Great location, close to fisherman’s wharf with a comfy bed and huge shower. Room was very quiet (533). The staff were awesome, quick check in and out. Very pet friendly. All COVID protocols followed. Lots of take out food options close by. Would definitely stay again!
We totally understand that covid has impacted experiences and some services but customer service was no where to be found at this hotel. No smiles, willingness to be helpful or any appreciation for being there. I hope when things get back to normal people will begin being nice again. Great location for what we wanted to see and do but we expect more from Marriott.
My husband and I usually stay near the airport to avoid the expensive parking fees of the city but decided to give this Marriott location a shot since it is near everything we wanted to do during our stay. When looking back at other reviews I noticed people suggest to request a room on the 5th floor facing Jones St to get a city view so when I booked I made sure to put that in my requests. Unfortunately, we were not assigned a room facing Jones St at check-in but still got a room on the 5th floor facing Columbus Ave. The view was still beautiful and to be fair requests are not guaranteed and I did not ask the woman at the front desk if she could fulfill my room request (my husband usually does the talking, LOL.) The only problem I had with our room was that we were assigned in this weird corner of the hallway with two other rooms. The room was shaped like a triangle, but it was decently sized. Parking was located across the street at Hotel Caza and finding parking was not an issue since it looked like Hotel Caza was closed so only Marriott guests were parking there. I don't believe this is the usual parking spot for Marriott guests but it looked like the Marriott parking was closed during our stay. My favorite part about this hotel is the location. It's perfect if you find yourself spending a lot of time at Fisherman's Wharf or if you like to walk into the city. The location alone has convinced us to keep booking at this hotel.…
Good location, good room. Staffing level s (even for Covid-19 times) is not adequate and not up to standards for a Marriott. No one at main entry to help with bags or keep driveway clear (multiple unmanned or unloading cars were constantly blocking entry). No concierge. Parking lot constantly full. No valet. One of two elevators were inoperable for two days, leading to long waits to get to room. Not worth the 50,000 Bonvoy points charged.
After reading some of the other reviews, I was compelled to add my two cents. We stayed at five hotels during our vacation all during Covid and the Marriott handled the crisis better than any other hotel we visited. The room was serviced daily, the hotel was immaculate, the staff responded to all our inquiries politely and professionally and the hotel is in a perfect location. Our room was quiet as we opted for the inner courtyard view. I would not hesitate to stay here again
