and beyond even with limitations due to Covid (Room service was unavailable and M Club was closed during weekend stay). I would like to thank Kimberly for helping with requests prior to arrival. A special thanks to Silvia and Henry from the front desk who made my family feel very welcomed and surprised us with a Birthday Cake in the room. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this property for any occasion.…
APM 2022 was great! It was amazing to see John (GM) walk the floors and be everywhere through the entire conference. Friendliest housekeepers that I have ever met. Room was very clean and amenities were more than accommodating. Every department delivered on this event and it showed!
I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights for a work trip. Upon arrival I was completely overwhelmed by the number of people in the lobby for a conference and the time to check-in. My room was on the 25th floor away from the noise of the lobby and not near the elevators. The room was spacious, clean and great temperature control. The windows were SO dirty which seems minor until you want to look outside. The bed was lumpy and could use a new mattress and higher quality pillows. When I arrived the bed was made but really just a comforter in between two sheets (then you just get tangled in everything at night). You have to pay for Wifi unless you are Bonvoy and log into your own apps on the TV. The toiletries offered were of varying brands which I thought was odd even though I never use them. I ate in the hotel lobby bar and I would say that is something I suggest to avoid. Staff was nice but the food (meh) and cleanliness (fruit flies galore) needs some work. The gym was FABULOUS and the best part of the hotel. Better than gyms I have been a member of! I could write an entire review with all of the highlights. The market coffee was mediocre and pricey ($7 small latte) but convenient in the lobby except you cannot use the app to order anything ahead of time on the day you check out. Overall it was a pretty good stay and would have been better if I actually slept well. It is close to my company office so I will most likely come back the next time I am in SF for work!…
Hotel is located in the heart of San Francisco in a convenient distance to most places. There is also a bar with a beautiful view at the top of the hotel, although there is no pool. Small annoyance that the lounge does not provide for complimentary alcohol, even during dinner hours. Which is the first time I’ve experienced it at a Marriott property.
Stayed here in this fantastic hotel for 3 nights. First, it is bounded by Mare and Mission, great location. It is near all shopping area in San Francisco. It is also accessible to great restaurant and movie center. The 39th floor has such a great view. Lobby is great, room is big. Service from checking in to checkig out was fadt thans to bonvoy apps. Will always come back.
This is a huge convention hotel. It offers the basics, but it lacks some nice amenities. Pros: Good location near Moscone Spacious room Good housekeeping Nice walk in shower Great views if you're in the right room Good AC and temperature control Coffee in room Comfortable bed Cons: Huge hotel with always crowded lobby No room service No makeup mirror in the bathroom Thin, cheap towels Skimpy bathroom amenities- all of the shampoo, conditioner and body was were different brands- that seemed cheap and tacky Very small closet- even for one person Terrible lighting in the room Slow, spotty wifi Bad security- anyone can go up in the elevators. Rode up several times with rowdy, drunk partiers who were heading up to the bar/club
We are platinum Elite members and travel extensively. Although there are things about this property we do like..... location, cleanliness......those things are not enough to give it a better rating. We always book a suite when we travel. In our suite the furniture was very uncomfortable other than the bed, and no bottled water provided. We were told that the Club lounge was open during the week, but not on weekends. That did not make us happy. Instead, we were offered a coupon to get "to-go" food for breakfast from the "Pantry".....a beverage, muffin, and yogurt. We were given no instructions about how that works and it was a chaotic process. There was a long line, there was no obvious way to know what we were allowed to choose, and no information about how the process works. It was very disappointing. We have 3 more reservations booked at this property in the next few months but it is likely that we will cancel them and look for somewhere else to stay.…
For the centre of a city like San Francisco, pretty poor that no free WiFi is included! We've since travelled to remote areas of California, all offering free guest WiFi! Otherwise couldn't fault our stay. Daily maid service, clean sheets and towels, floors clean, all furniture and room features are new and modern, decent shower and amenities (USB chargers, TV etc). Good location and was a great base for our short city trip.
Returned to San Francisco for the first time in 3 years due to the pandemic and chose the Marriott to be close to the Moscone for a Conference. The hotel feels modern and updated and ready for large crowds and business travelers. The bathroom amenities were a little small, but adequate. The shower water flow is very light and slow, but I believe that is due to the city regulations. The cool thing is the M Lounge for Elite members is open again!
