This is the second time we have stayed at Travelodge By The Bay (TBTB) We are a family of 6 (hubby, myself and four kids) and it is difficult finding accomodation that fits us all in one room but TBTB can do this. The main room has 2 queen beds and a second room has one double bed. The room... More

I was surprised to discover this is not a motel, but a hotel. The rooms were very big, spacious, clean, good bathroom products. Enough storage space in the room, super confortable king size bed, fast wi-fi internet, free parking space. 20min walk from Fisherman Warf or even Union Square. Absolutely adorable and romantic town. The only , let's say less... More

Front desk staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean a roomy. Priced according to the San Fran area. Little high for a Travel Lodge in other cities. As a guest, the parking should be free($17 or so) but it saved on parking down by the wharf with us in walking distance. Nice few block walk down Lombard Street to... More

We had the queen "suite" with a kitchen. It was very clean and roomy and the lobby staff was very friendly. Not too long of a walk to see the bay. The only complaint - we could hear every movement in the room above us, including one creaky floorboard. (If only those folks hadn't been early risers!)

The location was great- within walking distance to many restaurants, attractions. It's about 20 minutes to walk down to the pier and Fisherman's Warf. The location being close to a popular intersection (Van Ness and Lombard) made it easy to take public transit! The hotel was clean. Breakfast could be better- small room. Parking is ok for small vehicles, not... More

My son and I stayed at the travel lodge on a whim. The school trip to the exploratorium near by made this a good choice. The motel is close to the embarcadero which made sight seeing easy as it is within walking distance to the piers, fort mason, trolley, fishermans wharf, the sea pipes and too many I can't name... This hotel is in a a great location! Walking distance to many restaurants and travel sites. This is not luxury by any means, but who comes 2500 miles to stay around a hotel? The room was spotless and the bed was more comfortable than any Marriott I've ever stayed in. The best part? The great staff! Terry and Sal were... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
