We stayed at this place a few years back. Pretty no frills but clean and quiet. Close to UCSF so very convenient. We liked it enough to book another time for today. With 5 people here, we got a "suite". What used to be a clean smelling hotel now reeks of cigarettes and...."something". The only tv is in the main room where the 2 beds are. The master bedroom has no TV and they won't give us one either. There is no refrigerator although there was supposed to be. Two king beds and one queen but only three sets of towels. If we had an alternative we would be gone. Will NOT be back. I've never given a 1 star review before if that says anything.
I am very sorry that we have to give this rating, but no one from the accomodation even tried to change our mind., and well, we should've read the reviews, and normally we do. This place isn't worth a star, and with a family of five we had one day to scoot around San Francisco. We came from across the other side of the world to see some of USA, but this is the only accommodation we left in digust. We arrived and were quite flabbergasted at the state of the whole complex. Our room was on the second floor, no lifts and six suit cases to lug up there through a maze and so many electric wires hanging around where they shouldn't have. One of our family had opened a door thinking it was the bathroom. Except it wasn't - it looked like an unfinished kitchen with a bunch of mice traps all over the ground. It all looked a bit dodgy, but it was our only day so we told everyone to take their passports as we felt uncomfortable leaving valuables in the room. We got to explore some of San Francisco, and returned around 10 pm. But there was no where to park. We had been given a piece of paper to diplay in the car window so we could park as guests of the hotel. When we asked at the office we were told that there was nothing else except around the corner- which defintely didn't look safe. So we decided that it wasn't going to work for us and told the office staff that we couldn't stay in the room. They said that we would not be getting any refund. So we left and drove the whole night to get back to Los Angeles. That was much better than staying in that creepy place.…
Location - you are directly across from both the beach and Golden Gate Park. The N Line on the Muni is down the street. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel as well as on the street. Disliked · Room 110: When we checked in, we were only given 3 bath towels. We were missing hand/face towels. There was also only 1 clothes hanger, and there was no luggage rack. When I called the Front Desk for these things,we were given a few more hangers and ONE face towel. So I went down the hall to grab a few more towels myself. The luggage rack also never came. We had to use the floor to unpack our clothes from our suitcases. It was that or use the bed. Also, the beds were VERY soft. Too soft, it hurt our backs. The free wifi kept dropping. The shower faucet continuously leaked, even when turned off completely. And the TV turned on BY ITSELF FIVE TIMES in one night. We don't typically even turn on the TV when we vacation, so the fact that the TV turned on by itself was a complete mystery to us. We turned it off with the remote control, and it kept coming back on. So we finally UNPLUGGED the whole unit. That shut it off completely. This was very, very strange. Staff at the front desk was not very friendly. If you want cheap digs, where you are close to the beach and literally just steps away from Golden Gate Park with free parking, book here, and just come back to the room at night. If you want some place comfortable and relaxing with better amenities, this place isn't for you. …
We booked this hotel for a short vacation on our way to Canada. We were exhausted after a 12 hour flight from Germany. If we weren’t so tired we would have tried to cancel our stay. I didn’t want our baby on the carpet as I had no idea when it had been cleaned last. Even when we asked for room cleaning they didn’t come. We collapsed into bed and tried to sleep but between the paper thin walls and the single pane glass you could hear the druggies and drunks fighting outside the window and in the adjoining rooms. We felt we couldn’t leave anything valuable in the room so had to pack it with us always. No coffee maker, hair dryer. I suspect it is a residential hotel because there were always people hanging out on the sidewalk in front of the doors, smoking and visiting like they knew everyone. …
I just needed a place to sleep before a hospital visit, and this was the least expensive name motel I could find anywhere nearby. From the first encounter with the surly, rude receptionist to my discovery of mold in the shower ceiling this was a dump. The sparsely furnished room had holes in the walls and the bed was mediocre. The Health Department should shut this place down.
